This theme looks super promising for what I need to do – just one question before I buy, how does it support sub categories?
Hey there,
On the demo site, on the homepage, checkout the category “Using KnowHow” to see how sub categories are handled.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks
Instead of having to download POEdit and trying to understand how it works, is it not possible to make the text “Articles Categories” and “Related Articles” on the theme changeable in the admin panel?
That would be nice and much simpler for some of us that are new to wordpress or run the risk of messing something up. Please consider adding these text to General Options so that admin can change them for the admin panel. (just like faq)
Hey there,
Thanks for your suggestion, I’ll keep it in mind.
Thanks
Hello, I have requested two support tickets, for two different issues, at the Hero Themes (as advised in documentation). Is nobody replying to support requests? The tickets have been waiting some days. Thank you
Hey there,
Sorry for the delay in getting your support request resolved, I’m still catching up after having been away. You should receive a reply soon.
Thanks
Hi,
I wanted to use this theme to build a KB, but got a problem.
There is a plugin called ‘Mappress” I’m now using. But when I click ‘New map’ button, nothing happens. But when I use default theme like ‘twentythirteen’ , it works well.
The plugin author says it has something to do with jquery edition of the theme. Is he right? Any update coming?
Waiting.
Hey there,
It’s very unlikely to be an issue with the jQuery version of this theme, as it doesn’t load and change the default behavior of WordPress’ built in jQuery version.
Thanks
Thanks for answering. I like your theme, and really need to solve this problem.
On clicking the button ‘New map’, nothing happens. Any thoughts?

Updated theme to version 1.1.4 now the FAQ dropdowns no longer work. Is there a fix? Thank you
I should note that the FAQ permalink slug is “faq” and that I did reset and save my permalinks /%postname%.
Permalinks for the site work, but the FAQ permalinks appear as
http://.../faq/#faq-123when hovering over the FAQ inks (instead of the regular permalinks).
When I manually type: http:// .../faq/#faq-123 into a browser window, I receive error 404.
When I manually type a FAQ URL into a browser address bar, using the post name permalink style /%postname% I am displayed a page showing that FAQ. Such as http://.../faq/this-is-the-faq-title
Also, when clicking the ”+” icon to the left of each FAQ, the whole web page jumps down, and does not display the expanded/dropdown FAQ clicked.
Replied to your support request.
Thanks
Hi Chris,
Great wiki theme. Can you share some recommendations on how to configure this theme to support markdown, and also show source code samples inside posts. Which plugins do you recommend or does the theme come with anything to handle this?
Thanks,
Hey there,
The theme doesn’t come with this functionality, and it’s not something I have experience with unfortunately.
Thanks
When I set the Sidebar to OFF on the theme options and the Sidebar OFF on the page. When I view the page (which has a table 100% width) the page is viewed as if the sidebar was still active although it doesn’t show any widgets?
Any help or fix would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards, Gary

How do I rename the text “Article Categories” on homepage and also rename the text area “Related Articles” below single pages(articles)?
I cannot seem to find where to replace these text. After renaming these text, will it be replace with the original after any updates?
Hey there,
You should have a reply from your Support Request. There was a notice on the support form that there would be a delay in replied due to me being away.

Hi,
How Can or where I can edit Meta Description and Meta Keywords.. for my homepage. I don’t see this in my dashboard. I’m using Yoast WordPress SEO plugin. Please advice.
Kris
Hey Kris,
Unfortunately I can’t provide support for 3rd party plugins.
Thanks
How do I turn off comments completely on this theme
Check the WordPress.org plugins repository, there’s a plugin to globally turn off comments.
Thanks
Hello, If the theme doesn’t work with one or more of my most important plugins, do you offer a refund? Thanks
Refunds are handled by Envato, you can find the refund terms here: http://support.envato.com
Thanks
I do love this theme, it’s definitely god work! When I just installed the latest update, I can no longer add or edit posts. It just displays a blank page. Deactivating all plugins doesn’t help, changing to another theme fixes the problem. All other functions, including adding/editing Pages works just fine.
Any ideas?

