Last question before I decide to go ahead with the purchase. I noticed that on all mobile devices, the theme appears with a little menu icon in the upper right corner that has to be pressed to access the full menu with submenus. When you do, you get a long list that you have to scroll down for a while if your site has a lot of content. Is it automatically set to appear this way? Is there a way to disable this feature in settings so we can get full menu bar on top? Thank you.

This is a functionality issue regarding the constraints of mobile devices. The list of links is certainly very long on our demos, but only because we are using it to show of A LOT of content. Most sites will not have anywhere near as much content on their site, and if they do, this is a reality of managing that much content. The list of links is collapsed so that the user can at least see the content of the page they arrive on, and then make the selection to see the navigation. This keeps things nice and organized and eliminates people from feeling overwhelmed when they first come to your site. This is a very common practice of dealing with navigation on mobile devices that you will see across most websites these days.

How does the theme behave with buddypress/bbpress?

Did you see our 30+demos? Each of the demos has a portfolio page you can click on to see examples. You can also click through to view the portfolio single page examples and the varying styles across the different Stack designs. 1, 2, 3, 4 column then fullwidth/boxed, etc. You can even set the exact dimensions of your content area to the pixel (for example, boxed at 600px). There are lots of options.
There are dozens and dozens of pages, portfolios, blog posts, and more in each of the demos so be sure to check that out for reference.

I saw those – I was hoping to see some finished sites. I want to email them to a prospective client, and sending her your demo site would just confuse her.
At this time we don’t have a collection of demos available besides the ones in our demo section. Perhaps if she was directed just to the demo section? http://theme.co/x/go/demos.php. Keep in mind that each is created to be a full site with their own home, blog, pages, etc.

Hi, at the moment im heading more towards buying the X theme. Could you please tell me why i should buy X instead of lets say a theme framework like Genesis? I would like to know what this provides that would make it just perfect for the user?
When you say its customizeable, does this include moving objects around on the screen in either a “Drag and drop” or doing it with padding and margins? or neither?

BBpress support is not built in out of the box (it should work fine though, we just don’t have any built in support for it)
Regarding Genesis, you would not be able to use X as a child theme for their framework.

And, is it possible to build a page/site like the Demo Site http://theme.co/x/ is set up, with the links to various content in the demo at the page bottom when you open the demo, and the links/navigation moving to the top as you navigate through the demo? Is this a microsite, or just normal navigation? How to set the links to move from bottom to top of page? If you can create something like the Demo Site page, and wanted that page within a normal website, would that be done with a microsite?
The theme.co/x/ page was setup to showcase the X theme, however we are working on a solution for a one page feature built into X. Currently, however if you wanted that effect, our support staff could help you a bit in the forums with the css to do that but it is not something out of the box yet.
Also, I’m not sure I understand what you mean by microsite, but if what you are asking is could you have a one page site on the “home” and then actual pages/posts in addition to that, then yes you bet.
Wanted to view the demo of your theme on iPad mini, safari quits. On iPhone – takes very long time and then loads only the upper part with menu bar; on regular iPad – loads very long time with the same appearance as on iPhone and then later the rest of the content appears.

Thanks for taking time to write in to us. We’re sorry that you’re experiencing some issues loading the site on your mobile devices. This is something we will certainly look into, although everything appears to be loading fine on our end here.
Some of what you might be experiencing is that in an effort to show off all of the features included, our demonstration websites have a lot of content loaded throughout them. Because of this, load times do take a little while longer than they would normally. This is indicative of any website that features lots of “heavy” content (images, video, et cetera). Additionally, increased viewing on these can slow things down as well.
Performance is a chief concern of ours with X and we are always working to improve the way that we manage all of the assets included. This goes from custom fonts (HTTP requests reduced to a single request rather than multiples for each font used), to CSS (only the CSS needed is loaded at any given time, whether it’s Stack specific or plugin specific), to JavaScript (certain scripts are only loaded when their corresponding shortcodes are seen in the content), and so much more. While we have done as much as we can in an effort to reduce the impact of all of these resources on load times, there will always be things that we can do better, and we will always continue to pursue them.

