awesome theme … love it … my site is kevinzahri.com but have some questions:
1) if i set the portfolio page view to 16 items but say have 40 items in 4 categories … the category sorting does not work if the item is not immediately visible as part of the 16 latest items … any workaround other than setting view all 40 items? http://kevinzahri.com/videos/
2) i have been having some problems getting the infinity scroll to work on … works on portfolio http://kevinzahri.com/videos/ but not at the blog side (currently deactivated to pagination)
3) are there any set or recommended sizes for the media/image settings?

1. You can use the infinite scroll option to help out but changing the functionality further would require custom development

3. It depends on what element you’re uploading the image for. Such as a full width slider would need an image around 1600px wide or higher but a featured image on a portfolio element could require as little as 600px wide depending on what size project you’re using

I’m editing my own layout and I got my large header up and great. Really happy with that, but it’s covering the beginning of my first post and sidebar. How can I edit the height of the posts layout, how can I pull down it? I wish I could upload a pic here so it’s more clear to understand.

I actually managed to solve the problem with a script. If someone has this same problem ask you to insert the footer.php

Hey! You’d need to add a class onto the image element such as “facebook-hover” and then add this into the custom css box:

I do not want to add a border to the icons, I need to add a hover affect. For example, take the twitter icon. I would like when you hover over the icon it changes to a GOLD icon. Is this possible?
Since you’re just using img tags for them you’d need to change the src without a javascript event unfortunately
Any chance you could shed some light on how this would properly be done?

1. On mobile, the word “Architectural” gets cut off, and is not responsive. Is there anything we can do about this?

You can define your own slug within the Salient options panel > portfolio tab. Once you add that just resave your permalinks in settings > permalinks

I’ve found a bug with VC and/or Salient: “Templates” are rendered buggy, pages broken with elements not functioning properly – i’ve sent a ticket into your system…
i’ve found the problem!
Something to keep note of as it may happen to others:
Text with links copy/pasted directly from Facebook (pasted as “Visual”) will have some hidden FB-specific code.
This will kill WP and the theme functions even tho it really shouldn’t as all this code is encapsulated within html tags…
Once i removed the code it all worked, but good to know
