Hello, is it possible to enable breadcrumbs without the page title enabled?
Or, is there a shortcut I can use to add breadcrumbs in determined pages only?
Thanks
No, the breadcrumbs are a global on or off feature (without customizing the code a bit). If you need anything further, a member of our development team will be happy to assist in our member forum.
Alright, thanks
My pleasure
Hi, I was quite impressed when I found your theme, especially the sales volume you have achieved so far. I have couple queries before I confirm the purchase;
1. Any demo for buddypress and bbpress? I couldn’t find it any where in your demo. 2. Is it good for news blog site? We didn’t find any similar from your demo. 3. Do I still need to optimize the theme after installation? If I run html validator online, just curious. 4. Is this theme pack compatible with UserPro plugin? just wondering
Regards,
Hi There,
Thanks for the kind words.
1) Indeed…you can click the icons in the menu for all the 01 demos to see BuddyPress and bbPress in action (the 3rd icon is for an optional search feature).
2) Sure, most of the demos have blogs that you can visit to see some of the many different blog configuration options and even unique blog configuration options for each Stack.
3) Not quite following what you mean here. Customers are certainly expected to customize the theme as they need.
4) We do not provide support for 3rd party plugins or guarantee compatibility unless they are integrated into the theme in some way. This does not mean they will not work (most do), we simply can’t provide product or compatibility support for something we didn’t first create or integrate into the theme in some way.
Cheers!
I have some plugins that will made all info that WordPress uses for the image: Title, Caption, Alt-Txt and Description available from exif data already entered in Lightroom.
Could this information be used with the Images shortcodes “info_content” and “title” ?
No, our Shortcodes are made by our team to work within our theme only. Making them work with other 3rd party plugins would be each customer’s responsibility as that is in the customization realm.
Hi,
I’m curious what updates are coming in 3.0? Am looking at other themes and was wondering if a smart header is in the pipeline? One where it can be transparent in a one-page parallax setup and then transform into a sticky header with shadow as one scrolls down?
Thanks.
Hi There,
We have many exciting new features coming out in 3.0, however new header options are not one of them (directly at least). Without giving too much away let’s just say there will be a lot of new functionality options with our upcoming release
Can I have related posts (based on the Category of them) and Recent posts (also related to Categories) shown on the page?
If I am on page for “Service A” I would like to have on the bottom of the page after the content a “Related Posts” with a certain number of posts from the same Category, and on the side bar I would like to have “Recent Posts” also from the Same Category. This way I would have “more fresh content” in one place and some other (related) in another.
There are some WordPress Plugin for this, like “Recent Posts” some modules of “JetPack” I believe will also give this capability.
Does X provide such functionality “out of the box”? If not, would such functionality provided by WP plugin inherit the style of the X theme?
Regards,
Paulo Tebet
There is not a related post feature out of the box. There is a Recent Posts Shortcode. Any sort of 3rd party plugin you use would not inherit theme styling by default as it is a 3rd party solution (unless we provide integrated support for it such as Gravity Forms).
Is there any “Related Posts” 3rd party solution for which X theme provides support? Thanks.
No, as our support covers features in the theme and integrated plugins. Customers are certainly welcome to use and customize 3rd party plugins, however our support does not cover 3rd party plugins or customizations.
I already know that we can not use multiple stacks on the same site.
What about multiple “styles” like Integrity 1, Integrity 2… Integrity 10 on the same site?
I am trying to build a “Siloed Site” with the home page going to multiple “mini site” with each mini site having it’s own landing page and it’s own identity.
Can you guys provide any guidelines and directions on how could this be acomplished?
What would happen if I use a demo page from a different Stack? Does it make sense to try this? Or are the Variations from 1 to 10 from Stacks the same concepts only with different styles applied to them?
Regards,
Paulo Tebet
Paulo,
I don’t think you are quite understanding what the demo content is/isn’t. It is simply content added to a page then set as the homepage. In theory, you could take the content you see on one and use it on another page in the same site, but don’t think of the Integrity 1, 2, etc as styles they are just examples. Structurally, you can’t mix them either because Integrity 1 has a different structural layout then Integrity 2.
Thanks. But what would be your suggestion to get “different looks” for different parts of the site? Create them using Visual Composer?
That is up to each customer. We provide the tools (VC being one), but how you ultimately layout and use the features, Shortcodes, and design elements is up to you.
