Hi, I’m looking at X for my site. I am using gator host that has wordpress installed on its servers. When I look at themes in wordpress it has a place to upload a theme in a zip file. When i buy X is all i need to do is upload the theme to there servers?
Correct, that is how you install X as well as any theme. There will be some other configurations you’ll have to do once you activate it, but that is how you install the theme (or via FTP). Since you stated HostGator specifically, they have this article you may want to check out as well.
Cheers, my friend!
Are vc frontend editor bugs now fixed?
We are still waiting to hear back from their team with regards to their front end editor. The builder can still be used and is kept updated on our end just with that part out (as many other themes have done that integrate with VC).
Thx. Can you please ask vc to expedite the solution and provide a date? Does Live composer work flawlessly with your theme?
You are free to contact them (we have no inside way to get them to move faster). The builder can absolutely still be used, just not the live editor.
Hi, pre-sales question: I’m completely new to website building. I’m a business owner and I’m looking for a theme for my very first website, so please pardon me if this question is basic:
Blogging will be be a pretty substantial part of my website, although not the main service. So my question is will I be able to create a front page that highlights blog posts? Also am I able to install the little buttons below the post that readers to share my posts on different social media outlets?
Thank in advance!
Hi There,
Yes, you can do this with our Recent Post Shortcode as demoed here: http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/shortcodes/recent-posts/
There is also an social sharing shortcode we call Entry Share which you can read about here: http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/shortcodes/entry-share/
I would suggest going through the demos, shortcodes, and other feature pages to see all that you can do with X.
Let us know if you need anything further…
Cheers, my friend!

Hi Guys.
I know you’re all busy with the WP 3.9 update, I posted on the forum yesterday and as yet have received no reply. I have read the help and tried to sort things out by myself. A little help would be appreciated please guys.
Hoey
All threads posted yesterday were responded to, and the most recent thread I see from you was 2 weeks ago which was responded to. Please contact us with a link to your thread as I do not see anything outstanding from you.
I’ve done it. This is quite urgent and i would like some help please
We have responded to your email to help shed light on your thread (when you added to your thread it bumped it to the back of the line as stated in our forum).
Hi,
I have a few questions that I need answered before purchasing the theme. We like it a lot and are thinking of using it for our site, which hosts a multi-author blog as well as a quarterly journal. Although we do use some images and even the occasional video, the vast majority of our content is text-only. We’re looking for a way to highlight our most recent content in a clean, elegant way on the homepage. (Your font and full-page layout options are very attractive in this regard.) Would the theme’s widgets and slider work for us? In particular:
- How do your widgets work with content that is text-only and does not have a featured picture or video?
- Will such posts work with the slideshow, featured category widgets, and so on?
- White kind of widgets does the theme have (featured category, featured posts, recent posts, etc.), and how flexible is their layout?
- How will these widgets handle posts when some have featured images and some do not?
- Are there any examples of magazine-type sites using your theme that we could check out?
Thanks!
Hi There,
I think I’m a little confused by what you are referring to as “widgets” The current widgets built into X include a Recent Posts, Dribble, Flikr, Revolution Slider, Custom Menu, etc then the starndard widgets from WordPress such as Categories, Search, Text, etc.
With the Recent Posts Shortcode, you can have a featured image or not as well as some other options you can control. You can read more about that here: http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/shortcodes/recent-posts/
We do not have a magazine-oriented demo at this time, however our next Stack which is in development will have some exciting things to show on this front
Let us know if you need anything further, my friend!
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I’m a complete newbie to all this, so I’m probably not employing the clearest terminology or phrasing my questions in the best way.
Is there a way to display recent posts by category, with excerpts from the text (or, better yet, a brief description of the article) in addition to the title of the post?
As for the slider: am I correct in assuming that it will only work with posts that have feature images?
Also, is there a way to add a sticky image to the front page, which we could update periodically (e.g., an image of the cover of our most recent quarterly, or something along those lines)?
Also, any idea of when the new magazine-oriented stack will be out, and what kind of new options it will feature? If we purchase the theme now, will we get the new stack when it’s ready and have an easy time porting all of our content to the new format?
Thanks again!
Basically, would there be a way to display recent posts on the front page so they’d look like the “Latest News” and “Latest Work” boxes here?
http://theme.co/x/demo/icon/4/Hey there,
Yes, you can absolutely recreate that look as it is one of our demo installations, which features different sets of functionality from the theme. The sections you’re referencing (i.e. “Latest News” and “Latest Works”) are built using our [recent_posts] shortcode, which we referenced above. At this time, this shortcode does not feature an option to output excerpt text, but we are certainly aware that some of our users would like this and are planning on releasing an update for this for a future version of X.
All future Stacks will be available for free as standard upgrades to the theme. Switching between Stacks is as simple as selecting a radio input in the Customizer, which switches out all the styling and functionality without any additional work.
Thanks!
How are those sections built using the recent posts shortcode? I only saw options for horizontal vs vertical layout, with or without images, and offset posts. I didn’t see an option for adding text or buttons, as is the case under the “Latest News” and “Latest Works” headings.
Also, what about featuring a sticky image on the front page? Could we have one, with recent posts arranged around it?
