I read in the comments that there will be an update to the Revolution Slider plug-in by 12/28 – this does me no good. My host is threatening to suspend my account NOW. Is there any update on when the updates will be available?

Regretfully your host is misinformed as the issue has been sorted in Revolution Slider since around April of 2014 and by simply claiming that customers need to be on the 4.6.5 version of Revolution Slider (which just came out in December) they are misunderstanding that it has been fixed in the plugin for a long time – several release ago. Any version or Revolution Slider after I believe 4.6 has been patched by them, so that is the minimum version they should be mandating. Having said that our next version of the theme due out later today/early tomorrow will have the latest version of the plugin.
Can you borrow elements from stack to stack? Could I replicate the slider from Ethos Demo 1 into a page built on the Icon stack? I like the sliding photos with the blog post title on top (“County Living Made Simple”).

No, when our menu/nav is fixed left or right it it all the way against the side of the window.
Is it possible to have the mobile navigation slide in from the sides instead of expanding vertically?
The only option at this point is to expand vertically. You are welcome to customize the functionality to suit a specific need if you like.

I am considering using the X theme for a new website. Within the website, I want to have a password protected area of multiple pages. I understand how to use WordPress to password protect single pages—but I want to put a single password on an entire section of my website. I want the user to be able to insert the password and be granted access to multiple pages of content and a private blog. Is that an option within the X theme? If not, is there a plug-in that you recommend using that would work properly with the X theme? I need to know if this is possible before I start building my website with the X theme.

If it goes beyond password protecting a particular page, you are starting to get into the realm of membership plugins of which there are many out there. I would suggest finding the one that suits your needs the best as there are many options (Amember, MemberMouse, Restrict Content Pro, etc).

Thanks for the response! Would these plug-ins allow me to still use all of the design features of the X theme? All I need is one password (not members), and multiple pages of content available after that password. Do you have a specific plug-in that you recommend trying first?

Plugins simply sit atop WordPress, similar to how a theme would so while we can’t guarantee compatibility with 3rd party solutions we haven’t developed ourselves, as long as they are following best practices, they should play nicely with X. If you’re looking for clean and simple, perhaps start with something like Restrict Content Pro to see if that would suit your needs.

The closest thing to that out of the box that you could do would be to use our Recent Posts Shortcode to display recent portfolio items as that is an option when using the Shortcode.
Hello! I’m almost convinced that X (and Icon, specifically) is the perfect theme for my site. I have a few pre-purchase questions that hopefully you have answers to.
I’m looking at Demo 1 of the Icon stack, specifically, for each question.
(Sorry if I don’t use the right terms for any of this, I’m no expert!)
1. In the blog and portfolio views (and single portfolio pages), the images have a border around them. Is it possible within the customization to remove the borders in each of those uses? How about the border around Featured Posts in the sidebar? Is it possible to have the images in blog posts span edge to edge across the entire container?
2. Can I make the portfolio display in a grid with standard image sizes instead of the masonry layout?
3. When you hover over each portfolio item, you see an icon. Can that be changed to display the title of the item and/or the category?
4. Can I remove the icons next to the blog post titles? I’m only going to produce “traditional” blog posts and want to remove any trace of “tumblog”-style layouts.
5. The Shop page displays differently than other pages, in that it doesn’t have a boxed on the sides. Also, the scrolling sidebar element is a different width. Are those customizations? Do I have control over those things on each page of my site?
6. Is it possible to set the sidebar to scroll along with the main content instead of independently?
7. MegaMenus: Can they display something other than words/links? I’m imagining a multi-column MegaMenu where the last column has an image, for example. Similar to this.
I think that’s it (ha!). I know this is a lot, but I appreciate you answering my questions. I had a bad experience with my last theme because of terrible support and I’m happy to see ThemeCo has great reviews in that regard.

Hi There,
1) These would each require some customization. How you see them in the demos is how they function out of the box. The options for customizing options in the Icon Stack (without having to get into the code) can be seen here.
2) Not sure what you mean here but if you are asking whether you have to display the images in a masonry layout, you do not. You can have a standard layout however the size of the images on the index is related to the size of the actual images (there is a “Cropped” image option and as long as the images are large enough based on a user’s input for a Stack, they will all be cropped to the same dimensions).
3) Yes, with customization. Anything can be achieved with getting into the theme files and customizing as needed.
4) This would again require slight customization as the icons are part of the design for the “Icon” Stack.
5) Not quite following what you are getting at here. Can you please explain further?
6) It would require customization as that is the purpose of the sidebar on Icon – to scroll independently.
7) No, our integrated MegeMenu option is only for navigation/text/links. Customers are welcome to integrate other 3rd party solutions they may need, however at this time that is the purpose of the integrated MegaMenu option.
It’s important to understand that most of your questions have to do with customizations to core features, so while technically anything is possible, customizations each customer’s responsibility post purchase.

