Hi there, This is perfect for what I intend to do, however there’s one thing that’s stopping me from purchasing. The featured episode section on the home page shows up empty on my iPhone.

Is there a plan to fix this?

Thanks!

This has been fixed in the newest version, the demo was running on an older version of the theme. Sorry about that. You can check it out now! :)

Is there anyway to allow the sidebar on the front page template?

I have some sponsorship opportunities and that would be the easiest way to integrate some ads.

Thanks :)

Thanks for the feedback. This is not really in planning for the near future, but it does sound interesting and useful. We’re definitely keeping this in mind.

Hi! First of all: Thanks for adding the Mail-Icon in the social-Section. unfortunately it doesn’d work. It tries to open a page with the name of the Mail-Address (which can’t be added, cow @ in the URL is not allowed). something wile “mailto://adress” doesn’t work either….. Any ideas ?

Thanks for the feedback. The fix will be included in the next update. If you want to fix it right now, override footer.php and edit line 49. Change href=”<?php echo $pod_email; ?>” to href=”mailto:<?php echo $pod_email; ?>”. The “mailto” bit is missing.

Ok, an update has just been released and should be out in a couple of hours. This has been fixed :)

WAOW, cool, thanks a lot :)

Hi The Images for the posts are now, after activating the Podcaster, automatically processed and sored several time in different sizes. I assume, this is done by Podcaster? If so: One format is 400×400. The Squares on the front-page show 260×260 Images and GTmetrix.com and thelike recommend to use correctly scaled images. Is there an option (for later versions) to add one scaling-level of 260×260 and use those pictures right away on the front-page? Would speed things up. Thanks a lot :) Olaf

Sounds like an interesting addition, but the reason the images are bigger is so make sure they stay clear on retina displays. Still an option to turn this off might be added in the future. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

right, that makes sense :)

Hi,

Great theme, and enjoying implementing it on my site. However, I’m having trouble finding where the column widths are set on the page layouts. I want to include a 728px wide banner in each post, but due to the margin/padding it always always goes over the edge of the box.

Basically I want to slightly increase the width of the main post area, and slightly decrease the width of the right-hand sidebar. Please can you advise of where these widths are set?

Many thanks.

Podcaster is built with Bootstrap, so you would have to find a way to override the default column settings given by Bootstrap. Unfortunately there is no simpler way of doing this.

However, you could also set the width of the banner to max-width: 100% so it’s squeezed into the box. That would be an easier way to achieve effect and avoid overlapping.

That’s a great workaround – thanks for the tip and for responding so quickly.

Dear developers,

I’ve never done any webdesign before. I’m setting up a wordpress site with the podcaster’s theme with a local WAMP server. I read all the theme’s documentation and i’ve been following tutorials from lynda.com with some success. However i met some issues that i think is theme related.

Please look at this screenshot:

http://imgur.com/Tna7WXW

My two questions are:

1 – How can i get rid of the “category:” in the post page? (red square)

2 – Pretty sure it is not theme related, but how can i get rid of the ”/category” from the URL? (blue square and blue arrow).

Thank you a lot

sincerely,

Leonardo

Hi Leonardo,

1: The screenshot you sent me is of a category page, not a post page. If you would like to set up a separate post page, please follow the instructions in the video that is linked in the documentation. It tells you all about how to set one up.

2: The categories are handles by WordPress and as far as I know there is no way of deactivating them. You might want to read a little about WordPress in general on their documentation website: https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page.

I hope this answers your questions!

Hi,

I will rephrase my first question: how can i get rid of the text inside the red square for any category page? would it be possible to upload a header image there?

i have one last question: i uploaded few images to the front page and blog headers with the exact dimensions of the documentation (1920px:450px) and cropping occurs. I realize they fit better when sized 1920px:200px, but i can’t manage it to fit it perfectly.

Hi there, You can use this: .archive.category .heading .title > h1 { display: none; } to hide the titles. Make sure you use a child theme so your customizations are safe from updates. You can find info about that in the documentation. At the moment it is not possible to upload individual headers for categories.

As for the sizes, you’ll just have to play with the height of the banners to see what fits best. This always depends on if you’re displaying the “Next Week” section or an excerpt. Width should be 1920px, the hight is up to you. 450px is just a recommendation.

I hope this answers your questions! :)

Podcaster seems to be incompatible with the current version of Blubrry PowerPress. If PowerPress has its audio player enabled for a post, the player gets duplicated on the post page (presumably displayed once by Podcaster and once by PowerPress). The top player (right below the post title) looks good. The bottom player is mostly white (seems to have severe styling issues). Turning off the player via PowerPress removes both players, and changing the theme to WordPress’ default results in normal behavior (one player that looks like a normal MEJS player).

Is there a workaround for this?