Thanks for the fast response. Ticket has been opened.
Hey.
I purchased this theme a long time ago. I am very happy with theme but I am trying to modify the theme to display three categories per row instead of the default where two are displayed on the home page.
I have modified the following code from the index.php file where the div class “column col-third is referenced. The default is “column col-half”. I see that the space on the home page is then created for the third category but I cannot get the theme to display the category.:
{ echo ‘ ’;}
echo ' ';
echo ' ' . $category->name.' (' . $category->count.')
';
I have verified that the div class for column col-third exists in the style.css file of the theme. Can you please let me know if you have any suggestions and if this is how the theme was intended to function? Thanks a lot!
Allan
Hey Allan,
You need to modify the logic to wrap the “row” div around a set of 3, instead of 2. Check line 60 for this.
Thanks
Hey. Thanks a lot for getting back to me.
Are you referring to line 60 in the style.css or index.php file?
home.php (which is the homepage template).
Thanks
Hi Chris,
There is no home.php. Based on what I can see the only file associated with the home page is the index.php. Based on my experiences with most wordpress themes this is the file used for the home page.
Can you possibly provide a sample of what the code should look like? Please advise on whether there is anywhere else that I should search for the code needed to make this change. Thank you.
Allan
Hey Allan,
You must be using an old version as the latest moved the homepage to home.php instead of index.php to keep in line with new standards.
It looks like you might want to contact a developer to help you as unfortunately I’m not able to provide customizations.
Thanks
Thank you for the information. I will work on customizing it. I am able to download the file again from Theme Forest since I purchased it here. Can you please let me know if I download the file again, will I get the latest version or does this require me to purchase the theme again? If I don’t get the latest version then where can I get the latest version of the theme?
Hey Allan,
You just need to re-download the theme to get the latest version.
Thanks
Is it possible to set a different home page, without the categories folders and big search inbox? Then I would like to create a KnowHow page similar than your actual home page (with categories folders and big search inbox)
How can I do it?
Thanks!
Hey there,
You would need to modify the template and setup a custom page template to do this. It’s not difficult if you’re familar with the WP template system.
Thanks
Hello!
Really a fantastic theme!! I have two questions
1. I want some pages with no sidebar and some pages with right sidebar. In Theme Options I put sidebar interface to right by default. Then, in pages that I want don’t have sidebar, I select sidebar-off but It doesn’t work
¿Any solution?
2. I want main page in my web have a revolution slider. I think it be wonderfull don’t show Search Bar in main page. Can I do this editing code? Is It difficult?
Thanks and sorry, my english level is bad
Hey there,
1. Please open a support request via http://herothemes.com and I’ll take a look to see what’s going wrong.
2. It would be up to you and depends on your proficiency as a coder.
Thanks
Thanks Chris. I sent the message in your support center. I’ll see how to insert Revolution Slider. If I get good results, I’ll write you for share with others customers
Hello again! I solved both problems.
1. The fullwidth page template was in blank! Maybe a error in download? I copy from others templates and I adapted it to fullwidth
2. If someone is interested, I only have to make a page template that don't show live search box. Very simple! You can see it on gespress.net (only template, web haven't info)
In addition, I installed Awesome Support Ticket System. Definitively, I’m in love with KnowHow theme! Five stars and maybe Scopic purchase soon
Thanks
Hey there,
There’s a metabox for changing the sidebar position have you tried that? The custom templates were there for legacy cases but aren’t needed anymore so will remove them for the next version.
Thanks
Are you able to make a feature or reference a hook so that if a user searches for a question and no results are found, they can submit the question in a form?
Sorry I don’t do custom work. Thanks for asking though.
Can’t tell you how much money i’ve spent on over-designed wordpress themes, only to end up with the real info hidden behind a sea of bling. This theme has boosted my ad revenue by a factor of 2 – it is clean and people get to the information they want very quickly. Not only this but they see all the links to other information, which has reduced my bounces by 30%. Brilliant theme – thank you.
Thank you for the awesome feedback, I really appreciate it
So, has this not been tested on IE8 or has it been tested and doesn’t work properly?
Thanks
Eric
Hey Eric,
The theme works fine in IE8, it’s just not been added to the compatibility list (will update that).
Thanks
Hi Chris,
Just a pre-sales question: can I use this theme as a child theme?
Saw in the comments you are thinking about developing a knowhow-plugin based on this theme. How is that coming?
Cheers, Thofr.
Hey there,
A child theme comes packaged ready to use with KnowHow which I strongly recommended using if you’re thinking about customizing the theme.
It’s still in the works, and will most likely be a new product rather than based on KnowHow.
Thanks
is there a way to change the “Article Categories ” in the front page from two column to three column?
Hey there,
It’s possible but you would need to edit the template to do this.
Thanks
