Does your “responsive ilightbox” shortcode support video as well as images, as shown on the ilightbox website?

Thanks for writing in! Indeed it does when used in conjunction with our [image] or [lightbox] shortcodes, it’s very easy to setup. We’ll certainly look into updating these demos to more easily depict this going forward, but you can definitely utilize this feature.

What I’d love is thumbnail images for videos, which when clicked on, open a beautifully skinned jquery popup window that contains the video player along with twitter and facebook share buttons, as they have done on this theme http://ignitethemes.com/themeforest/switcher/?theme=reverence_html (to see the video popup, click “Media” and look for an image thumbnail with the caption “this is a video.”) Awesome! Hey, if I can obtain that jquery code, do you think I can make it work with the X template? That is a very key question as it goes to the larger question of how much we are able to use custom scripts with X.

The video functionality will operate like the YouTube and Vimeo examples in demonstration. We utilize this script to manage our lightboxes, and our shortcodes simply set everything up for you. Essentially, you’ll be able to do something very similar to the example provided, but without any sharing options at this time. Additionally, the example you provided is in reference to some sort of media gallery or portfolio, and this is not achievable out of the box with X. Instead, the lightboxes are meant to be setup within the content of your page with images and buttons, not as a global feature for a section of the site as this appears to do. Anything you would like to do regarding implementing some type of functionality like this would certainly be custom and need to be handled on your own due to the amount of variables and work involved.

I guess the main question is: would I be able to plug in my own jquery script to implement a feature not currently in the X theme? I know that Wordpress is highly customizable. Just wondering if using a theme such as yours makes it more difficult to work with the raw HTML and CSS files.

All WordPress themes are easily customizable via child themes. If you’re comfortable with WordPress then you’ll have no problem adding your own scripts or markup. As you mentioned, WordPress itself is readily customizable and using X with your installation is no exception. There are some slight nuances to how these alterations might be implemented due to the uniqueness of X, but all of these items are outlined with detailed instructions in the member area and even our most self-proclaimed “newbie” users have been able to make changes to their site when needed as this process isn’t a difficult one with WordPress as you’ve previously stated.

Hi, I want buy your template but I need to know if is possible to have 3 menu. 1 at the top, 1 on the left and 1 on the right. So, I need a template with 3 columns.

You only can have 1 menu in the navigation area, and you could put a menu widget in the sidebar but there is no option to put a menu into the top bar. This would require customization (changing the template files).

There is not a 3 column option such as that available in X at this time.

I’m very impressed with your theme! I will definitely buy it for many of my projects to come. I have 2 small questions for now:
1. I like your gallery blog post format, in your demo for “Renew Blog 3” version you have two posts grid with short description or just title. Is it possible to have 3 or 4 posts grid with just a title for smart phone and desktop viewing? I noticed you have some gallery versions with 3-4 posts grids with hover titles (captions) of the blogs, which is great on desktops, but on smartphones I can’t see what’s the title of the post, since there is no hover effect.
2. If I choose a boxed (container) layout, In a vertical smartphone viewing on your demos it keeps the % margins on right and left sides, which minimizes the view port, is it possible to keep the content boxed (in the container) with the margins on the desktops view, but have it display full width on the vertical smartphone view?

- I’m not entirely sure what you mean by a “two posts grid” for the blog section of Renew 3. The blog layout for this example you’ve referenced is a fullwidth site layout (i.e. no sidebar) with the standard Renew blog layout, which typically includes a title, some post meta information, featured media (i.e. image, audio, et cetera), and a short description. If you could elaborate a little further on what you’re referencing for this questions we’ll be happy to provide you with a more thorough, tailored answer.
- This would require some minimal customization on your part via a child theme (which we provide with the purchase of the theme) to remove the margins on mobile devices (or at the breakpoint of your choosing).

