I am totally frustrated with SweetDate, so much so that I am searching for an alternative theme to save my current member base. The process of signing up, completing a profile and loading a profile picture is so much not user friendly. The question that I have is…. is Buddypress an ideal solution for such a theme. I find that 80% signups have incomplete profiles and another 50% do not upload profile pictures? Will this change if I eventually change to a premium membership? I have tried plugins to force profiles complete, but these do not work with multiple groups fields. There is also not a great way to force profile picture upload. A dating site is useless if no profile pictures or incomplete profiles are loaded. maybe I have just not yet discovered how to make the site user friendly or something. I’d appreciate any advice offered.
Unfortunately this is not an issue of our theme, you should understand that a theme is mostly related to the design and some UI/UX improvements.
All workflow and functionality is defined by wordpress itself or by other plugins. In this case buddypress is the only major networking plugin available for wordpress and we already did a lot to improvements the way it looks and works.
You can extend the way buddypress works with additional plugins in some cases, while in others you’ll have to build your own extensions.

Does this theme have the ability to create a menu on the top bar? Like instead of the email we have another menu, that would be a good place for another.
No, there’s no menu placeholder for that position, but you can easily add more stuff in that position by using a hook available at that point.

Translation of SweetDate is very difficult, I use WPML but much of tradutions do not apply. I will translate with Poedit but I can not find the file kleo_framework, kleo_framework is a plugin? a theme? thank you. Note: Codestyling Localization has not been updated for more than 2 years and malfunctions
Codestyling Localization still works like a charm, you just have to regenerate your po/mo files and clear any potential cache you might have. Try to find some wp/wpml translating tutorials if you don’t know exactly all the steps needed in a translation process. The “kleo_framework” is just a slug which defines all translation to our theme, it’s called a “textdomain”. Each wordpress plugin/theme has it’s own textdomain.

Im getting this error while importing the WooCommerce Dummy Data.. . Also none of the images where imported.

There’s not such feature by default in buddypress. You should search for a related buddypress plugin, as for example: http://buddydev.com/plugins/recent-visitors-for-buddypress-profile/

The logic can be done but it will require some custom coding. You’ll need programming skills or you’ll have to hire a developer to create you such a feature.
Please not that this kind of functionality is not related to our theme. It’s more related to buddypress and pmpro plugins.

Okay so if I can’t limit messaging to my paid members, what would I charge for? If you guys visit any of the big dating websites like match.com for example, the messaging ability is why customers upgrade their membership> I think that not making your theme in this way is a major issue. It really hinders someone from making money with their dating website.

Firstly you should remember that a theme is mostly related to the design and usability of a site and plugins were made exactly for functionality enhancements.
We already come with an advanced re-designed user interface for some major plugins.
For example, the networking aspect of the wordpress platform is managed by BuddyPress, and in your case you should find a BuddyPress related plugin.
On the other part the payments are managed by the Paid Membership Pro plugin, which comes with a set of options for BuddyPress, and from there it can be extended to do even more.
Finally you should understand that a theme is just an interface design of wordpress or some other plugins which gives you extra features, and that the previous plugins that I’ve mentioned are free and can’t be compared out of the box with an internet giant like match.com

Unfortunately buddypress by default doesn’t give this kind of options. You should search for a buddypress related plugin with the requested features, but from what i can say it seems to be a very custom request and you will probably end up needing a developer to build you such an option.

The revslider bundled in the last theme update is at version 4.6.0, probably you have an old install or theme package, please re-download a new one. This problem was patched from long time ago.

You shouldn’t have any problems with any third party plugins. For ssl use i would recommend you to use a plugin which properly enables full ssl support.
WP Supercache should work, or you could try W3 Total Cache.
Other plugins which outputs a frontend layout would probabbly need a few css styling to match layout. This depends on the quality of each plugin in part.

I wanted to know how its possible to add a Captcha to the Registraton Page and Pop Up. I tried Google Captcha as a plugin, but i cant get it to show up on both Forms.
You just need to add it to the full registration page, our popup is just a shortcut, an additional step in front of the full registration page.

Nope, you should use a plugin which integrates directly with buddypress registration process and then the captcha will appear in the correct place without any extra shortcodes..

Btw I’m getting a notice that the theme has bundled outdated copies of WooCommerce template files: sweetdate/woocommerce/cart/cart.php sweetdate/woocommerce/single-product/add-to-cart/variable.php sweetdate/woocommerce/single-product-reviews.php version 2.1.0 is out of date. The core version is 2.3.2
I didn’t set up my store yet, so i don’t know if thats causing any errors. But may this helps to keep things working.

For some reason when I am testing Sweet Date out, subscribers who log in and go through the email link process and then sign in somehow get access to my WordPress admin panel after they sign in. Of course this is wrong on my part but the question is… How do I change this?

I was mistaken! I mistook the members having access to their settings as being a member somehow having access to the “admin” section of Sweet Date/WordPress.com. A 1000 apologies! The members DO NOT and I am assuming CAN NOT have access to the Sweet Date/WordPress “admin” section after all. So sorry about the perhaps confusing posting earlier. Thanks!
No problem, just to clear this out, subscribers have access to a limited dashboard in wp-admin, but they can change only settings related to their account. There are a lot of plugins out there which can help you block the access to the wp-admin area.

Hi, how do i set the membership up so the free clients don’t need to inter their credit card details?
You just have to create a membership level with a price set to 0 (zero). Whne you do this at checkout, the level will be applied directly, without going trough any payment gateway.
