Themeco … The memory issue that atutor11 mentioned is not just a GoDaddy problem. It’s a problem with most, if not all, shared hosting plans on any number of hosting services.

While I don’t have your ‘X’ theme, I have another similar premium theme with a visual editor like Visual Composer, it’s called Avia Framework, and our hosting service only allows 64 MB of PHP memory. We’ve been having significant issues with our site since loading that theme on it.

I’m glad I searched your theme’s comments before purchasing your theme.

Hi There,

It is not a problem with most, if not all, shared hosting plans on any number of hosting services. Most of our customers are on shared accounts with various hosting providers, and Visual Composer works just fine.

While we can not speak for other themes or the compatibility issues they may or may not have, what we can tell you is that the place where the issue was presenting itself was when using Visual Composer AND GoDaddy (and only then in certain instances). It is not indicative of the theme as the Visual Composer developers themselves confirmed the issue on their and that they were looking into it.

Every time someone switched away from GoDaddy, the issue was resolved (and again, it was not an issue people were having with X, rather using the Visual Composer plugin on their GoDaddy hosting account). People are still 100% able to use the Shortcodes on their GoDaddy hosting account without Visual Composer and everything works just as it should.

Hello,
After purchasing the “X” theme, which I find amazing, installing it on my Godaddy hosted website, and getting 80% of the site built, I began having issues with the included Visual Composer plugin.
It became impossible to add content or even edit content using the Visual Composer. The only thing I could view was a spinning circle and the text “Loading…” in the VC box. The first trouble step I did was save the page, however, I couldn’t even save the page. Instead I got a “No data received” message from my browser.
I then went to the “X” forum and found posts about VC and Godaddy having a problem. None of the posts had solutions.
I called Godaddy (several times). I edited my php5.ini file with the following:

  • memory_limit = 256M
  • post_max_size = 190M
  • upload_max_filesize = 190M
  • max_execution_time = 120
Nothing Godaddy had me do, fixed the problem. Godaddy then turned on Error logs, and after reviewing my error logs it showed that the site was using 300% more than the allowed memory on a “deluxe hosting account”. Godaddy informed me that there are 3 applications running more than 128m of memory each and pulling from several connections. They said that with the overload of processes and memory, there is nothing to be done to fix the site, except move to another hosting.
If this is the case, I feel that “X” theme should state this somewhere on the pre-sell side. The X team has known about this problem for quite some time now, and has known there isn’t a solution. I don’t blame themeco for the problem, but I do blame them for not warning people before purchase. A little clause would have be nice ….”Some users experience problems using “X” theme with Shared Godaddy hosting”... Unfortunately, I am unable to move the site to another hosting account. My only solution is to uninstall “X” theme.
:(

Hi There,

As has been communicated in these comments and a sticky thread in our forum, a select group of users (certain users on Godaddy AND using Visual Composer) have experienced issues. The developers of Visual Composer confirmed the issue and yet gave no time frame on a fix for it. Keep in mind that every time a person switched away from Godaddy the issue was resolved. We have spent dozens of hours investigating it and posted our results in the sticky thread in our forum as well as to the Visual Composer staff (as you can see in the videos in our forum sticky thread, the same thing happened on GoDaddy’s servers when using other themes such as TwentyFourteen – a WordPress developed, core theme). As such it is not a problem specific to the theme rather a combination of GoDaddy’s limiting of memory and an issue in Visual Composer that their developers confirmed they are aware of. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us. We will be happy to take the information you have provided and share it with the Visual Composer folks in addition to all the other data we have shared with them to date. Many thanks!

Hello again, I agree that you have mentioned it in your forum, but you have to have a purchase code to get into your forum. Therefore it is not a “pre-sell” warning. I still think your theme is great, its a beauty. However, with your theme having a known issue like that with a server that is so largely used, Godaddy, I think it deserves to be mentioned in a pre-sell. As for contacting you, I have, and have not gotten an email back.

All emails are responded to relatively quickly (usually within a few hours) and there are zero outstanding emails at the moment – all have been responded to. If you are sure it was sent via our contact form then we never received it, so please resend.

Keep in mind the issue is not a “theme” issue but rather with a plugin and hosting provider (in certain circumstances). We will look into making a notation of this somewhere on the listing while the Visual Composer folks continue to investigate.

Many thanks!

I have been racking my brains and wasting hours trying to figure out why the customizer fails to save, retain and display the various settings. I just is not working at all. Very, Very Frustrating!!!!!!!!

I can assure you that all threads are read and responded to. You’ll notice in our sidebar that responses can take up to 24 hours although they are usually faster. If you have posted your question there, keep in mind that they are answered from oldest to newest and please remember not to add to the thread or “bump” it as this resets the time. If you have not posted the question, we invite you to do so, and a member of our team will be happy to help. Cheers!

I have done everything that you have asked, I have read the documentation and watched the videos but the damn thing is not working, no matter how much you try to direct me towards a solution; it is not working as described.

Also, you are not answering in the forum oldest to newest as several posts that were entered after mine have already been answered by Sonia.

We have no one on our staff named Sonia, so you must be seeing a thread from another customer. We do work to answer threads from oldest to newest as that is how they are arranged for our support staff to answer. If some issue is fairly complex and needs specific attention it may take a little longer to answer.

Thank-you for your patience.

Hi, just purchased the template, I would like to know why I did not appear in the customize section option SLIDERS, WooCommerce, including missing … Thanks

Ok guys, so it took me a while, but as promised… PURCHASED! Looking forward! :)

Looking forward to having you on board, my friend! (There is a new update due later today or early tomorrow, just FYI).

Hi, this is a great theme! Whre can I find the “x-recent-posts” widget you are using on the sidebar Icon 3? I’m having trouble getting the images that wide. Best regards!