Thanks for writing in and clearing things up! With the masonry blog layout you can select between 2 and 3 columns for this layout. Additionally, it’s best to think of each Stack within X as it’s own “theme within a theme” with it’s own unique set of features and functionality, and the portfolios are no different as each one operates in a special manner. The portfolio hover effect for the portfolio is indeed something specific to Renew and while you cannot see this on mobile, clicking on an image will take you through to a post, allowing you to see a title, meta information, description text, et cetera.

we are not using any of the native Visual Composer shortcodes, we’ve created our own shortcodes and implemented them in VC so you won’t have the responsive text utility shortcode available in our theme.

2) Is there a general CSS override box I can fill my changes in for standard or RTL?

4) if yes on 3, can each site be configured separately or there are settings which are saved by file?
5) Is retina supported by php or javascript? When using cached hosts such as wp engine the php generated retina images dont show.

3. Yes, make sure to pay attention to our licensing. You will need 1 license per website.
4. Yes each site can be configured on its own.
5. Our theme supports retina devices by best practice which means we try to use icon fonts and css as much as we can. For images retina detection you would need a plugin.

Will this theme support multiple title or taglines and can each one be individually stylized? (e.g. 3 separate lines with a different font size and style in each) thx
Can you explain what you mean by multiple titles or taglines? We have a custom title styling if that is what you are asking, and you can of course add your own CSS to style things anyway you wish.
I would like to have a title line on one line in largest font followed by a second separate line with my name of a different size and style font and then a third line with address/tel in yet smaller font. I barely know little more about css other than knowing how to locate it and make a child theme with a plugin. Will this theme allow me to alter the head enough so that i dont have to customize by writing css code? Thx.
Any CSS modification such as this we recommend making with child themes. We provide child theme templates in our member area as well as some instructions for how to use them. Specifically to your question and to achieve what you are describing, if you are talking about the same font (just different sizes) that is not hard to achieve using things like an h1, h2, p tag, etc
Eagerly awaiting any news on the Magazine stack front. In the meantime, is there a shortcode that can pull in recent posts that are filtered by category? That would be a BIG intermediate help before the next stack arrives with all its goodness.

How can I go about that? No matter what I do I can not get the sidebar to show up on the left side with widgets on the homepage. I can get it to show on actual pages and blog entries but not on the main page.

I have followed the work of several developers and when I read about X it was like I was 12 again hiding magazines under my matress.
In all seriousness great job, best of luck on sales all though I doubtyou need it.
I intend to purchase upon a resonse re: the ability and to what degree is the header customizable. Example changing size of the logo, could I add an image or “team” picture and text font > Style > Size. Oh and back round color. Thank you for your time and all the hard work of the development team.

You can definitely make the logo as big or as small as you like just keep in mind that if you navigation is fixed or static top this will affect the number of navigation items you can show (not as much a concern for fixed left or right). You can also select either text or logo (but not both) out of the box. Not to say this is impossible to add just not how the feature works currently related to logos. Regarding background color, you can change the navigation background color on Renew and on Integrity you can activate an optional navbar transparency like the Integrity 8 demo.

I got some premium addons for (easy tables & ultimate addon …) it and I presume they do not work because it’s not up to date (they work fine on another theme). I tried to upgrade it myself but it breaks wp. Maybe I’m missing something ?

I want to build an e-commerce website where I can have option to display preview of our product and also to restrict complete content to only paid customers. Obviously for that we need to have option of adding payment gateway API in it. Kindly help me with the information, if using this theme I can actually build an full fledged e-commerce website? Also, this $60 will be a one time payment or every year I have to make payment of $60 to get the services activated?

$60 is the price for a single license for a single domain. There are no additional fees, however if you wish to use X on say 3 sites, you would need to purchase 3 licenses.
The options you talked would be things you would have to setup and integrate on your own. You can definitely do that with X, however as you are talking about many different things (membership system, checkout, API, etc), those will be customizations you will be responsible for either developing yourself, using a 3rd party plugin, or hiring a developer for. We provide support for the theme only and any integrated plugins (Visual Composer, Revolution Slider, Gravity Forms, etc) as it relates to the theme.

Does this theme have the ability to have an image roll over with another image that is the same size? Example, if I have a gallery, and I have 2 different views of an item and I want to group them together into one photo, and just make it so that somebody just has to mouse over to see the other view.. I hope that makes sense.
