I’ve got multiple portfolio categories that have nothing to do with each other. When i show the portfolio items from one categorie and open an item the top navigation next en previous links go to all portfolio items in every category… the back to all button i got right with the back_to_all_override field… How to get the navigation right?

Hey gijsv12,

The next update will include an option to constrain the single nav arrows within categories like that

Cheers

Hello, I would like to use icons as bullet points and using the nectar shortcode does not make them behave like bullet points. So, I have been using the “Text with icon” feature. However, the gap between each point is too big so I would like to reduce it please.

Please can you advise if I am better using “Text with icon” or inserting the nectar shortcode into a text box. Please have a look here to see what I mean: http://i.imgur.com/lZTrwQg.png

Thanks

Add this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:

.main-content ul, .main-content ol {
  margin-bottom: 0!important;
}
h5 {
  margin-bottom: 3px!important;
}

Thanks!

You’re welcome :)

Hi,

first thank you for the great work you did with this theme! I have only one question: where can i buy the liquid animation you used in the second slide of your theme? http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/

Hey Marc!

The source for that is listed in the dummy data section of the user guide :)

Cheers

Hi,

I’ve installed the one page- demo with dummy content. It works great. I’ve added a blog page to the site. When I click into the blog page the menu’s from the onepage become redundant. What I can I do to make them work again given that they only link to parts of the page. I need them to link back to the site.

Any tips or direction would be much appreciated.

Thanks. Joe

Hey Joe,

When using other static pages make sure you’re setting the anchor links with the full URL such as http://domain.com/#anchor rather than just #anchor

Hi TN,

On my site I use the Nectar short code ‘recent_posts’ as can be seen here: http://www.diskette.nl/kind/opvang-en-onderwijs/. Works like a charm, perfect.

To this short code however I want to add a ‘read more’ button. How can I do this?

Cheers, Marc

Hey Marc,

You’d need to edit the shortcode-processing.php file in regards which is located in the nectar/tinymce directory

Cheers

good day

I upgraded to version 5.0. and menus and corresponding control panel to salient not displayed correctly.

This did not happen with version 4.8. He wanted to know if this happens to someone else.

I’m using Mac, and I is happening in the three browsers you use. Safari, Chrome and Firefox …..

thank you very much

Hey caosic,

I have not heard reports of such but if you’ve ensured you did a clean update by first deleting the old theme files and there’s no plugin conflict please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a look at what’s going on :) themenectar.ticksy.com/

Is it possible that this theme does not allow you to create custom post types the usual way? Is there anything I need to know? Thanks.

Hey markimark,

the portfolio and nectar/home sliders are built using custom post types in the functions.php file – nothing special should be needed. Anyway you could share the code you’re using?

does this theme support comments on pages?

Hey markimark,

You’d need to add this into the page.php file:

<div class="comments-section">
    <?php comments_template(); ?>
 </div>

Cheers

Hi guys, please see ticket 350913

Thanks!

Will do as soon as I can hookieoalo! :)

Hi Nectar! Just voicing my +1 for a randomized Nectar Slider. I have a one-page landing site and would love for the image to be different upon each load.

While I have you – is there a better way (than the slider) for me to make a full-screen landing page (just a giant image with text)? And using the slider, is there a correct way to add links and text on top of it? Currently I’m formatting HTML within the captions box, is that the ideal way? Thanks a ton!

Hey staytooned!

Thanks for the +1 :)

The Nectar Slider would be the best way to achieve this now without custom coding – also using html in the caption field is indeed a valid way to handle this

Cheers

Thank you much!!

Follow-up question: If I wanted to use images as buttons, also on top of a full-screen image, is there a way to accomplish this via the VC, short of knowing how to code the HTML? Thanks as always, you rock!

Hey again! It would indeed have to be through html as there’s no element built in for that unfortunately

Hi, I have added a visual non-clickable label to my sidebar through the following code: #portfolio-filters-inline #current-category { display: none!important; } .tabbed ul.wpb_tabs_nav li { border-bottom: 0!important; }

Is there a way to decrease the amount of space below this tabbed item and the description text beneath it?

Thank you!

Hey Amy!

Could you kindly share the page URL so I can assist further?

Cheers

Hi! I feel so stupid asking this. But how can make my map look like the demo with flat colors? Mine looks like google maps but with selected colors. I want it just like the demo flat colored map.

Hey JosephNorori!

