As an FYI for anyone searching:
If you enable this theme, and get the error message “This is required to enable file writing for js_composer” and it wants to do an FTP update, but you don’t have FTP/SSH enabled, then do this:
chmod 755 /dt-the7/ chmod 777 /dt-the7/wpbakery/ chmod 777 /dt-the7/wpbakery/js_composer/
...Then go down a couple directories and: chmod 777 /wp-content/uploads/
Then switch to another theme, and back to this one. It should then do whatever it needs to do without error, or so I’m told!

Technically you can create “private” pages and show the goods list there. However I’m not sure particular shop item page can be hidden.

I would like to purchase the 7theme but I want to make sure that one significant for my purposes customization is feasible.
I would like to use an image as a background (sea waves) applied uniformly in a wide layout (all pages) keeping the top bar, footer bar the header transparent.
Is there any other theme much easier for me to customize with the same capabilities II have tried to apply the background to another similar theme which belongs to one of my associates with partial success.
Are there any instructions or CCS assistance that you can provide me. I have to warn you that I am not CSS literate just copy and paste what more experienced people can provide me. Please let me know if this possible Thanking in advance Sincerely Gerasimos

Thanks for explaining.
No need for CSS editing. This can be done easily in The7: you can just set that picture as the the “background under the box” and make it full-screen and fixed. Transparency of header and footer can also be easily set in theme options.

Is there a way to disable all comments as default like most wordpress themes work. There should be a way to TURN THEM OFF for everything. No Comments box on the post page, etc….

First of all, please note that managing comments is solely a WordPress feature. Themes should not interfere with it!

If I understood you correctly – you this can be done easily via Theme Options. Though you can take couple of minutes and post a link to a mockup of what you need to achieve, so I make 100% sure we’re talking about same things.

Hello, love The7 and using it for many clients lately! Just recently moved away from Chrome to Safari though and found a little CSS issue: In Safari, on my 15” rMBP, the top bar appears messed up. I tested in Chrome and Firefox and appears ok. What happens is that i added address, telephone number & email address in the top left and address appears on one line, while tel. number & email appear on the next line. Just wanted to let everyone know that “the7” is incompatible with the plugin WordPress MU Domain Mapping (this is one of the most used plugins in the multisite environment which allows you to map external domains to subdomains/subdirectories in the multisite environment).Theme support has decided to provide the following answer instead of looking into this further:

Thank you. I’ll ask our programmer to take a look when he will have a spare minute today or tomorrow. But please note that we cannot guarantee 100% that issue can be fixed: as I see (I looked through it very briefly) there’s some kind of a problem with wp-less class/plugin that is integral part of theme.
BTW, New version of The7 will feature option for JavaScript-based retina images rendering. If I remember correctly your hosting had issues with current feature realization since it has a build-in caching mechanisms
Thanks very much for looking into this. Im looking forward to your response on this (on this thread or the ticket) and i will be happy to update this thread as its searchable by search engines for any conclusions.
Regarding the retina image rendering, its great that rendering will be done in a way to avoid server caching. I hope I will still be able to use your themes new version (as i did before version 4.1.3) as the current versions have issues which make it unusable for multisite environments, which is our native way or working.
So, my Shop page which displays all of my products for sale, isn’t clickable on mobile devices? The submenus, which in my case are the Cart & Checkout are clickable, but not the main page with all my products?!?
When I discovered this today I was kinda floored, shocked, irritated, and confused. We definitely need to fix this.

Hello, I am enjoying using your theme. However, I have moved my site from localhost to a live server (test site) and all my custom theme options have reverted back to the default theme settings. My content is there but headers, footers, backgrounds, fonts are all the default settings? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance for your support:)

There’s a section in theme options called “Import & Export” that will help you to move setting from one site to another.
BUT. The best way to move your site from local environment to server in the internet is to use a “Duplicator” plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
It is free and works with The7 perfectly. Trust me, it will save you ton of time!

The theme is really bad in CSS I know less is better than using normal CSS codes but changing the background color for the navbar items is painful I don’t wanna use frame or underline I want to use background color and edit other items easily… use a basic names for every items next time

The7 CSS/LESS are optimal for a multiporpose theme. There’s no way to make it simpler, unfortunately.
