I’m trying to get my video upload limit adjusted but having some issues. Could you make your Nectar Slider accept URL’s? I’d like to store these in a folder bypassing the upload function. I thought I could simply give it the URL to the .webm and .mp4 files but no dice.
Oh, one more thing… what resource do you use to find stock video or to convert/create the .webm versions?

The nectar slider does accept URLs for the video backgrounds, do you not see the input field? Also, I don’t know if you’ve contacted your hosting provider already but they should have no problem changing your max upload limit it’s just one line of code to alter 
As for the stock videos, I bought most on pond5.com with the exception of the coding video – that was my own 
and you can convert your videos to webm using this: http://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-webm

BTW, I will pay you if you can show me how to use a different logo when the header shrinks. I’d like to swap files as opposed to shrink the height of the existing. Please please please! 
It’s odd but the nectar slider worked until I went in to edit your coding slide. I saw the url pointing to your site location. I did not edit that link, just some text but after save & reload it just shows the spinning gif, it doesn’t want to show any video from external source.
That’s very strange – anyway to share your URL so I can see what’s up?
Also, I really wish I had time for custom gigs right now but as you can imagine I was beyond swamped and am still playing catch up from the support queue that formed during the weekend when I was focus on 2.0 – sorry!

I clearly did something wrong when I installed the update. Is there anything I can do to make the site work again?
http://www.tentaclefilms.co.uk/You changed the name of your theme folder, please keep the theme name as salient as your database still thinks that’s the active theme! Currently it’s giving 404 errors for all the assets because it’s looking for things inside of “salient3”.

Hey topachakan! Yes, you just need to delete your current version and upload the new. As long as you have not made changes to the theme files directly you’re good to go!

The nectar slide is great! What CSS attributions should I add if I want there’s a semi-transparent background under text just like the home slide.
Glad you like it futureguitar! That would require a bit of custom css at the moment. If you open up the main stylesheet (style.css) and head to the rule for ”#featured article .post-title h2 span” you’ll find the necessary css to apply to the nectar slider caption to get a similar effect.

on the update, the search graphic is a broken graphic link…..where do I fix that?
It’s no longer a graphic, it’s an icon. If you don’t see it than you just need to clear your cache
Thanks for the QUICK response…..it seems my plugin, Font Aesome More Icons was causing the problem….I deactivated that and it is good to go…..really dig the ease of the Nectar Slider with video for full width….great update!

Multi-attribute filtering on the portfolio would be a really excellent addition to the functionality available within this theme. For another example of how it might work you could look at:

It is very nice update thank you so much! I have a few questions. Is it only me that sees blog entries merged together (I updated clean my cache it looks all good but that) there is no padding between each box in vertical positioning? Also would you please remind me the css code to get rid of the extra line at the ver bottom of each blog boxes?
Also is there a way to have a header for individual portfolio pages? or is there a way to change the 4 square icon (link to main portfolio page) to be next to arrows and have a small image-logo instead of the name of the portfolio post. I know this requires maybe some coding skills but some guidance will be appreciated.

If somebody does not want to have a the thin line at the bottom of the blog mansory box here is the code that worked on me:

For some reason in Safari mansory blog boxes does not have vertical padding between each other It seems perfect in Crome though. Is there a way to make all boxes equal width and height?

Hey ekapkin! I actually didn’t alter anything with the masonry layout for 2.0 so I don’t know why it would change for you. I also am unable to what you’ve described on Safari on my PC. Are you on MAC by chance?
As for your portfolio mod, this would take a good deal of custom development. It would be easier to simply use css to hide the default header and create your own for each page using the fullwidth section shortcode. The only thing is that you wouldn’t have the prev/next buttons but at least you could have a custom header with a logo and whatever else you wanted
A css snippet to hide the default header would be:
.single-portfolio .row.project-title {
display: none!important;
}

Hey DemonKM, the theme only includes the images that I have the rights to give you, aka the ones I made myself or took pictures of myself. The other ones after left out but the structure to everything is still there so you can simply upload your own photos if you like

what about the rights to the film?
It’s not my film so I can’t include the file for it, I only have permission from the creator (Pedro Conti) to use it on the theme for demo purposes. The other video of the coding background is my own though which is why I have it in the dummy data.
The previous question, from LogicandMagicInc does not show that I purchased the theme. I actually purchased it under my personal account not my business account. Apologies for any confusion. Question about how to go about upgrading still applies.

Apologies for my lack of technical knowledge, but I bought the theme at 1.6.2 and I’m part way through building my site. I appear to have missed out on the intervening updates and now I’m wondering how to update to V2?
Inside my “Manage Themes” section of Wordpress, Salient does not appear in the “Available Themes” section and I can’t see any way of initiating the upgrade. Can anyone help?
Hey LogicandMagicInc, All you have to do to update is delete the current version on your server and upload the newly downloaded one you got from ThemeForest. You can delete the current version by activating another theme which will make Salient inactivate thus giving you the delete button