I am trying to understand how this building blocks works together (or not). For example, I liked the way the Portfolio pages were build in Integrity 9. Is it possible for me to choose the Integrity 6 for the whole site, but somehow build the Portfolio functionality of the Integrity 9 in it? If this is possible how could this be accomplished?
Regards,
Paulo Tebet
Again, you don’t “chose Integrity 6 for the whole site.” Integrity 6 is just an example of what you could do (and we provide home page specific demo content as well as the Customizer import file to recreate the structural layout of that demo as well as the content on the homepage).
The Portfolio functionality is separate and based on your configuration of the Portfolio options. Each Stack has it’s own unique portfolio style, so since both examples are in Integrity, yes you could use the layout of the portfolio on Integrity 9 on Integrity 6.
Please take some time to read through our features as all of this is explained in detail there.
Hello:
I bought the theme some time ago but not used yet. The only thing that is avoiding me using X is related with the top menu. I only need a simple mobile menu as in union.co and a button close to the 3 bars icon. Something similar would be possible in the 3.0?
Thanks Jorge
Hi Jorge,
While the mobile menu we have certainly works on mobile, what you are referencing on union.co is not a mobile menu but rather a customized menu that simply appears/slides out upon click. While there is no feature like this in our 3.0 release, should there be enough demand from customers, it is certainly something we can look into for a later feature.
Cheers!
Hey guys, can you approximately say when version 3.0 is coming and did you also do some changes for the Portfolio section?
Best Regrads
Hi There,
We can not give an estimate as of yet, but we are close
We’re looking very forward to getting it into our customers hands. All of our current customers will receive the update for free!
There were no updates to the Portfolio functionality in this update.
Cheers!
Hi,
Integrity demo n.7: is it possible to have the footer?
Thanks!
Sure, we simply turned it off.
Ok thanks! I would like to create a single page website similar to Integrity demo n.7. I don’t understand if is possible to use pages like services or about us into a single page website or if they need to be separate pages on different urls?
You’re welcome
I’m not quite following the question as you can do either. If you are building a one page site then you would put the content of your About and Services on the one pager, however you could have your one pager link out to another page (About or Services for example) if you wanted. It’s up to you.
Is it possible to import the demo so that I can start working from there?
Yes. We provide demo content in our member center for customers (accessible after registering post-purchase).
Ok. I just purchased it!
One question: what is the font used in Integrity demo n.7 on the revolution slider (“we design to impress”) and how can I have it?
Welcome…we’re thrilled to have you on board!
That particular font is Lato.
Slider Revolution can pull that value in of whatever is being used in the Customizer, but if you want to use something custom you will need to load it in yourself with Revolution’s Punch Fonts Manager. You can also do it manually with some CSS as explained here.
Should you need anything further, we provide all support in our member forums, and you can register for access here.
Cheers!
Ok, I will register! Last question here: I imported the integrity demo, but when I add a text layer to revolution slider and try to change text font I can only select a few basic fonts like arial, etc but I can’t see Lato…
The font can be controlled by your typography settings in the Customizer so make sure Lato is selected there. If you need anything further, one of our developers will be happy to assist you in our member forum.
Cheers!
Just purchased – seems great theme. One question. I know it’s a custom version of Visual Composer so I didn’t expect it to be exactly like original. But I found their image module to be very cool as you can add animation effects like ‘enter from left’ etc. Are you planning to add these in your future updates? If not – any particular reason? I believe animation effects are very trendy nowadays…
Hi There,
You can add animations to elements using our Content Band Shortcode, and this video walks our customers through using the Content Band in VC and specifically talks about animations around minute 13. If you need anything further, a member of our development team will be happy to assist in our forum.
Cheers!
thanks a million! video explains everything.
My pleasure
Great theme!
Is there any possibility to install some pre configured themes, like the ones in the demos?
Hi! Impressive work I must say. I have a question regarding font scaling in this theme: I noticed that headings scale down when I resize my browser window – as long as they are h1, h2, h3 etc. But many of your styled headings are put within spans which do not scale down. Why is this? It does not look good on some screen sizes, and somtimes the text does not even fit.
I also have a couple of questions regarding the Customizer: can you style every aspect of let´s say a button? Like removing text shadow, adjust border radius etc? Is it possible to save changes as a draft, not publishing changes until they are reviewed and approved?
Keep up the good work!
