I may also be purchasing this theme soon. But before I would purchase it, I need to know, does it integrate with Libsyn and maintain the same appearance and functionality? My podcast will be hosted by Libsyn. Thanks.
Podcaster does work with Libysyn, but it depends on how you are using Libsyn. Will you be writing the posts there and cross-posting them to your WordPress website, or will be using Libsyn for hosting your audio files only? Will you be using a Podcasting Plugin such as Blubrry Powerpress or Seriously Simple Podcasting? All those methods are compatible with our theme, but have different ways of going about them and aren’t all fully supported the way it’s displayed in the demo. I may be able to give better advice if I have more information.
Hello, I’m looking to buy this theme but have a question. Does this theme work with Libsyn and Powerpress?
Thank You!
Podcaster is compatible with Libsyn and PowerPress but not fully supported. If you use PowerPress, the player on the front page is replaced by a play button for now. Are you going to be using Libysn for file hosting only, or will your be cross-posting from Libsyn to WordPress? That also makes a difference. With more information, I might be able to give more detailed advice. Thank you for your patience.
Looking at this theme for our podcast website. We are using Blubrry PowerPress Plugin. Just want to make sure before making the purchase that this won’t break our feed like I read in a previous comment. It was 9 months ago but I want to make sure. We’ve had this happen in the past to our feed and it is difficult to deal with. We are currently using the Vibration theme by Skyali.
Also, does this theme come with a child theme built into the download?
Thanks for considering Podcaster. This was fixed back then. If you are already using Blubrry PowerPress, don’t install any further podcasting plugins, and everything should run smoothly. Be aware that if you are using Blubrry, Podcast will not be able to display a player on the main page, but instead display a play button which leads to the post. We are currently working on setting up different demos to show this properly.
I updated the theme to the latest version, and now the titles are missing from my single blog posts! They show up fine on the blog page themselves (screenshot: http://prntscr.com/5oiijg), but when you click through to view the full entry, the title is missing (screenshot: http://prntscr.com/5oij08).
Where did the title go? I haven’t changed any settings with the theme; I simply installed a new update from Themeforest.
Thanks for letting us know. This has been fixed and should be available in the new update (will be out within the next couple of hours)
Thanks! I installed it manually since the Theme Update feature in the theme isn’t working.
The player on my site is not working, I know you said that the update will fix it but the auto update feature isn’t working even though I have input the correct API and Username.
If the auto update isn’t working, please download it from themeforest.net and install it manually. Sorry about that!
My backend does not show any options to modify the feed settings. When I use http://magetalk.com/?feed=Podcast I get an error saying it’s not a valid feed template.
Please help; this is my 3rd support request for this same issue.
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble setting the RSS feed up. Could your please make a dummy account with admin rights for me? Please use the email support@themestation.net so I can log in and take a closer look at what is happening. Thank you.
Hi,
I’m on the process of moving my mp3 files over to Libsyn. They did an import but my feed only contains the last 10 episodes. I’d need to have all of them imported.
I wish to continue using the theme, but would like to host with them and change to their feed.
Are there any instructions on how to achieve this without losing subscribers?
Thank you!
Hi,
I need to add this tag to move my feed to libsyn, what would be the best way to do this?
<itunes:new-feed-url>
I found these lines in feed-podcast.php:
<?php if( isset( $new_feed_url ) && strlen( $new_feed_url ) > 0 && $new_feed_url != '' ) { ?>
<itunes:new-feed-url><?php echo esc_url( $new_feed_url ); ?></itunes:new-feed-url>
<?php }
Should I insert the new url there?
Thanks!
Are you using “Seriously Simply Podcasting” to manage your podcast? If yes, you can set the new feed in the settings area.
In case you are using our iTunes Feed plugin, we have updated the plugin (to 1.0.7) and included this feature as well. Simply go to the settings to turn on the redirect and paste your new URL. No need to touch the code.
Thanks for the heads up. I believe it was a really nice addition to the feed plugin.
Cheers!
We are trying to remove the widgets sidebar section from our “single post” pages and do not where to go to make this possible. Advice?
Unfortunately this cannot be done without having to go deep into the code and framework of the theme, which I do not recommend. This does however sound like a good idea for a feature, so we’ll think about including it in the next update. I will get back to this thread if we include it.
Thanks for the 4.1 update. Unfortunately, there’s a new issue, but not sure to what it’s related:
- poster avatar is showing on all posts, whether the bio is filled or not.
See: http://www.lesclairvoyants.net/les-clairvoyants-06-ultron-portrait-robot/
Biographical Info for that user is empty.
Could you look into it? Thanks!
Hi, you can turn off the avatars in your WordPress settings. Simply go to Settings > Discussion and scroll down to “Show avatars”. Deselect the box, save and the avatars will disappear. Hope this answers your question.
Well, not really. I want to keep avatars in the comments section, but not display them as post authors when the bio is empty. Reading the PHP code, that’s what the theme is supposed to do, but it’s broken since the last update.
<?php if ( is_singular() && get_the_author_meta( ‘description’ ) ) : // If a user has filled out their description, show a bio on their entries. ?>
...doesn’t work anymore, it shows whether or not the condition is true.
Removing the whole “if” section does nothing either, suggesting it might be overridden somewhere else, but can’t seem to find where.
There will be an update out within the next couple of hours. A section to manage avatars has been added in the theme options, so you can simply turn on and off where you would like to display avatars. Makes things easier and no need to touch code.
Awesome, thanks!
Hi! Tank you for a great theme. It’s just what Iw as looking for. I’m however experiencing a minor glitch in installing the theme. When activating the “Theme Station Podcasting Feed” I get an error about the plug-in missing a proper “header”. What does that mean and how do I fix it?
This is a bug we’re aware of and have been working on. It won’t influence the way your website works, it just concerns the plugin activation. To activate your plugins, please go to Plugins > Installed and activate them from there. Sorry for the inconvenience, we’re working on it.
To all those who have commented and messaged about the WP 4.1 player issue. Working on it right now, will be out asap. Stay tuned, thanks for your patience!
The bug has been fixed and the update has been out since yesterday! If you are having issues with the player after updating to WordPress 4.1 please update your theme. Thank you!
Wordpress 4.1 breaks the theme. Please advise, I’ve got a new episode coming out tomorrow.
A fix is on the way, but if you need something really quickly, please open your function.php file and comment out the lines
‘wp_enqueue_style( ‘themestation-audio-player’, get_template_directory_uri() . ’/css/audio-player.css’ ); ’ (around line 192)
and
‘wp_deregister_style(‘wp-mediaelement’);’ (around line 212)
This will get your player back, although it may look a bit wonky. That’s the bit that’s being worked on and might take a couple of hours. Sorry for the inconvenience!
Thanks. Did roll back to the previous WP version in the meantime.
I’m having the same issue that baskettcase and karlmarty have described—I updated to WordPress 4.1 and now the audio player appears to have been broken (see screenshot: http://prntscr.com/5il0l9)
Do you have a fix for this?

