is there a way to export / backup the salient settings. I accidentally clicked reset and lost everything and had to recover a backup. 
It would be great if there was an import / export section of the theme settings.
Perhaps it’s already there, and I missed it?

There is no way to export from the dashboard as of now, but i’ll see what I can do about that in the future
hello i was wondering if there is a code that can make the testimonial slider a “true slider”. Say if the viewer doesn’t know it’s clickable, the slider automatically shifts to the next testimonial (much like the home slider).

You need to create a page and then assign that page as your “posts page” in settings > reading. Once you’ve done that, you can choose your blog layout from the theme options panel > blog options tab

One question about anchors. On my page http://project-octo.futurestateofdigital.co.uk/features/user-experience/ I have created 4 buttons that link to anchors further down. However when clicking the e.g. Getting Around button, its anchor (the blue ‘Easy to Navigate, Easy to Search’ bar) is hidden behind the fixed header bar.
I would like the blue bar that I’m anchoring to, to appear UNDER the header. Any ideas? Thanks
Hey adamp29! Since the header is fixed at the top, anchors will appear below. The only way to remedy this would be to use a scroll to plugin where you can define an offset or to place your anchors higher up in the page to counter the header space.

Your login information – I need to inspect your setup in order to find the cause that is removing your titles. It’s not something that can be done from just looking at the site on the front since this is not a bug of the theme but rather something in your specific setup.

No that shouldn’t effect it at all. I would first check plugins but if it’s not a plugin, there would be no way for me to help without getting in to test that part of the code and find out why it’s failing for you.

There is no html/css/js coding required with Salient – all of the elements and content are going to be contained inside of the WordPress editor for you to edit. Options such as colors, fonts etc will be inside of the theme options panel for you to configure through an interface. Hello,
I have a question about the contact-page. We used the possibility to add Google Maps in the header section. Now we want to delete this and disable maps.
We found out when you change your page-type (contact to standard), the template keeps the ‘Google Maps div’ active. It only works when you change the permalink.

Hey Marco! The contact template gets automatically assigned because of it’s file name. If you would like to remove it without changing your slug simply rename the file from page-contact.php to anything else such as page-blahblah.php

I see there is a picture where it says that the top height of the logo has to be 30 pixels. The thing is that my logo can´t be less height than 80px, is there any way to put it in 80 px instead of 30px??

Please consider these wishlist items. Are they part of the next release?
1. A WordPress account log-in link in the navigation bar. My community blog will require registration to comment. Once they’re logged in, “Hello (name)” appears or something like that. Hovering over their name presents the link to edit profile. Just the basic WordPress login integrated in the navbar of Salient. Possible? Or is there already an easy way to do this?
2. LARGE, BOLD slider for posts and video. I really like the ones on Themnific themes. Really big; full-width and tall.

2. Thanks for the examples! There is another slider coming in 2.0, but not one specifically designed to pull from posts like those you’ve shown me. I don’t want to spoil much more of the details regarding the new slider so I will stop it there. Make sure to check back in a week
Okay. I’m super-excited about v2.0; can hardly wait. It’s like seeing Lord of the Rings and then having to wait a year to see Lord of the Rings Part II.
Please consider a post slider for v3.0. I’ll try a plugin; perhaps Royal Slider.

Hey Sjoerd! Yes, there is a drag and drop UI for ordering your slides. You should see a tab for “Order” in your home slider admin section on the left hand menu

1. I will need a URL to see what you’re referring to. If you open a private ticket on the support forum no one else will see it if that’s what you were worried about.
2. This is by design so that the footer extends the full width of every page no matter the height – it was actually a feature added in by poplar request. As for the parallax bg, that’s also just the starting color – please post these questions in the support forum so that my answers can be properly indexed for other buyers

Haven’t heard of that before, but it’s not my site per say, it’s managed by ticksy so I have no control over the underlying code or the ability to fix bugs like that (if it really is a bug, since i have logged in on my smartphone many times without issues)

Hi, I didn’t find any document or descriptions about the terms used in full width section with parallax background: Left Top, Left Center, Left Bottom, Center Top , Center Center, Center Bottom, Right Top, Right Center, Right Bottom. What’s the difference among these positions? and is there any difference in the parallax effect if one section locates in the very top of a page and another section (identical to previous one) locates in the very bottom of a page?
Hey futureguitar! The selection for background position does not apply when using the parallax option – the background position for parallax sections gets calculated automatically. However when not using the parallax option, that property to determine how your background image gets aligned. It’s css parameter that’s good to have control over