Hi There,
Thanks for writing in and for the kind words about X! The only headings that we will include some amount of responsive styling for is post or page headings as we can easily predict how these are to be used within a layout and how they affect other content.
With regards to actual headings in content that a user might write in themselves, we do not provide any responsive styling for this as there is no easy way to determine how a user might implement this heading (i.e. if they’re styling it differently, utilizing our [custom_heading] or [feature_heading] shortcode with a different “level” selected to make it appear differently, et cetera).
Whether or not the heading has a span does not determine if it does not scale down, those are simply headings we’re placing in our content using our shortcodes, which do not feature responsive styling for the reasons listed above. If you want, we can certainly guide you through how to include various media queries in your theme to target certain headings and make them respond as the site gets smaller, or you can use our [responsive_text] shortcode if you’d like for a more fluid font size adjustment.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thanks for your fast response, that´s impressive too! I understand that the span element doesn´t determine scaling by itself, I just wondered why you didn´t use scalable headings all the way in your demo, since that makes it easier to see how the theme behaves on different screen sizes. Poor explaining from me.
I think you forgot to answer my other questions regarding the Theme Customizer. Would be nice to know those things too.
All the best!
Hey There,
Sorry about missing your last couple of questions regarding the Customizer. You can style nearly ever facet of the buttons. You can determine the style (3D, flat, or transparent), the shape (square, rounded, or pill) and the base size for all buttons across your site. Additionally, you can choose the text color, background color, border color, and button bottom color (if you’re using the 3D style), as well as all of these colors for the hover state of your buttons. While we do not have an option to remove the text shadow in the theme, you could easily accomplish this with a little CSS.
As for saving “drafts” of the Customizer, you could easily achieve this using our custom import/export functionality for the Customizer. With this, you can create a backup of your settings at any point, and use that sort of like a “save” for when you have some settings you like. If you want to revert back to a previous option, simply upload it and you’ll be good to go! The Customizer works in a live preview fashion, so none of your changes are pushed live until you hit the “Save” button inside of it, but you will be able to see your changes in the Customizer in real time, even before you save them.
Thanks!
Ah, forgot one question: how well is Visual Composer integrated with the theme? I have built sites with other themes that have VC bundled, and where VC still has it´s own styles on buttons etc. Not so good if a novice is supposed to maintain and update the site, since some design elements will not comply with theme design. Also, how well do you follow updates of bundled plugins like VC, updating your theme to include the latest versions?
Thanks!
We use a customized version of VC with X. It is custom tailored to work with our Shortcodes, and that is the version we keep updated/working with X. As such, we do not provide support for the standard plugin or include all features due to how the tool is used within X. Customers are certainly welcome to use any 3rd party plugin they wish, however from a support and compatibility standpoint, we only support and guarantee compatibility for the one integrated with the theme.
That sounds like a wise approach. Does this mean that any custom styles created with Customizer is usable from VC? Or maybe it’s the other way around, styles created in Customizer is “assigned” to existing shortcodes, and therefore usable in VC?
The Customizer and VC have nothing to do with each other. The Customizer is for site configuration, layout, typography, button styles, etc whereas VC is for building pages. You can see a video of our Customizer in action here.
OK. I’ll try an example: let’s say I alter a button style in Customizer. Then I will want to use that button when I build my page in VC. I thought maybe Customizer creates a custom stylesheet that overrides theme default css, and makes customized design elements available in VC that way. Do you see what I mean?
It doesn’t work that way…you simply set the button style globally in the Customizer, then wherever a button is placed on your site (say on a page you built with VC) it will have that style. You can alternatively add custom CSS on an individual button basis if you don’t want to use the global feature set in the Customizer.
OK. But when I set a button style globally in Customizer, the css values has to be stored somewhere, right? Like in a stylesheet that VC could be made to access too. I thought maybe that was one of your custom VC alterations. I just want to make sure that even a novice can build pages and use all types of styled elements in the theme through VC. In the theme I am working with now, VC has its own button styles (accessible from dropdowns in VC, fetched from VC:s own css/js/php files) which are very different from the theme buttons. You have to use the standard WP admin editor and put in shortcodes manually to use the themes designed buttons. Something you would not want a novice person doing, since there is a high risk of messing things up.