Just upgraded to WordPress 4.1 and now the audio player is showing the following texts “Use Up/Down Arrow keys to increase or decrease volume”. It doesn’t look good on the audio player, how do I take it out? Quick help would be appreciated as I just launched a new episode and this is the time where I get the most traffic. Thanks!

I did it and the player looks better now on the ‘Single Page’ but still looks broken on the home page. Is there a fix for that? And is the theme fixed now? Please advise, thanks!
Nevermind home page is now fixed as well, thanks!
Is there a problem with WordPress 4.1 and the theme? The audio in the header now shows instructions on how to advance one to ten seconds and increase volume, etc. Im guessing there is an easy fix, but Im not sure what it is

How does the css code need to be modified to entirely turn off the <responsive> component of the website?

Hi, First, great theme! Second, I work with a podcast called Science Faction and we’re trying to get our Itunes RSS feed set up to submit it to itunes, but it doesn’t seem to work (http://sciencefaction.ca/?feed=podcast) as when we try to enter it we just get a page that says “ERROR: This is not a valid feed template”. Our regular feed http://sciencefaction.ca/feed works just fine. What is going on?! How can we solve this problem? *Note that we currently have a “coming soon” page currently set up, so you might not be able to access any of the feeds, as we only can when we’re logged into our page and editing. Thanks for your time! Dalal On behalf of Science Faction
ps. Also sent a direct e-mail with the same question

Hello – after having this theme for a bit I’m finally getting the hang of it. One thing I cannot figure out is how to edit some of the text color. I set my highlight color to black, but I’d like some of the text that is tied to the highlight color to be white (ie the magnifying glass on the search button).
I am using a child theme however because this is marked as !important I cannot change the color. How can I override this?
Thank you for your help!
http://broadsheet.wpengine.com/blog/You can change the highlight color in the theme options. Below the section where you select the light/dark templates is the highlight color picker.
If you want to change the color of the magnifying glass only, the css declaration is ”.search-container input#searchsubmit[type=”submit”]” use ”!important” to make sure it overrides. Hope this helps!
Podcast Feed is limited to 10 episodes.
The podcast feed for the theme has started limiting itself to 10 items and it cutting off the 1st (as we’re on 11 now).
How do you set the feed to be unlimited? (this should be the default)
Here it is: http://thequantifiedbody.net/?feed=podcast
Answered your email!
Thanks, but that didn’t fix it. Sent you another email.

We’re working on fixing this. For now, please activate the plugin via Plugins > Installed Plugins. That should do it.