Thank you so much for your fast reply! I assumed a lot of that would require getting into theme files, so thanks for your help. If I run into problems editing theme files, will I be able to get help in your forum? Or are you guys very hands-off with anything like that?
To expand on Q5:
The home page of Icon Demo 1 has, from right to left, the sidebar, an empty space, the main column, then another empty space (the main column is “boxed in” between empty spaces). On the Shop page, the main column meets the sidebar without any space in between. If I wanted every page (home, portfolio, blog) to look like the Shop page in that regard, is that a theme option for each page on the site?
Also, the sidebar on the shop page is a slightly smaller width than the sidebar on the home page. Is that a theme option as well?

I also just noticed the top menu is different for the Shop page vs. other pages. Can I change the top menu from page to page (parent to parent) as well?

Regretfully we cannot provide customization support, however there are numerous companies and even specific providers we recommend who are very familiar with our theme are happy to take on customization jobs for clients. Related to the boxed/fullwidth question, yes I’m tracking now You can make the site boxed or full width. Keep in mind this is a global setting that affects your entire site.
The sidebar width can be set in the Customizer in relation to the other content areas of your site but keep in mind that this again is a global setting. The reason it looks slightly smaller there is because we have it on a separate install for demo purposes when normally the plugin (WooCommerce) would be integrated on the same install).
Regarding the menu, you can set a unique menu on a page by page basis.

Hi. I’m trying to register myself to the theme.co website but I get this message: “Sorry, but that item purchase code has already been registered with another account. Please login to that account to continue, or create a new account with another purchase code.” I don’t remember registering before and have no idea what my username/password is… Any help?

We need Revolution Slider version 4.6.5 or our hosting company is going to block the plugin from our website. Currently in your lastest theme update available for download, version 4.6.0 is available. Can you help with this. I have till the 28th of December 2014 to take care of this.

I am looking for a website/shop combo, now I need to know if I able to add multipel options to a product that will change the price of the product. So if you would select W: 1 and H: 2 (as options) the product would cost 10,- but if you select W: 2 and H: 3 the product would cost 15,-.

This has more to do with WooCommerce functionality, so you might want to head over to their website to learn more about the plugin itself, but you can certainly have the price of an item be altered based on various options. You can go to this page to see an example of how this might work (even though the price doesn’t change, you can certainly set it up this way in the plugin to do so). Again, if you’re still learning a bit about how WooCommerce works, definitely take some time to read about it on their website as that knowledge will be invaluable to you so that you know what the plugin is fully capable of.

Hi, Pre sales question: Can the ‘add to cart’ button to be always visible instead of needing user to “mouse over”? In mobile/tablet, user can’t “mouse over” hence, the ‘add to cart’ button is always hidden.

I see that you have the option of doing a portfolio page (http://theme.co/x/demo/icon/1/portfolio/) but I like to create a home page that has no padding in between the image icons like the demo link above. Also, could each of the images be linked to a page instead of a post?
If this isn’t doable, could you offer any support to make it possible? In terms of css coding or other codes that would make this type of home page a reality for me.

Will the portfolio images be able to link to pages and posts? However we wish?
The portfolio images link to the single page of the respective portfolio item.
How easy is it to add AD BANNERS when configuring this theme? Are there any demos that show a video based layout?

While there is not an ad management system, adding banners would be very easy in one of the widget areas, and there are widget areas in the header (a drawer), sidebar, and footer.
Our Integrity 01 Demo utilizes our video header feature which at present allows you to add a video loop as a background. You can also add a video as a background when using our Content Band Shortcode.

Hi I’m not good at code and need to fiddle with Facebook’s ot:g code in order to have them pick up different images upon linking in FB. Plus your header.php is kind of buried where I can’t find it. As a feature request, could you guys maybe add a field in the customizer? Pretty much everyone shares their sites on Facebook. Thanks!
Sure, you can take a look at our OpenGraph code in this file of the theme: x/framework/functions/global/social.php The function “x_social_meta” can be copied to a child theme’s functions.php file for modification.
If you really need to fine tune things, we would recommend using a plugin to assist you. We’re not trying to reinvent the wheel, so we just added a very basic OpenGraph implementation for sites that may not need the weight of an extra plugin. We certainly understand many users need more control over the text and images to be presented for FaceBook. For this we recommend disabling the X OpenGraph tags via the Customizer and using a more full featured plugin like WordPress SEO.

I have a pre-sales question:
We are looking at changing the theme for our blog and X definitely looks interesting. Currently we have 3 different ad spots on our blog that we’d like to keep the same size and in the same position. Our layout is basically two column with a main column and a much thinner right-hand sidebar. Our ads are a:
Banner – 729×90, across the top of the page Tower – 300×600, begins at the top of the sidebar Button – 300×300, exists between the first and second posts only
Would it be easy for us to modify, say, the Icon Stack to include these ads and their postions/sizes into the layout?

Adding sidebars to the single product pages has not been available across the board for several reasons both developmental and design wise, however the Icon Stack does allow for this due to its unique independent scrolling sidebar (and you can certainly have a sidebar on the shop index page which you can set in the Customizer).