Hey there,
We do not use any of Visual Composer’s native styling. When you set your global styles using the Customizer they’re stored in a compressed output on your website. If you were to then add a button via Visual Composer, the button would acquire that global styling. As mentioned above, you can alter this further with some extra CSS, but the button itself will take your global styling from the Customizer and has no other options as we do not use any default Visual Composer styling or functionality. We have completely overhauled Visual Composer to simply use it as a drag and drop framework on the backend for our shortcodes, but not Visual Composer shortcodes, styling, or functionality is output on the front of the site.
Thanks!
Thanks! That´s all I needed to know.
My pleasure
Hi,
I have now purchased the theme and have been fiddling around a bit. It´s great that you have videos and faq´s on your support site, where one can find answers to a lot of how to:s.It´s also great that there is an option to apply your own classes to elements in your custom VC implementation.
This would be even greater if you could store the classes you create and make them accesible through a dropdown in the edit box (maybe also with an optional friendly name)t, rather than typing classnames in manually. Let´s say I build a site for a client and hand the site over to the client to maintain and update. It will then be hard for them to now what classes are created, since they only exist in custom css and the administrator of the site will have to remember all created class names and might not even know these things work.
I also wonder if it is possible to style woocommerce elements from wp-admin somehow?
Thanks!
Hi There,
Thanks for writing in and for your kind words! That is certainly an interesting idea for managing class names. While in theory I can see some benefits for this, I think in practice this it could potentially make things more confusing, especially for an end user. Regardless of whether or not your custom classes are in a dropdown to be selected or need to be manually typed, you will need to instruct your users on how to implement a class if needed on a section of content, so it doesn’t really eliminate that need to instruct or administer, it only slightly abstracts away some of the functionality of typing. As always, we will certainly take this idea into consideration, but cannot guarantee any implementation into the theme as we must ensure that any new additions can truly benefit the majority of our users.
Regarding the styling of WooCommerce elements, this is something you will need to do either via the “Custom” section in the Customizer or via a stylesheet in a child theme (if you are using one) to add CSS. The options included in the Customizer for WooCommerce have more to do with layout and functionality setup, and the design of these elements is meant to integrate with the overall styling of the Stack as well as certain option you choose (for instance, your global button styles are applied throughout the shop, et cetera).
If you need anything further, we’ll look forward to seeing you in the member forums as that is where all support is provided.
Thanks!
Hi,
Thanks for your usual quick response. Yes, I will of course have to instruct users on how to implement classes, among other things. But if classes created are stored and resuseable, and a friendly name explaining what the class is for is also attached, I am sure that all users could benefit from this. I imagine it might also be hard to remember the classes one creates over time, so I think this could be really useful.
Regarding styling of woocommerce: there are not so many things one can alter via the Customizer. What is implemented by you “behind the scenes” when it comes to woocommerce styling? Could I copy the woocommerce native stylesheet into my child theme folder and style things from there, overriding woocommerce default styling? I also notice that checking the “Disable Pge title” has no effect on woocommerce pages. How can this be done?
Thanks!
As stated before, we will consider the idea of a class dropdown, but cannot guarantee the implementation of this feature in the theme. The best thing I can recommend at this time is to provide your clients with a list of classes and when to use them for their reference when handing off the site, or to try and avoid the implementation of custom classes on your content altogether if you feel your client is not one who will keep up with this information well.
Regarding WooCommerce integration, you can see our file of complete customizations at /framework/functions/woocommerce.php within the theme itself. On top of this, we have complete custom styling for each Stack, which you can locate at /framework/css/site/woocommerce/. These files are minified, so you won’t be able to garner much from them, but the source files are located in the /framework/scss/site/stacks/ directories. Additionally, there is generated CSS based on options selected in the Customizer, which you can see at /framework/functions/global/admin/customizer/output/. There is custom CSS output per Stack, as well as some different styling output for widgets.
Finally, the “Disable Page Title” feature does indeed appear to be working as I have just tested it out myself to confirm. I would recommend toggling the feature, then saving and refreshing if you’re having an issue.
If the problem persists after that, please direct any future questions you might have about theme usage (this question or any other question) to the forum in the member center, which is where we provide all official support and one of our staff members will be more than happy to assist you.
Thanks!
OK, thanks. Sorry, I just happened to be strolling around themeforest, didn´t think about the fact that I should be using the member center instead.
You got it…thanks!