Hey there,
The text and buttons are implemented with shortcodes and standard text/HTML. You can easily layout pages using all of our shortcodes and stack them together to create more complicated layouts. We provide all homepage templates in our member area upon purchase, so you can simply copy and paste this layout into your editor and you’ll be good to go. We also have dozens of videos outlining how to utilize the shortcodes in the member area.
Regarding a sticky image on the front page, doing something dynamic like it sounds like you want would be a custom implementation and you would need to work on setting that up yourself.
Thanks!
Thanks for all the swift replies. Really impressed by the (not-even-yet-a-)customer service!
You’re most welcome, my friend…
Hello there,
Thanks for such a great theme, really loving it so far.
I’m really sorry for the dumb question, but I cannot find the video tutorial for creating a video header like Integrity 1. I’ve looked all over the member’s area but I can’t seem to track it down!
Please could you help?
Thanks
Thank you for your kind words, my friend! We have a video that walks through the Integrity 1 setup here: http://theme.co/x/member/kb/demo-content/ (bottom of the page)
Cheers!
Genius, thanks for your help. I’d totally overlooked that video!
You’re most welcome
please I have asked 2 times in the forum and have not received a reply, I need a solution, thank you:
http://theme.co/x/member/forums/topic/im-not-a-pro-vimeo-user-urgent/Hi There,
your ticket is only 3 hours old and as you can read in our forum policy tickets can take up to 24 hours till they get answered although most of the time it’s much quicker. As for your question: you will need a Vimeo Pro account to natively embed videos on your site. If you just want to show the Vimeo video player then use the video embed shortcode instead of the shortcode for self hosted videos.
Hope this helps.
Is this theme compatible with jigoshop?
Hi There,
we are supporting WooCommerce as shop system. Currently we have no plans to add another shop software like jigoshop to our supported plugin list.
Quick question-I will need to add an event calendar plugin and a basic membership plugin (paid membership, forum) to this theme for a project I am working on - can I assume that standard Wordpress plugins are compatible with this theme? Thank you!
Sorry, my dashes in the original question triggered a strikethrough I did not intend. Here is my question without the strikethrough:
I will need to add an event calendar plug in and a basic membership plugin (paid membership, forum) to this theme for a project I am working on. Can I assume that standard Wordpress plugins are compatible with this theme? Thank you!
Hi There,
most plugins should work fine although we do not provide support for them so if there is something not working you are on your own. We can give you some hints but please understand that we can’t provide support for all plugins we did not even develop. Hope this helps if you have any other questions feel free to get in touch.
Thank you, understood. Do you plan on adding a membership plugin or a calendar event plugin in the future, or do you already have those and I missed it? Thanks!!
We do not as this goes well beyond the scope of a theme and would be better suited in a 3rd party solution. Cheers!
Hope this gets patched up quick. Godspeed, Mr.X
Visual Composer already released the patch, and we are making it available in our member area while we resubmit the theme to ThemeForest with the new file included.
Godspeed to you, my friend
HUGE ALERT!
Visual Composer is NOT compatible with WP 3.9!!
Issues: - editor WYSIWYG windows show white on white text (not the code tab). - added text blocks will break the structure, resulting in adding lots of VC code to the page when saved.
Until a fix is released, it is impossible to edit any page. No work can be done. Please guys get this fixed fast!!
Thanks!
Take a deep breath
It’s going to be ok…
First off, we were unaware 3.9 was even out. I just checked and it came out literally a couple hours ago. X is compatible with this latest version as we just tested it, so all good on that front.
It appears Visual Composer has already released the patch for their plugin. We are making that file available in our member area and will resubmit the theme to ThemeForest with that file included as soon as possible.
No need for any alarm, these things can happen in development and thankfully the folks behind Visual Composer were quick to get the fix out.
Hi there!
Great to hear, thanks for replying so fast
I am well ware you guys didn’t see 3.9 coming. I think hardly anyone did – or expected it after two earlier updates in like a day
I never meant to hold you guys responsible for this, how can I? I just wanted it to be fixed fast. I am – and many I suppose – in the middle of a project that I need to finish in time. It’s WP Bakery that needs to fix this, and I am very happy to hear they already have. That is excellent work!
For the alarm, well, I actually messed up parts of a huge page when I saw what was happening. The whole structure exploded
I didn’t want others to have the same problem. Better hands off than sorry
Great the update is available soon in the member’s area. Will there be a notice here when it’s available?
Thanks again! Tom
It is available now, my friend. If you head on over to the forum page, you’ll see a big blue message box at the top with a link to download it.
Thanks, Tom!
That is REALY fast! Works like a charm, thanks guys, amazing!
Our pleasure, my friend

All Our Best,
I have a quick question about your licensing.
I’m a developer and typically do most of my development on my local server, then install on my own live site for customer review and further development, and finally install on the customer’s domain to make it live.
I understand the license is only for one site, but am I going to have to change my workflow or buy multiple licenses, even though it’s ultimately for only one domain?
Thanks
Hi There,
You will not have any issues using a development server then moving that license to your client site when ready.
