I love the new e-commerce design! I want to base my design on exactly how the demo looks (http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-ecommerce/), but I can’t seem to make it. I have imported the e-commerce dummy data, but I can’t find a page that looks like it. The closest I can find is http://6till12volt.nu/shop/shop-carousel-example/
Would be very happy with instructions on how to copy your design!

When the lightbox is enabled for the portfolio, is it possible to have a work-around to bypass using a featured image and instead use an external link to an image?

I’m having the same issue explained by panzer517. VC disappeared and code is shown in every page instead of graphics. And there are no notifications asking to install Salient’s page builder.
I had to put the website in manteinance mode not to show it like that. Did I do something wrong in updating the theme?

Salient v5.5 has separated Visual Composer into a plugin and is no longer automatically built in – this means when you activate the theme you’ll have to still install the Visual Composer plugin via the admin panel. It is included still with the theme and no purchase is necessary, just head to the plugins section of your admin panel to install & activate. Cheers!
Got it! I found a zip file in the “plugin” folder inside “Salient” folder and I manually upload it. Usually when a theme comes with some plugins included, a notification appears at the top of the page telling the user that the theme requires to install and activate those plugins. It would be much easier to understand. However it’s a thing users have to do only once, isn’t it? After that the plugin should keep updating by itself, I think.

Hey ninamukar, you can update by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new. I recommend using FTP, but you can use the WP dashboard if you prefer.
I loved your original 5.0 Theme, once I updated to 5.52 I lost the visual editor for every page, and all of the old visual code seems to be broken. I am kind of frusterated because I really looked forward to your visual theme updates.
On another note, on 5.0 I can’t figure out how to completely remove the default featured video section from any page.
On a page it just shows this text instead of the graphics generated by the virtual editor.

Now once I have the portfolio function being used on a page, it refuses to show up now, once the new visual editor is being used. It just refuses to load, but individual pages still work whenever I manage to click on one.
Can you please help?

It now looks exactly the same way now, I don’t know why it wasn’t loading before. However it looks like the masonry style is not working currently, though I have been attempting to fix it myself.
Hey again – i’m currently seeing that all the items on this page http://www.andrew00ff00.com/portfolio/ are set to the regular size. Did you previously have various sizes set on different items?

Hey – open the init.js file located in the js folder and change this line:
$portfolio_containers[i].find('.col.elastic-portfolio-item.wide img, .col.elastic-portfolio-item.regular img').css('height',tallColHeight);
to this:
$portfolio_containers[i].find('.col.elastic-portfolio-item.wide img:not(.custom-thumbnail), .col.elastic-portfolio-item.regular img:not(.custom-thumbnail)').css('height',tallColHeight);
im having the same problem too as ladydekade among a bunch of others.

Oh also, if a row has a background image, now after the update, i cannot delete/change the image!!

Would it be possible in the future to have an option where we can have an unfixed header? At the moment, I do this with CSS. But I think it would be handy to be able to do choose either a fixed or unfixed header in the Theme Options too.

I just installed and activated 5.5.2 and then reactivate my child theme, and all of the padding and background colour issues look to be solved. Well done mate, and thanks! Now go and get some rest you’ve clearly had a busy 24 hours!

I am using the “Centered Menu Alt” header layout and it’s messed up when using the “use transparent header when applicable” option.
There are huge gaps of space and logo is randomly jumping when I scroll down. “Header Padding” is set at 0 but that does nothing.
Also, I only have 1 slider. When I scroll down, there is a blank background behind the slider. Is there a way to make it so the background stays there? I don’t get it.
When I add
#header-outer, #header-secondary-outer { position: absolute!important; }
The slider has a blank background when scrolling down.

Thanks for 5.5.2 – looking much better now. Two things…
1. After uploading 5.5.2 do I need to uninstall and reinstall the built in VC? I don’t know if it’s using VC from 5.5 still.
2. There’s a bug in Chrome with jquery. It appears to be broken when using the accordion VC module. Also in woocommerce checkout for the toggles at the top in the blue bar that says “have a coupon code” or “already registered, login.” both of those open, but can’t close.
In Firefox I have no errors with the toggles and accordion. In Chrome it looks like the console error is:
Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function http://...../wp-content/themes/salient/js/init.js?ver=5.5.2
This was actually happening to me on 5.0.1 so I don’t think it’s a new bug in 5.5.2

Great Thanks! One more bug. At least I think it’s to do with Salient because other themes using woocommerce don’t do it.
In Chrome only, during checkout when I enter a zipcode it will reload the sub total box, but all it does is spin the gif and never fades back into being active. Might be related to the “uncaught typeError” I mentioned above. In Firefox it reloads in seconds.
p.s. I emailed you about this issue, but this seems like a better outlet, so please disregard my last email Thanks.

For some reason in Chrome I can’t see this occurring – the loading gif fades away and no js error is being reported in the console. What version of Chrome are you using?

Okay, wow… It turned out that an extension I had installed in Chrome was causing the conflict this whole time. Sorry! It’s an extension called PageXray. I’ve removed it, and all is fine! I’ve never had a browser addon interfere with a website before, haha.

Hi I’m attempting to update theme version 5.5.2 using Envato Toolkit but each time I receive the following error:
Warning: function_exists() expects parameter 1 to be string, array given in /home/stevesot/public_html/sub_directory/wp-admin/includes/class-pclzip.php on line 1766
Can you tell me the possible reasons for this?
Note: /sub_directory/ has been entered here replacing the actual name of the directory folder for security reasons.

Hi OK. Yes I have the latest theme downloaded but haven’t tried to upload manually. I am actually having issues connecting to server with my host at moment. Two request for the next release: 1. Can you have an option in the video embeds (from youtube) to not load up youtube suggestions after the video has finished playing? Pasting the correct parameters at the end of the address from youtube simply won’t work at the moment :/ 2. Video background on mobile would be an absolute treat. Works only on my laptop at the moment.

Holy crap this last update!!! What the heck happened??
Everyone – BACKUP EVERYTHING IF YOU UPDATE
This last update has messed up 80% of my site and I am now reverting back to my previous version. I have never had any issues up until now. This update breaks everything in responsive viewports, tablet down to mobile portrait.
By the way, this was in regard to Update 5.5.1
I will check out 5.5.2 which was just released and report back.