Thank you very much for the videos. We have just been testing this ourselves and have found that everything is loading fine for us, therefore it could somehow be related to your Internet connection. There is also a considerable amount of load time added when viewing the site through ThemeForest’s iframe. Going directly to http://theme.co/, you will find that load times are much more responsive.

Hi, theme looks great so far but i wanted to ask some questions before buying.
1. Is this theme a life-time buy or is it subscription based? – I just ask this question to be a 100% sure..
2. Can i sell this product to a client without any copyright/trademark issues? – also i see you wrote “Use, by you or one client” does this mean i can only use this theme once(for one client), or can i sell this product to as many clients as i wish? – of course i sell the product after i modified the theme to their liking..
If i can sell this to as many clients as i want, and use for my own, you can be sure that you are going to have sold another copy of the theme very soon.

2. You need to buy 1 licence per client/per site you are using it on and that as often as you want.

1) Each purchase is for one copy. There are no additional fees related to the theme for updates, etc.
2) If you are working on a client project, you can absolutely purchase X and use it, however it is only a single use. If you had a second client or personal project you would need to purchase an additional license. Third, an additional license, etc.

So instead of buying a new copy for each project, you would have a subscription-based system where you could use it as many times as you wanted but had to pay each month/year?
At this time all licenses are sold individually, however this may be something we make available in the future (no plans to in the near future though).

Amazing job on this theme. I’ve been reading all the comments since day one you launched it in themeforest and the only thing that is holding me back is that i’d really need a demo content ready for getting the ‘one-landing-page’ we see in http://theme.co/x/
I’ve read that you made that with some customization and that i’d be able to get something similar via shortcodes but i’d prefer getting the exact same landing page via demo content. Import XML file and go.
So i’m waiting for it for buying the theme. Just letting you know my expectations

are you using OpenDNS? We had some issues that they are using the wrong dns for our domain so if you’re using OpenDNS please flush your dns cache then everything should be fine.
In the admin, if you have auto updating feature, can I shut this off or remove. The client will have access to the admin and do not want client touching anything regarding updates until all is working smooth.

I’ve had the same issue as some of the other users – sometimes I’ll go to Theme.co/X and it’ll fully resolve to that site and other times it’ll redirect to Themeforest. Sometimes I’ll refresh a page and then it’ll redirect to Themeforest. Not sure what’s happening, but what someone else described wasn’t isolated on their end.

thank you for mentioning. We figured out what’s going on and resolved it. The solution is to flush your dns cache if you are using OpenDNS. They had a wrong setting of your dns on some of their servers and we fixed this so from now on you should not experience anything like this. If you have any troubles fixing it do not hesitate to get in touch with us!

Just to clarify, are you wanting something that unlocks content after a user provides their email via a form? If so, there are plenty of great plugins available that accomplish this task. One that comes to mind is Restrict Content Pro. Take some time to read through the information provided for this plugin to see if it accomplishes what you’re setting out to do.

Hi! Awesome theme. I was wondering if it is possible to add a user login and user profile pages to the X theme. I’m building a service provider website where the clients will have a user profile that just has to be private not interactive or have social network integrations.

Are you looking to automate this in someway, or just build these from scratch? You can easily use our [protect] shortcode that keeps information hidden from users who aren’t logged in. If you’re needing something a little more robust, you might need to investigate certain membership platforms to help you manage levels of access. There are lots of great options out there such as MemberMouse, it’s really just a matter of doing a little research and finding which one fits your needs best.

Just one more pre-purchase question – I currently use Gravity Forms but understand this isn’t compatible with your theme. This is okay as long as there is something similar in your theme. So, does the theme support multiple contact forms which can be fully configured for various input fields, drop downs etc.? Or, what are the limitations? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for writing in. Just to clarify something, Gravity Forms is certainly compatible with X, it simply isn’t supported. What we mean by this is that X is built on best practices, so any well-developed plugin should be compatible with X and work fine. It isn’t supported in the manner that we haven’t (yet) added styling to Gravity Forms to have it fit the look and feel of each of our stacks. However, Gravity Forms will still work fine for you if this is your preferred option, it just might mean that you will need to implement some custom CSS too make it feel fully integrated for the time being.
We do support Contact Form 7, which isn’t as robust as Gravity Forms, but it’s a great free alternative. Take a moment to read up on Contact Form 7 when you have a chance to see if it fits your needs.
