Am using and loving the template… To this date I had YOAST installed to deal with SEO, however this plugin is too CPU demanding and we had hosting issues. Having it disabled I noticed that when sharing on Facebook I get a quite awful and ugly description (even if I setup an excerpt) because it show the categories, the time ago posted, author etc as it reads the article. Any tip to solve this?

SEO by YOAST adds Facebook Open Graph to theme, if you have disabled this plugin they are now probably removed. Can you send me URL to your site to support@mekshq.com so I can take a closer look.

Yes you can do this. When you do initial setup of your home page there is an option for module to display latest posts.

You need to add fix:

Currently there is no such an option for this. Why would you do this? Featured slider is only for featured posts on category/page. Single post is there for a reader that would like to read post content.

In addition to MartinChillz words, on iPhone or any other smartphone maybe it is good to delete slider but on ipad it looks great, and after last update scrolling and total speed is really better!

Like I said, we will consider this. We will also try to find a way to load smaller images in slider, there are a lot of ways to do this but we are still looking for one that will work on all devices.

Can you provide another theme option for uploading a logo for mobile devices? The logo that i use for desktops is just too tall and it is really cramped. Or you could make the mobile version use the logo from sticky header.

Feature request here: on the NewsMag theme, the post view counter works even if you have a caching plugin installed. However, this theme’s page view counter does not. Any recommendations? Or is this something you can make happen? I use WPengine hosting which uses caching on the server side by default.

Overall, this theme is excellent and easy to use. I strongly recommend it.
But it can be even better with minor improvements.
One thing that I’d like to point out with the loading speed of the mega menu.
I’d appreciate it if you can come up with a way to make the five latest posts load faster.

We had to make compromise here. If we add this menu to be initially loaded it can affect loading of your whole page – that is why we put AJAX call here.
I will talk with my dev team about this.
I see. I am exactly sure but five thumbnails shouldn’t take that long to load. Also I think i might be possible to make the menu loaded after the rest of the content is loaded. I have seen many examples of mega menus where loading speed wouldn’t be much of an issue.

You are right, we could do that, but this may overload your server resources because for example if you have 5 categories in mega menu, it will throw 5 additional AJAX calls on each page load, even if the visitors didn’t use the mega menu navigation at all. For websites with lots of visits this will be an overkill, for sure…
What we can do is to give some options there, so users can decide whether they want to have instant load or on mouse-over. Hope this makes sense.

You can do the same for single post, too.

But still, I have one thing that I we need to solve, is there a chance to optimize this theme for Mobiles, It seems kind a slow for mobiles, and I think it’s because the featured slider. I thought, maybe there is a chance so I can remove it on MOBILES only, not on the desktops, because it’s quite useful on desktop not on mobile.

Hi, not sure what it the problem. You just need to say “10” posts in Settings-> Reading and it should work. Maybe you have some caching on the website?

Hi, I just purchased your theme, and so far it’s worked out well. I am running into one issue setting up the home page. I followed the instructions in your documentation, but I get a 404 error when I reroute to the custom made “home page.” What can I do to remedy this?

This issue has actually not yet been resolved. The home page is currently only showing the latest posts and not the module page (http://onepiecepodcast.com/home-page). If I reroute it as per the documentation (Settings>Reading>Static Page, etc.,) it gives me a 404 error. Are there an recommendations you can provide? Thank you!