Hi there,

You should be able to deactivate the audio player on the bottom by going to PowerPress > Settings > Media Appearance > Display Media & Links. Disable the player there and the only visible player will be the featured player at the top. Please make sure you have posted your post as an audio post and that you are running Podcaster’s newest version (1.4.1).

The bottom player should be styled as well if it is being displayed. Do you have a URL where I could take a closer look at this? Thank you.

In the podcast settings, there is a reference to a URL to my complete feed. When I click that link it goes to here: http://192.254.212.91/~radiotun/feed/podcast

And has an error message: This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

I don’t know how to deal with this.

I just took a look at the link above and I am seeing the regular feed layout without errors on my end: https://www.dropbox.com/s/i0491zajr6v6t8v/support_100215.png?dl=0 I also checked whether your feed validates and it does. You can test it here: http://validator.w3.org/feed/. Why this might be happening on your end, I can’t say, but this might answer your question: http://stackoverflow.com/a/17035799/1748018

The new update breaks the homepage. See here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/1543763/pics/perso/2015-02-08%2011_59_20-Accueil.png

- excerpt is now showing on top of the title
- there's a darker box with only "read more" lost in the bottom

Could you look into this? I’m reverting back to the previous version in the meantime.

Thanks for the feedback. This has been fixed, update is on the way.

Im having the same problem as @mikegualtieri The frontpage header image is not being displayed. I saved the preferences again and even changed the header image, but it’s still not showing. Plus set it to display the header of the post.. and none of them work. Thanks!

I’ll look into the plugin issues, thanks for letting us know. Just one question: I noticed you’re using a child theme. Did you customize other files besides the stylesheet?

Ugh you’re right, I completely forgot that I have overrides in place. Im going through those now to see what I find. Ok I updated them all and the “Featured Image (from page)” for the frontpage doesn’t seem to work still.

When I go to an author page, the posts that are listed are correct, but the header information is always a specific author. Im pretty sure I didn’t modify anything to do with that, but Ill go through and take a look also.

Hi – the header image on my frontpage is not displaying behind the player like it did in previous versions:

http://worstepradio.com

Also, when I’m logged in, I can’t see the admin toolbar at the top – it’s just a black bar.

Thanks for your help!

Sure thing!

Okay, just took a look and it seems like setting it to 0% still makes the screen have 100% opacity and thus appear black. This is a bug on the side of the Redux Framework and I will report back to it’s developers. As long as the rgba setting stays on 0.01 or more, it will have the desired transparent effect. I have set it to 0.4 for now. Sorry about that.

Fantastic, thank you!

Would it be possible to have the previous version of the theme sent to idisagreebut@gmail.com as well? Hoping to be able to resolve these issues before our deadline tonight.

I also uploaded the logo in the theme options and it didn’t show up anywhere.

Do you have a URL so I can take a look at what is happening? Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks, fix is on the way. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Is it just me or do the color settings not work in the theme options? I’m changing them around, but seeing no changes on the site itself.

I just updated the theme today because I got a notification of a new version, but the new version of this theme has broken my site in several places. Help me please?

Send by email please to info@dangio.net

Thanks.

What are the changes done to the version that you released today? Since I use the child theme I need to know what files you have modified.

A number of files have been edited to incorporate a couple of plugin updates as well as to better support Blubrry PowerPress, I can post a more extensive list after the couple of hot fixes that are under way have been released.

Is there a way to download the previous version of this theme?

I just updated the theme today because I got a notification of a new version, but the new version of this theme has broken my site in several places.

For example, on the blog entries, there are several PHP warnings shown: http://revisionpath.com/podcast-award/

When I try to log in to WordPress, I get these PHP warnings (see screenshot: http://prntscr.com/611z47)

Please help!

Please disregard—I managed to find the previous version of the theme and have reverted the site back. However, this new version of this theme does have bugs!

Sorry about that, and thanks for the feedback. It’s being looked into.

Hello, Nice theme! Question: Is there an option to have a slider on the home page? Or is this a static header that can only be changed with a new image? Thanks.

Unfortunately, at the moment Podcaster only has a static header, no options for a slider.

Is there any way to have more than one category identified as a podcast so we can host two podcasts from the same site?

The backend RSS is sorted using powerpress ‘podcast channels’ plugin.

It’s just the ‘theme options’ – ‘podcast settings’ – ‘podcast archive’ that I’d like to enable two categories in?

At the moment, there is no way for displaying two separate feeds with two separate podcast archive pages (I’m guessing this is what you’re looking for). A string of updates and new features are currently being added to the theme though, so I’ll get back with whether or not this has been included.

I must add that you will be able to manage one or more feeds with “podcast channels” activated in BPP. It’s just that Podcaster can’t display more than one archive page for two different feeds at this point.

Sorry – I’m not after two separate feeds. I just want to add another category to the single feed. So when you visit the homepage and archive templates they show two categories rather than just the single one.