I use hostgator to host my sites. Is the issue of using 300% more memory than allowed which i am just using atutor situation as example a problem with Hostgator?
My apologies, but I’m not following what you are asking – could you please clarify? I’m also not seeing a purchased badge next to your name.
No i do not have a purchase, i just did not want to run across the same situation atutor11 had and is not able to use his theme. Is this section for purchase only? He stated go daddy hosting has a problem with the x theme eating up his hosting memory. Apparently as i read down another user states it is not just go daddy but other shared hosting plans. If i am not suppose to ask a question here until i buy then no worries. I’ll stop while i am ahead. Have 10 sites built with rapid weaver and was thinking about switching to wordpress and this looked like a good theme to start with.
This is a fine place to ask, I just didn’t understand the question.
As we have communicated, the theme works fine, and the issue is not with the theme rather strong memory limits by GoDaddy and a bug with Visual Composer that their developers confirmed with us. There were a select group of users who had issues when using a specific plugin (Visual Composer) on a specific host (GoDaddy). Those customers can absolutely still use the Shortcodes on their own just without the page builder functionality. As we have shown via video in our member forum, the exact same issue happened with other themes we tested, even a WordPress core developed theme like TwentyFourteen.
We have not seen any issues with HostGator that were not able to be resolved.
We also replied to your email, so if you have any further questions feel free to let us know.
Thank you!
You’re welcome
I just performed an update however, not sure if it is successful. After the update, the X version reads 1.8.2. Is this the new version or the old. My FTP replied that the transfer was successful.
Thanks Mark
That is the latest version, yes
Feel free to direct any other questions to our developers in the forum, and they’ll be happy to help. If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here: http://theme.co/x/go/regsiter.php
Thanks, Mark!
Okay, I think they should label them.
Not a bad idea. Regretfully, we have no way of controlling how ThemeForest displays data on the Download page, but it might be worth an email to them recommending this as it’s a good idea.
Hi there,
I am considering buying this template but I need to know if I am able to do this:
The homepage would behave like a single-page site, but some sections would link to other pages within the site which should be customized separately. In a way it would be a hybrid kind of website. How easy can this be made, if possible at all?
Thank you for your time
Hi There,
You can have a one page homepage that links out to other pages with more standard navigation (their own menu, etc). In addition, you can also include links out to other pages in a one page navigation.
Let us know if you need anything further, my friend!
Thanks!
You’re welcome!
Hello, I’m considering to buy this theme for my website.
I need something easily customizable and flexible, with different designs/layouts for each page, is that possible?
Also, is your code clean enough?
I mean, can the templates files be easily modified if I need a special layout or functionality that isn’t doable through the Customizer? I’m qualified with HTML/CSS and I know how to use the Wordpress tags, however I used them like 5 years ago, and i don’t have a lot of time to get back into it, the website needs to be done quickly and I want to make sure that this theme will help me achieve that.
Thanks!
Hi There,
Thanks for considering X. We feel X is a good blend of high end functionality mixed in with an easy to use interface that appeals to both beginners and even the most advanced developers. While with any new product, there is always a bit of a learning curve this is especially true with a product as dynamic as X. At the end of the day, the best way to answer your question would be to read through just a few of the testimonials we’ve received in the past month (on our ThemeForest listing) as you’ll see a wide range of comments from complete beginners all the way to seasoned developers.
With regards to editing the theme, we provide child theme templates in our member area, and we recommend using them for all theme edits so updating the theme in the future will be quick and easy.
While we can’t specify whether the process will be quick or easy for you, we can assure you that we pay attention to the details both in our creation of X and our support of it.
Let us know if you need anything further, my friend!
Hello, the X theme looks awesome and fully customizable. But before purchasing it I have some questions I need to know. I have to design a simple e-commerce website with only two products which will be sold via Paypal. -Do I need to purchase any further Woo Commerce applications for this? -Is it fairly simple to integrate the Woo Commerce cart with the X theme? -Do you offer tutorials for this or support videos? -Do I have the option of only accepting Paypal payments and not credit card? Many thanks for your answers!!
David
Hi David,
While we provide integration with WooCommerce, all the things you are referring to above would have to do with customizations you would be responsible for doing after purchasing. You can visit the WooCommerce site to check out their other extensions to determine what you may need. X will provide you with the styling of your shop (and 3 unique shop designs at that – one for each Stack), however anything that has to do with payments, product fulfillment, etc would be outside the scope of what you are buying with X. We do have a video in our member area that shows how to quickly setup the basics of your WooCommece powered shop in X, but beyond that WooCommerce would be the source to contact about additional integrations and functionality.
Let us know if you need anything further, my friend!
Thanks for you quick answer!
Our pleasure
Great theme, just a question: recently the dropdown menu (the main top menu) does not display submenus on hovering, is it something todo with Wordpress in general or is there a way to fix this pertaining only to X?
Thanks
Hi There,
We’d be happy to help get that sorted out for you. If you have not registered yet for access to our forums, that is where our developers provide all theme support. You can register here: http://theme.co/x/go/register.php
Feel free to browse the forums before posting, however if you unable to find the solution, go ahead and open a new thread. Cheers, my friend!