I am trying to figure out how to make the menu you guys made on this page: http://theme.co/x/ but I have no clue how you did it. How did you put the logo on a small left tab and make all the other menu tabs the same width and align them all to the center? Can you help me figure this out?
Hi There,
That is our sales page with a menu that was customized for our own use. The demos (in the demo section towards the bottom) show the menu styling/functionality built into the theme.
Cheers!
Oh ok, well is there a way to turn off the logo font and image so all that is shown is the menu tabs?
Presale Question:
Can Ethos do either/both of the following things…
1.) For blog posts,a masonry wall of uniform images where the title/date/etc. came up like the mouse-over in the carrousel (and more posts loaded as your scrolled down).
2.) A second carrousel made of posts of a different criteria – I review festivals in my posts, so I would like one carrousel to be old reviews of upcoming festivals and a second carrousel of recently written reviews of festivals that have just past.
Thanks in advance. So far in my research, I’m really leaning toward this theme.
Hi Kristian,
There is not an option for either of those features out of the box – would require customization.
Appreciate the kind words! Let us know if you need anything further
OK thanks!
Just a second thought – would I be able to make my post archive like the Portfolio page seen here – http://theme.co/x/demo/ethos/1/portfolio/ ?
Or is this, again, doable through customization?
Thanks!
Yes, that would also require customization as the portfolio functionality is specific to the portfolio. Here is an example of how the category/archive page can look within Ethos out of the box.
Gotcha. Thanks!
My pleasure
Hi there,
I almost finished with my websites but I have problem with post category and single post sidebar. I tried almost everything. Tried modifying code, but got to the point that it still doesn’t display sidebar on category correctly. On every post all sidebars.. Funny thing, uh?
BTW.. I’m using 1.8.4 version & I’m afraid to upgrade.. I want to finish my website ASAP
Help!!
Hi There,
One of our developers would be happy to assist in our member forum as that is where all support is provided. If you haven’t registered for access yet, you can do so here.
You’ll definitely want to update to the latest version as 1.8.4 is very old and a lot has changed since then
Hi,
I had questions before purchasing.
Fixed Side Navigation: Can this navigation be an accordion-like or is it currently just on hover, the sub-levels fly out to the side?
“Related Posts”: Do you have something similar to your related posts, but rather “Related Posts”?
Hi There,
No, the fixed left or right navigation can not be accordion-like…it is simply fixed. There is not a Related Posts feature built into the theme, however there are numerous 3rd party solutions for that sort of functionality.
Cheers!
Hello,
We have also found a problem with the mobile navigation. The menu collaps out and immediatly in. So nothing could be selected. See: http://goo.gl/iYnTMc
Regards, Rob
Hi Rob,
This can sometime happen when your updating the theme but not the Shortcode plugin or vice versa. Make sure you are using the latest version of both the theme and Shortcode plugin and everything should work fine.
If you need anything further, a member of our development team will be happy to assist in our member forums, and if you haven’t registered for access yet, you can do so here.

Presale question: Is this theme one time fee, or Have I to pay per every instalation on different domain names?.
For example, i want to use this theme in my-doain.net but 3 months later I want to use it again as theme in anotherdomain.com and maybe 3 more….
Hi Walter,
The license is for a single use, so if you wanted to use X on say 3 sites you would purchase 3 regular licenses. This is the same for all themes sold on ThemeForest.
Cheers!
Can I change the color of design in Integrity (or is the change light/dark the only way)? I want to use Integrity stack on my site with dark design, but with another color instead of #121212.
How and where do I change the header color?
Hi There,
Once the Stack is selected (say Renew), you would click the Renew tab in the Customizer and select the appropriate color under the respective section in that tab. If you need anything further, a member of our development team will be happy to assist in our member forum. If you haven’t registered for access yet, you can do so here.
Cheers!
Thanks but I don’t see the same options for Integrity
Each Stack has its own unique design options. For Integrity, the design options out of the box are header transparency, light or dark, and footer transparency. Please familiarize yourself with the unique features of each Stack by clicking on the “Integrity Features,” “Renew Features, etc for each Stack in our demos section.
Yes, so with Integrity it does not have the same color changing option like Renew. So am I just out of luck or can I do this in the css?
Sure, this can absolutely be changed with custom CSS, just keep in mind there are other considerations with each Stack as the reason some have certain features and others don’t is related to other features of the Stack design as well…but yes, can definitely be updated with CSS.