When using the visual composer google map on your page enable the checkboxes for Greyscale and Ultra Flat Map options :)

Hey there!

We are looking to modify the Nectar slider to allow 3 buttons instead of 2. Right now our only option is with a child-theme to dequeue your /nectar/meta/nectar-slider-meta.php file and then enqueue our version of the nectar-slider-meta.php file.

The change is super simple and I was wondering if this is something that you could just add into the theme as a permanent change. I could see this as being a nice and simple improvement for those customers who would like the flexibility of a 3 button layout. This change would require a slight modification to the function.php and the /nectar/meta/nectar-slider-meta.php files.

Please let me know if you would like to see my proposed code change.

Hey thomaswrench!

I’ve noted this for the wishlist – another simple way to achieve three or more buttons in a slide would be to past button shortcodes in the caption field itself

Hi,

theme looks great!

just some questions …

is it possible to use blog site elements with the portfolio custom single page?

i want to use the fullscreen header from the blog page as a portfolio-item site header and the fullwidth “next post” element as “next portfolio item”

please check the mockup for better understanding. this is how i want to build my portfolio item sites: https://www.dropbox.com/s/bvr6qrbighqnr5e/salient-mockup.jpg?dl=0

thanks and best

Hey kensansamei!

Currently this would take some custom development but i’ve noted the idea :)

Cheers

Hey Mr. Nectar,

how to get rid of the Page Header in the Single Posts? I`d prefer to work with Nectar Slider there.

Thanks!

It works! THX, have a great weekend!

Fast Question, when i integrate Nectar slider, i am not possible to have it parallax? Of course parallax ist turned on. No other nectar slider is on that page.

THX for help

Oops, it worked only with 1 post? all other posts has the black BG with Title in it as Header and Nectar Slider below?? Tried to create a new post, also there the problem persists: http://goo.gl/d12XC1

Hi TN,

I added buttons to my menu with the Menu Image plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/menu-image/). Rather I didn’t use this plugin, but just the Salient theme. I don’t know however how to achieve a menu that consist of different colored backgrounds plus textual menu items that go over it. So I want to use different colors for every menu item and also the submenu items have to be the same color as their parent menu items.

I know I can set the submenu items to a certain color but I can only set the same color for the whole submenu.

Is there 1. a way to not have to use the Menu Image plugin and 2. a way to give all submenu child tree the same color as their parent’s?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Cheers, Marc

Instead of using the direct child selector for the anchor in the snippet like this:

header#top nav > ul > li:nth-child(3) > a

change them to be

header#top nav > ul > li:nth-child(3) a

Halleluja!
The menu at www.boefjes.nl looks exactly like we wanted to. There’s one small issue though, the pre-loading. The menu and sub menu show completely when the site is being loaded.
What is causing this and how can I prevent this from happening? It look a bit silly …

Try adding this into the custom css box in the Salient options panel:

.sf-menu ul {
  display: none;
}

Hello,

Google Fonts (Lato, configured via the Salient admin backend) won’t load in IE10 – instead the browser’s standard font is loaded. Any idea how to fix this? Chrome, Firefox and Safari do load the fonts without a problem.

Kind regards, Oliver

Hey Oliver,

I can’t seem to replicate this on my end – anyway you could please open a ticket in regards with your admin credentials so I can take a look at what’s going on :) themenectar.ticksy.com/

With regards to the Project Categories, and the ‘Sort Portfolio’ option, is there a way to change the order they appear on the horizontal menu when shown here: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/portfolio-fullwidth-style-4/

I do not want them to appear in alphabetical order. Can this be changed? If so how?

Thanks.

Hey evermaven,

You’d need to modify the wp_list_categories function within the functions.php file in regards

1)Is it possible to make one page without header and footer with your theme? Something like this: http://mort-bend.com/pocetna/ 2)Does your page has pop up windows? (java scipt) for example (text links which pop ups in new window) something like this: http://theme-fusion.com/avada/modal-popup/ Tnx!

Hey again,

1. An example code to accomplish that on the home page would look like:

.home #header-outer, .home #footer-outer {
  display: none!important;
}

2. I don’t have a specific plugin to recommend personally but there should be some out there that can handle this

Cheers

Cool! Great to hear that!

Do you know if there are any issues with WP-Client or Gravity Forms?

Hey follettdesign, I haven’t tested with WP-Client but Gravity Forms should work

Cheers
