After update , my Homepage does not load anymore.. I found out the Blog element is causing the problem. It works without that element but as soon as I add it, the page won’t load.

Maybe I should use the word ‘word excerpt’. On the homepage of my website I have a ‘standard blog, no sidebar’ element and a ‘recent posts’ element. In the Salient Menu I can change the word excerpt, but that influences both of the elements. My question is: is it possible to manually change the word excerpt of the ‘standard blog, no sidebar’ element?

What would I be doing wrong to make your theme load really slowly? It takes on average 20 seconds for pages to load….
Hey again – from the link you’ve provided i’m seeing pages load in 3-5 seconds with no cached files. Where is your server located relative to your own location?
Well – I have various websites on the same server, all of which load super quick. It’s only axiski.com that, for the most part takes an age, which is the only one using your theme. = )
It’s weird though, because right this second, it’s loading real quickly but soon, it’ll just get really slow again.
Oh and the server is located in the UK, where I currently am also.
This is what my host said:

Something else you should look at is also installing a caching plugin. We normally recommend WP Supercache which has good results in speeding up sites. We recommend making sure it’s in ‘rewrite mode’ for caching

I appear to have fixed the issue by deleting everything from FTP and re-installing – But this took 7 attempts.
Hey axiski, glad you sorted it – if you uploaded it with FTP to begin with and didn’t delete the old theme first you could’ve had conflicting file merges or it could have been a caching issue

Hi! I’m making my portfolio and I have a question. For now the lightbox option shows all the images set as featured images in the portfolio items. Is there any way for the lightbox to show only images from inside of the portfolio item? I have many projects with multiple files and that would be extremely useful.
Hey as of now that’s not possible to do from the main project page – you could have a lightbox gallery inside of a project page though
That won’t do unfortunately, because I want my visitors to stay on the frontpage while browsing through my gallery (the fewer clicks the better! 
). I’ll use the normal lightbox mode then, but if you implement that option in future, it would be awesome.
Another question: My portfolio has sortable categories, but I’d like to remove the text “All” from the sorting list. I found that part of the code with Firebug, but I can’t find the code itself within the files. Can you help me?

There’s just a couple of issues.
1 – This works but there is now a gap at the top so the header has been pushed down by 50px or something?
- There is also still movement in the size when you initially scroll it starts off large then reduces in height as you scroll down.

Hey, when I few my website (http://jimparkerphotography.co.uk) in safari and in firefox the gap looks bigger than that.
In fact I have another website (http://jimparker.photography) using salient in there is no gap really at all at the top – like your demo.
Even when I make the header layout the default, there is a large gap at the top. I have set the logo height to 25 so it should just sit there with a small white gap above the logo in theory like on my other website and in the demo.
Have you got any suggestions please?

Can you let me know if you can fix the following issues for me please:
1 – The gap between each image in my blog posts (e.g.: http://jimparkerphotography.co.uk/joye-oli-engagement-shoot-melbourne/) is too big. Its the gap between the top and the bottom of each image is about 26px high. I would like the gap to be about 7px in height instead – is there a way to fix this?
2 – I have already asked about where to put the code for testing fonts from myfonts.com – but it didn’t work when I tried to do this. I’m not sure where exactly to put the code in the header.php? And then where to edit the style.css – do you have any detailed information about how to do this please? (If you scroll up to see our previous discussion you can see the code I’m trying to use).

3 – I have just disabled the ‘full width display’ on the nectar sliders I am using on my site and it has now moved down away from the main navigation. http://jimparkerphotography.co.uk
So when I previously had them set to full width they were positioned perfectly below the main nav – and no there is a fairly large gap.

Question 3 – about the margin below the header.
It seems to be behaving differently on pages other than the home page. So on the home page ((http://jimparkerphotography.co.uk) the code you have given me works – but then on the rest of the pages the slider drops down again?
(Also when viewing in Chrome it doesn’t pick up my new header design at all apart from on the home page – maybe this just needs a few hours for the implementation to take place – not sure)
New question – 4:
The images in the nectar slider seem to be of different quality in different browsers – so for instance on my home page (http://jimparkerphotography.co.uk) in Safari it is not sharp – but in Chrome its perfectly sharp. Firefox is somewhere in between… ?

2 – Not sure thats worked though – I’m not using the boxed layout, its the normal width layout but my slider is not full width.
3 – The images in the slider look sharp when viewed on mobile device but then the other images like my logo in the centre of the page and the background images of the 3 boxes (blog, weddings, contact) are very blurry- is there something I can do to sharpen these up?
