I quite like the Mega Menu functionality but was wondering if it is at all possible to display a widget in one or all of the columns?
Hey Olimess! That would require the use of a plugin like UberMenu – there’s also documentation on their site for Salient integration

Thanks for your response. I had looked at integrating UberMenu and although it does work well, it does take away some nice features from the default Salient menu … so I’ve decided to keep it as is! Thanks anyways.

Hi – having problems with the logo resizing when in mobile view.
basicaly the logo goes way too small unlike your demo.
Any ideas?

Loving the theme, great work! I would like to get add a colored texture to my video background on the nectar slider like you have on the New York video. Is this possible from within the theme or is it something you have done in video editing software (if so which one)? I have seen some other themes with the ability to choose the texture color – if it is not already implemented, is it something you plan on adding? or perhaps this is possible with some custom css? Thanks!

The color was added in after effects. There’s a texture option for each slide, but no color option. It couldn’t be done with css alone without adding some additional html markup as well but still wouldn’t look as good as adding the color on directly with software.

I’ve been using the theme now for a couple of weeks. I love almost everything about it… besides the footer. All I’d like to do is put our contact info there in a stylish way, but I can’t really find that option. It will be set up on http://www.edmontonweb.ca but for now it is on: http://173.254.102.71/

the footer in Salient is made up widget areas like most themes. Since you can use the text widget in there which supports HTML, the sky is the limit.
Hi, love the theme. Just updated the theme to the new version from the previous version and now when in boxed layout mode, my home page slider (Nectar slider) is gone. The layout has a big empty space where the slider was. (on localhost dev)
Never mind. LOL. Apparently the slider doesn’t show until you add additional content to the page below the slider. Who knew?

Apologies ahead of time if this isn’t actually a bug or is already noted somewhere.
In a mobile view, the photo gallery on shop/product photos doesn’t not seem to work properly. In the next largest break point, the thumbnails for the other photos appear and are accessible. But in the smallest view in the responsive layout, the gallery only shows the first photo and you are unable to view the other existing photos.
Is that a known bug? Or have I done something wrong.

Well cripes, your demo works just fine. For some reason I don’t have navigation or the thumbnail ratio on my end. Just a single thumbnail for the first image in the “gallery.” Funny thing, I haven’t edited anything yet.. I wonder if I’ve uploaded the product images in the wrong place?
Sorry.. is there a way to determine whether navigation for product images is turned off or on? It seems as though it’s just not working. I can’t figure out the difference between what I’ve got going on and your demo (I loaded in the dummy content and have only been modifying from within the Nectar backend or minimal css also within the Nectar backend. No code finagling). Thanks ahead of time and sorry to be a pain!

based on the demo, what’s a good image size for the main slider? portfolio images? and other images on the site… or is there one file size we should save to and the theme resizes them for us correctly?

1. I would recommend the Nectar Slider images should be at least 1800px wide by your desired height. Since you define what the slider height is, make your images match that.
2. If you are not using the masonry portfolio then just ensure the images are at least 600px wide. If you plan on using the masonry option, refer to the user guide in the “masonry sizing” section for more info.
3. Images on the site are up to you and would vary based on where/how you’re placing them.

Hey visualgalore! Yes, each image is still set as a portfolio item. You just now have the option when using the portfolio shortcode to choose “lightbox only”.

Awesome theme that I am really interested in purchasing.
We want to create something similar to this landing page using your theme – http://plentific.com/ . Just a couple of questions:
- After seeing the example above do you think it will be possible?
- Is it possible to make the home landing page full scrollable?
- We like the way the logo is displayed in the navigation bar in terms of the background of that part being blue and the rest of the navigation bar being white and also the “Get Started” button in the menu. We would it be possible to do this with your theme?
- Also, how easy is the theme to fully customise for individuals who have extensive HTML/CSS experience but are still learning about WordPress?

1. Yes, most of that would be pretty easy to emulate.
2. Do you mean use menu links to scroll to sections within the page? If so, yes you just need to use a plugin like this: https://www.google.com/#q=scroll+to+id+wordpress
3. You would need to write some custom css for that.
4. You don’t need to know much about WordPress to customize how the theme looks. There’s actually a ton of options already built in to alter the style, but to go beyond them css is really all you need.

I have a custom slug for the portfolio part and it works great, even with WPML plugin. But the Main Portfolio Page URL isn’t changeable on a per language base within the admin or WPML. Is it possible in another way?

Hi, I am considering to buy the theme. I just have a question for the video-slider: The video in your demo seems to load pretty fast – what are the specs of that? Filetype, size, length etc.?
I have a video, that I want to include if I choose the theme, but I think it might be too heavy to load.

The video backgrounds must be converted to .webm & .mp4. The ones I used are all around 20-30 second loops which got compressed down to around 20mb. You can still use longer videos, the video will start playing and the slider will fade in as soon as the video is capable of playing, i.e. only a little bit of the video needs to load. The slider does not wait for the entire video to finish loading or anything like that.

I am having a paragraph formatting problem. I have a section of text in two halves, the end section ( one_half_last) will not accept a paragraph spacing. I tried everything I can think of. Here is a link, its the para on the right under “What Is Rockgodz Hall Of Fame?” The text is all one solid paragraph now because I couldn’t get it to space properly. It apparently will do a line break only, not a full paragraph.
What am I doing wrong?

I have just verified p tags should work normally in a one_half_last column – from inspecting your source I only see an empty p tag at the bottom after the text.
