Firstly, I would like to say I’m a very happy customer and have recently begun recommending it to clients I’m designing for.
I was wondering if I could avoid having to get multiple licenses for a website with subdomains, namely of one business, with parts of business being in different subdomains, for example:
Peter sells pies, cookies and so on.
landing page – www.peter.com shop – shop.peter.com blog – blog.peter.com
So far it appears every Wordpress installation requires a different licence, is that so?

The terms of the license are such that you need a unique license for each installation. If the entire site is for one person/client and not shared or used by 3rd parties, you may want to look into a multi-site WordPress installation as that would also be one possibility.

That is not an Extension of ours nor something we include with the theme. It sounds like something you installed on your own or whoever was working on your site installed.
ok…. i have a blank installation… after that, i have installed x-theme and the child-themes… after that, i have changed my domain in theme.co member are… after this, i doenloaded all extentions about the extension area in the theme and there is a plugin without a picture and called Device Mockups
Again, that is not part of our theme or download in any way (there does seem to be a plugin listed on WordPress.org by the same name so it sounds like that is on your install). There is also nothing to change in the Themeco member area. There is a page in there to assign licenses to a particular domain if that is what you are referring to. If you would like one of our developers to take a look, please post your question in the forum as that is where all support is provided.

i know what you wrote. i only want to tell you, that this extension is listed in your x-theme extension area, not more. and, i have changed one domain from my two licences… 
There has never been an Extension called Device Mockups and we have not had reports of this from any other customers so it is not something related or from X. If you need anything further, please post your question in the forum, and a member of our development team can further assist.

I am considering buying your theme. I have two different websites (url are different) so do I need one or two license?
Also, I would like to have our brand logos at the bottom of the screen. we have lots of them so I would want it to scroll. I have seen other sites do this well, is there a template for this?

Yes, you would need one license for each site you’re working with. It’s not hard to create a brands section with X. We just don’t have the ability for it to scroll horizontally. You can see an example of this on our Integrity 3 demo.

Thanks for writing in! While we do not have a demo to try out, you can certainly check out this page to see a video of how the Customizer operates in general. Also, since we utilize the native WordPress Customizer, you can simply fire that up in any theme to get a sense of how it works, just keep in mind that X comes with far more features to customize the appearance of the theme.

Adding padding to text is no problem at all, you can add inline style or give the sections a custom class to achieve that.
Mutli-level sub-menus are supported with X.

I have just made a purchase and try to upload it to my wp admin, it seems that it can never upload. It reads 0100% twice and then start from 04% and stuck there forever.
What can I do? Please help

Thanks for writing in and we’re sorry to hear that you seem to be having a little trouble getting up and running. The first thing I’d do is ensure that you’re properly uploading the theme. Make sure you’re only uploading the .zip file of the theme only, not the .zip file of all files and documentation. Once you’ve ensured you’re doing that, I would probably consult with your host as this sounds like something to do with their upload limits.

Hey, nice theme, thanks! It kills me, however, that I am not able to install and activate theme locally, on test environment and live site. Basically, the only one option left is to activate it only locally and then push changes to the live site, but there will be other people working on live site in WP admin as well, so migrating database whenever any changes are made in the front end will be such a pain. Would be nice to have a license valid for one domain but maybe different extensions (eg. .dev. com)

Thanks for writing in. We’ve discussed working something out for staging environments, but what’s problematic is that we can’t automatically determine the purpose of each installation. It would be easy to use some form of staging license for another site altogether. If you need the convenience of multiple verified environments, you’re welcome to purchase additional licenses and verify those. Alternatively, you could install the theme locally and work with it unverified. It will still function the same but you’ll need to update manually and install the extensions manually. The extensions can be found in the ThemeForest download package.

