Hello, first of all thanks for such an awesome theme!
Right now I have 3.8.1 installed and I’d like to know where I can find a complete list of the files I have to overwrite and upload to upgrade to 4.0.1. I found the list of changes and upgrades, but no info about the files that need to get overwritten etc. Thanks in advance for the info!

Tons of files have changed – it would most practical to simply delete the existing theme and upload the new version. If you’ve made mods to the core files which is why you’re wondering this, it would be a good idea to keep them in a child theme going forwards so you can easily update and keep track of everything

Unfortunately there’s no countdown built directly into the theme so you’d need to use a plugin for this.
You can update by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new. I recommend using FTP, but you can use the WP dashboard if you prefer. You won’t lose any of your content or theme settings so don’t worry about that if you were

Thanks for reporting this – apparently it only occurs if you’ve selected the default accent color. If you wanna fix it early just open the footer.php file, search for this:
<a class="nectar-button <?php echo $cta_btn_color;?>"
and change it to:
<a data-color-override="false" class="nectar-button <?php echo $cta_btn_color;?>"

Hi! I would like to know how to activate the frostwave style. I want to do full widht elements on the home page like on the frostwave demo. The 3 boxes of diferent colours are full width. How can i do that?

The forstwave is just a demo – same theme and nothing to activate. It just uses new features and elements available via 4.0. If you’re looking to make full width columns just create a row in visual composer and set the row type to full width content. Then add columns as needed
Also, there’s a dummy data file included with 4.0 in case you want to import the example setups.

This is a minor release that addresses all the known issues with 4.0 so far – The update has been submitted to ThemeForest & should be available to download soon!Please check the changelog for a list of the issues sorted out.

Hello, after installing your latest theme version I got this messages about DWPInstaller and DPSPInstaller, browsing with my MAC, Chrome on Mavericks. You any clue where this stuff comes from. No extra installed than the necessary things you request for a setup. I also imported the dummy.xml from the Frostwave demo.

Kind of freaking out here a little. I updated that header.php in my child theme folder and when i refresh my site it no longer shows up. It’s just a white screen

Hi, when I upload a video to use as a background in a row I get sound auto playing. Is there any way to remove that?
I was under the impression that sound was disabled, it’s very annoying if sound is playing without the users permission.

I agree having sound on a video background is bad UX – however I can’t force muted behavior by default since some users insist on it. If you can’t supply an already muted video for whatever reason you can indeed add this functionality by opening the file:
salient/nectar/nectar-vc-addons/vc_templates/vc_row.php
, searching for:
<video class="nectar-video-bg"
and changing it to:
<video muted class="nectar-video-bg"

I can’t seem to add the Forstwave to my sample site I created to install the latest version of Salient. I don’t know the font types, sizes, etc. How would this be installed and set up?

there’s two dummy data folders included with 4.0 – one for each demo setup. They also both include the demo options file you can easily import into the theme options (there’s an import/export tab now).

No problem – you can export your current settings and save them wherever on your computer for future/backup use prior to importing the demo settings

Great release with lots of new features! Unfortunately Text with Icon Feature seems not wo work properly anymore, since the image gets very big (actually bigger than the original size of the image itself) . I can’t upgrade ( I had to downgrade to 3.7 actually), until the aformentioned problem is solved.

I just tested that element with using an image for the icon and all is normal. You most likely just needed to clear your cache or did not delete the old theme prior to uploading the new version.
If both of those are not the case please share a URL where the problem exists so I can take a look and help you out

I’ve done both but unfortunately it isn’t working. (the old theme folder was actually renamed not deleted, but I don’t think this could cause the problem, does it?) Now I have downgraded to 3.7 so sharing the URL won’t help I guess.

Just checked the demo and wondered if the boxed style has an option to be smaller in width? Is this among theme options? I checked documentation and could not find. Also checked the code behind the demo and changed width and it caused a disorder for the contents inside the box, like header on one side and columns on the other side.
I need the boxed area to be smaller before I proceed to purchase.Client has problem with its width to be too much.

1. Have you checked the classic demo? That example shows the main content container bound to a max width a few hundred pixels smaller. If you need to go even smaller than that it would be a matter of css

I checked it again and noticed I had checked with classic and once anything is changed, it gets messy.
I’m not asking for an answer here since I have not purchased. But changing any of the below values did not help me:
boxed {

I tried changing width to % instead of px. Spent the whole morning trying which is a bad sign for me

Yeah – you would need to change more than just one element to a smaller width. There’s probably 5 things would need be targeted in the selector to effectively reduce the boxed width.

I just installed the new version and figured out how to add an image/color for the header. But how do you make the menu area transparent for just that page? Or does it have to be transparent for every page?

- is there a way to make the first image clickable to open in a light box (the featured image) http://www.manuelgrad.at/portfolio/illumopillar/
- what is the best way to add some space between those images? 50px or something. i don’t want it to affect all my portfolio images on my site, i just want to alter the default space in some cases.
- how can i get an image to vertically align to the bottom (in a column)?

1. Yes, just enable the option to hide the featured image and then in the extra content editor add this in the text tab:
<a href="your-large-img-src.jpg" class="pp"> <img src="your-img-src.jpg" /></a>
2. A quick way would be to use the divider element between each which you can set a custom height to or you could give each image a specific css class that you can define a bottom margin to.

Hello, Pre buy question. Does this theme supports secondary menu on the top bar because I want enable users access their account through a menu on the top with other options like help etc.
Another thing is the classic and frost themes 1 with different options or separate ?

Love the Theme. Great work! Bought it last week. New at WordPress. Deleted previous theme, uploaded update, but everything looks like the older version. I’d like to use the images captions and the transparency on the menu.

The new version doesn’t overwrite any old settings you have. I would never force users to change the design of their existing site – the update simply adds a bunch of new functionality and options which has greatly increased the flexibility of the theme as a whole
1. Check out the image gallery element located in the page builder & choose image grid to get rolling with that
2. The transparent header option is located in the Theme Options > Header tab and a description of how it works is located under the option checkbox.

Thank you once again for your quality product. Since I’m in development and looking to replace an existing html site, I created a new directory installed WP and the template and started from scratch. Its OK, I’m new to WP and need the experience. I LOVE your videos. One request…Could you show best business practice… How would you go from the template to a minimal site. What process would you follow. My approach is 1. Pages- content is King, 2. Menus 3. goodies… I think it would help to see how the guru would approach it.

I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the videos and feel comfortable enough to start from scratch! I think you’re already heading in the right direction as far as your process. If you’re starting from scratch you don’t have to worry about it feeling like a template since you’re going to essentially be in charge of every content element and design choice without starting from one of the demo’s. Just build how your desire, keep quality content in mind and you should be good