Hi There,

Thanks for your kind words! We are simply using the Recent Post Shortcode which you can learn more about and customize to your liking here. We also made the sidebar extra large in that demo which is why the images appear so large. This can be modified in the Customizer.

Cheers, my friend!

I have just uploaded and installed the X-theme and got the message:

Installation failed. Missing style.css <code> What to do?</code>

Hi There,

make sure that you’re uploading the x.zip file inside the x-package.zip file. This error will appear when you’re trying to upload the whole package instead of just the theme file.

Hope this helps!

Hey i was thinking of purchasing this theme and was wondering ahead of time how easy it is to set up the one page website like you guys show in the x theme demo?

thanks, christopher

Hi Christopher,

We provide instructions for setting up the one page functionality in our member area in addition to dozens of other resources including demo content, knowledge base articles, a forum, and more.

Hi – I’m not sure if this is the right place for my question but I’m just hoping somebody can answer. What kind of license should I get if I have a portion on my site that only paying members can view plus do additional functionality. Thank

The regular license would be fine as long as what people were paying access to was not somehow related to using the X theme in one form or another. If you are simply using X to power your membership site where people access your own product, info, etc than a single license would be fine.

Thanks

You’re most welcome :)

PRE-SALE QUESTION: For the video header as seen here; http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/ can you have this function as a slider and have different video headers on the slider?

Thanks

Hi There,

The video feature is integrated with Revolution Slider (the video part is integrated with a slide). Let us know if you need anything further, my friend.

Hi,

I have several presale questions: Is it possible to edit header.php, footer.php and style.css via wordpress editor or cpanel?

Vaidyz

Yes, of course. Keep in mind that due to the dynamic nature of X, those files might function a little differently than you are used to in most standard themes. Feel free to post any additional questions you may have here, and we’ll be happy to help. Cheers!

Hy,

Thank you for the fast response. I would like to make my website look like the 3rd demo if renew. What I would specifically want to achieve is the look of newspaper article or a book page. Clean white backround , first a picture under it a capital headline with a serif font and below that the copy. Also I would like to use icons instead of the pages in the menu bar. More specifically these icons http://freevectorsite.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Fitness-icons.jpg. Is that possibile? I want to achieve a clean look wich focuses on the content. I want to remove any distractions, like the sidebar, multiple colors and sticky social bars like digg digg. And I would like to make the nav menu unsticky. I really like your theme mainly because it offers many powerful features. For example I can make a landing page with a few marketing design principles in mind without a developer and without trying to explain my vision a lot. Here is the link to the 3 rd version of renew altough I am pretty sure that you know it very well since you designed it http://theme.co/x/demo/renew/3/blog/. I woul like to hear from you soon.

Hi Daniel,

The link you sent is not working, however the best thing to keep in mind with X (in terms of what is possible) is through browsing our demos. You can not use icons instead of menu items, however you can add icons to your menu items as shown here: http://theme.co/x/demo/renew/2/

Recreating your site to look like Renew 3 is not hard as we provide home page demo content in our member area.

Cheers!

Hi There,

Just a quick note that as of June 20, 2014 we have switched our Renew 2 and Renew 10 demos for organization purposes. The Renew 2 demo is now a one page example (using the Renew Stack) while the Renew 10 demo is the fullwidth colored bands. We wanted to pass that on to avoid any potential confusion since part of your question and/or our answer had to do with those demos. Cheers!

Hi, great theme, just purchase it.

A little question about onepage. Is there a way to build a onepage with the masthead left ? Do i have to put a name”title_01”, a name “title_02” and so on, then assign #title_01 etc… in the menu ?

With this way, i have to install an scroll plugin or custom JS to have a smooth scroll.

I thought there was an in the box solution for this. Thanks for the answer.

Cheers

OOoops… sorry, i’m gonna post in forum.

No worries, my friend :) We’ll see you in the forums…

Hi

Do you have any immediate plans to add a mega menu compatibility to the X theme. I am looking at Ubermenu to be exact.

Hi There,

No timeline with regards to Ubermenu at this time. Stay tuned to our listing for the latest news on new features and updates. Cheers!

Do you have any option to show related posts below each posts? Thanks

Hi There,

Not at this time. You can add use our Recent Post Shortcode as an alternative, however there is not a related posts feature out of the box currently. Feel free to direct all future theme related questions to our forum, and a member of our support staff will be happy to help. Cheers!

G’day… I’ve just purchased and installed the theme for a client, but unfortunately there is no simple explanation as to how to create a full-screen splash to appear when arriving at the base page in Integrity that appears as clean and effective as the one displayed on your demo… Could you please give me a quick hand on getting the home to display this way?? Thank you.

All good, I have figured it all out!

actually cancel that – i’ve figured out some factors of it but would really appreciate some assistance in figuring it out completely.

Feel free to open a thread in the forum, and one of our developers will be happy to help :)

Hello!

Really great job guys – gonna take some time and patience for me to get my head around all the possibilities!

What I really need is a grid item for my homepage, similar to Recent Posts, but that is Recent Portfolio items – in fact even better would be Random Portfolio items as I am building a cooking website and am making each recipe a portfolio item.

Is there a way to do this?

Just to add, I have now seen that I can select portfolio items when configuring the recent posts element – but is there a way to make them random rather than recent?

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in and we’re glad that you figured out how to filter your portfolio posts using the [recent_posts] shortcode. At this time, there is no way to make these posts random, but we are certainly aware some users would like a feature that does this and we are planning on implementing it for a future update.

Additionally, just to let you know we provide all of our official support via the forum in our member area. If you have not done so yet, please register for access to direct all future questions to the forum where one of our staff will be more than happy to assist you.