First of all, congratulations to your theme! It seems to be one of most complete WP themes.
I’m going to buy it (it’ll be my first theme to WP) and I’d like to confirm just few things:
- I saw it’s included Revolution Slider and I already used it in others themes (Magento) but I didnt see an example with different slides as http://bonappetit.stylemix.net/. Could you confirm if it is possible?
- About your stacks. Is it possible to mix features of each one? For example, I like Ethos03, but I would like a menu like an example of Renew demo.
Sorry if the questions are stupid, but I’d like to confirm…

1 Yes, Revolution Slider is included with your purchase. It is the standard version of the plugin so whatever features are available in the standard plugin will be available in the integrated version.
2. You can’t mix and match the Stacks as they are much more than just designs to your site. You can see some of the unique features to each Stack at the bottom of our demo section, however your question has more to do with page layout, and the full width bands you see on Ethos 03 can be used across all Stacks.

Thanks for writing in! This is more of a WooCommerce question, so you may want to direct your question to their developers on this particular matter. With X, we integrate WooCommerce by providing styling for all elements without altering any core functionality, so the closest you will likely be able to get to this is to assign you shop page in WooCommerce and then set your shop page as the front page of your site, but that will not be by category as you’ve specified. You could definitely add some category widgets in the sidebar to allow for filtering, and this could be a quick and easy solution. Anything beyond this and you would want to consult the WooCommerce team with particular guidance.

Where did the importable styles go? They used to be in the knowledge base, you could import all of the settings?

We’ve moved them inside the theme. When X is activated go into your WordPress dashboard and open X Addons > Demo Content. In there you can import all the demo installations with one click.
Well it was customized, .json files? On download and upload would load all the fonts, and customizations? Is this different now?

As referenced above, this is now managed via a different capacity to improve the usability of this feature. You can read more about this here. Please take note that if you install the demo content, it will automatically overwrite any Customizer settings you currently have, so you will want to make a backup before using this feature.

Thanks for writing in! The PSD files included with the theme are available when you download “all files” from ThemeForest. That being said, it should be noted that the PSD files included are merely a few conceptual PSDs that we initially used to start developing X. Since all of the elements implemented in X are styled with CSS, there is really no need for these in a practical sense, but we include them anyway as a little bonus for anyone who might find use for the few files we have in a separate arena.

how to have content visible on all devices ?

should i just delete the code form plugin css ? or there is a way to disable it in child theme code ?

If you are simply wanting your content to display on all devices, you should not use the shortcode at all as referenced above. If you have already added it to your page, you will need to move the content within the visibility shortcode outside and then delete the visibility shortcode itself, this will allow all of your content to display all the time.

Hi,
I’m having trouble with the Visual Composer plugin that came with X. It worked fine for a while and already made all my pages with it. However suddenly when I updated a page it crashed.
Now I’m not able to edit any of my page and i only get a white screen when i try to open one.
When I disable the plugin I am able to edit my pages, but because i worked with Visual Composer there is a lot of script that doesn’t get recognized.
Also, I couldn’t find a purchase code for Visual Composer. So i cant get in to their support page.

We ship an own version of Visual Composer so make sure that you’re using the right version. You can try deleting Visual Composer and then going into your X Addons > Extensions section in the WordPress dashboard an reinstall Visual Composer.

I’m having trouble with the menu on mobile devices. The site displays with the menu already open, not closed, and it doesn’t close. So, you can’t view the pages because the menu is open over the whole page. From other comments, it appears I may need a new version of “shortcodes”, but I can’t find anywhere to download these… if that’s what I need. help!

There is an option to add video lightbox. You even have it on your website in tutorial: https://theme.co/x/member/kb/shortcode-walkthrough-lightbox/. Check time 8:30.
But currently it is only possible with click on buttons or images… Was this what you meant?

1) X has been developed to best practices following industry standards for search engine optimization. It is recommended to use a 3rd party plugin for further onsite SEO customizations such as Yoast or All-In-One SEO Pack.
2) Please see this FAQ.
3) There are not photo gallery specific options outside of the Portfolio, however you can do things like you see on this demo where you cycle images through in a fullwidth manner for a compelling presentation of images. For 3rd party plugins, this would be outside our own scope of support but many customers use various tools to customize their site(s), and you can read more about our 3rd party plugin policy here.
