Hi,

Congratulations for the theme, going great so far.

I’d need a little modification in the woocommerce breadcrumb: is it possible to delete the ‘shop page’ from it?

Now: Home > shop page > category product > product page

Intended: Home > category product > product page

Thanks!

Hi there,

Thanks for the kind words :)

The breadcrumbs are actually not part of the theme – they come from WooCommerce itself. My advice is to raise a query with WooCommerce support directly about this as we don’t know of a way of doing this change to core directly.

Best,

Colm

OK, i’ll contact them. Thanks!

How do I enable breadcrumbs? And how can I disable the parallax effect on the header images? Last thing how do I add the animated search icon to my top bar?

Hi there,

The way we do it is to install WordPress SEO by Yoast and then configure the internal links section as follows:

http://i.imgur.com/INIUiUx.png

That should do it :)

Colm

thanks it did, I added a few more questions to my post. I also figured out the search, just wondering about the parallax header now.

Hi,

I’m not sure what it is but my postcode field in checkout is not displayed correctly. The postcode text is positioned in the right column but the text box is full width.

My dropdown menus also appear funny with the arrows shadow misaligned.

Please help.

Hi there,

In order to help we’d need to see the issue. Please send us your WP site url and WP admin user/pass to support@commercegurus.com

Colm

Dear Guys

When I click the menu on mobile, it turns into an X, and no menu appears what is the problem ?

thanks

Hi. I update my captiva theme to 1.5.1 through the envato toolkit but i see that my visual composer is still with an old version (Version 4.2.3 & the newest is 4.4.3). How to update it ?

Hi there,

Captiva is currently shipped with 4.4.2 (4.4.3 of VC was only released in the past few days so we’ve not yet tested it with Captiva).

If you install the latest version of Captiva you should see a prompt to update some plugins (including VC). If not, shoot me an email to support@commercegurus.com with your WP site url and admin user/pass and we’ll take a look.

Best,

Colm

Thx Colm. I found why: i used a child-theme. When i switch to the main thme captiva, i saw the prompt. Everything is ok now. Thx !

ah yes :) Forgot to say that!

Glad you figured it out :)

Colm

Hi, i’have problem with my native language in french since I’ve got to leave WPML plugin & now i’ve lost some translations in woocommerce: -in the shopping cart ( i need to translate “item” “subtotal”...) -in the page “cart” ( i need to translate “update cart” “proceed to checkout”...) Most of words are well translated in french, you can check here: http://www.terre-des-thes.fr/panier/

Every translation muts be in /www/wp-content/languages/themes with a captivalang-fr_FR.po & captivalang-fr_FR.mo right ?

HI there,

No – you should follow this guide http://www.commercegurus.com/2014/10/01/quick-tutorial-translating-captiva/

You’ll need to change the name of the .po/.mo files to match the WPLANG value in your wp-config.php for starters :)

Best,

Colm

Hi, great, i solved my problem with your link. Thx !

HI I was just wondering how can the admin see the items in a user’s wishlist? Or is that even possible? Also, how does a user see their wishlist?

I added the wishlist page to the top menu but not sure if that is the correct way. Thanks in advance for your help. By the way, I migrated the site from Godaddy to wpengine and it is running very fast. Thank you.

Hi there,

It’s not possible for admins to see users wishlists to my knowledge as they’re stored in a users session. You could double check this with the plugin developer.

Re: how does the user see their wishlist – you’ve described it correctly (i.e. adding the link in the top menu).

Delighted to hear your speed is great on WPEngine :)

Hi, Is there a way to disable responsive? I noticed option in the themes settings but it does not stop it from being responsive. It still continues to use mobile menu and puts everything in the footer etc. in to 2 columns.

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Yes there is an option but it needs some updates which we expect to have released in the next couple of weeks. Shoot me an email to support@commercegurus.com with your details (reference this comment thread) and I’ll let you know when it’s ready.

Best,

Colm

Hi this is not importing the demo content correctly, its not pulling in any pages products etc just two posts?

AWESOME SUPPORT….thanks so much for the quickest support I have ever had on themeforest.

You’re very welcome :)

Hi,

I purchased your theme some time ago and recently updated to the latest woocommerce. The dropdown menu’s in the checkout seem to use the default wordpress dropdowns which i dislike greatly. Is it possible to revert the dropdowns back to the default dropdown as they work better on mobile devices.

Thanks.

Hi there,

Thanks for getting in touch.

In WooCommerce 2.3, Woo changed the default dropdowns to use a new js library called Select2 rather than the old library (which was called chosenjs).

I also preferred this style, but the technology was getting old and a little unreliable which is why Woo replaced it.

Please also make sure you’ve updated to the latest version of Captiva which provides compatibility with WC2.3.X

Best,

Colm

So is there anyway to change it because the woo styled dropdown is not compatible with mobiles? It is big problem and the wankers at woo choose aesthetics over function as usual. Please advise on way to change it as asked in original question.

Hi there,

There’s no easy way of changing it to be honest – it’s not really the responsibility of the theme to change core WooCommerce decisions. You will need to get in touch with thier support team and ask them how to change it.

Best,

Colm

Morning!!! I just bought your theme . I sent you and emailed some questions.

thanks !!

Hi Norber

Replied by email :)

Simon

Hello-

Quick question: how do you hide the sorting option box and the grid/list toggle icons from the product pages?

Thanks!

Hi David

You could use a bit of custom css. If you add this to Captiva Theme Options > Custom CSS it should work:

.woocommerce-ordering,
.view-switcher {
    display: none;
}

Best

Simon

Hi Simon-

I might be adding this incorrectly but I tried to do it on the site in captiva theme options custom code area and also in the cpanel in the custom.css folder. Neither one seemed to work.

Hi there,

shoot me an email to support@commercegurus.com with your site details and we’ll take a look for you.

Please include your themeforest username and WP admin user/pass in the email :)

Thanks,

Colm

I installed the SSL certificate, but it only works on the shop/cart pages. If you go to https://website.com, it will redirect you to http. I changed the site URL to include https, added this to the config file: define(‘FORCE_SSL_ADMIN’, true), and I modified the htaccess file, but something in the theme is overriding the SSL.

Within the Captiva settings, I click on the General tab and set “Responsive” to “Disable”, but the website is still fully responsive on mobile devices. How do I turn responsive off?

You help is much appreciated!

Hey Colm,

So just to confirm, there will be a way to un-responsify the site within the next 10 days? We’ve already made a ton of edits to the site, and it doesn’t look good on mobile. The edits were all done on the front end.

Yes – and sooner if we can get it sorted before then :)

Thank you!!!

Is it possible to make the mobile menu and basket icon sticky or floating on the mobile version of the site? If not on this, then perhaps on one of your other themes? I’d like the basket and hamburger menu icon to stay visible when scrolling down on mobile.

Thanks!

Hi there,

This is not possible at present. But we are considering it for a future release.

You’re not showing up as a Captiva customer under this username. Please contact us via support@commercegurus.com and confirm your themeforest purchase code and username.

Best,

Colm

Hi, thanks for the reply. I’m not a customer yet as its a pre-sales enquiry – but the sticky header on mobile is one of my key features so I’ll keep an eye out for that in one of your future releases.

Hi

a few questions

1) I notice under responsive mode, the top menu disappeared. Is it possible for the top menu to be visible with responsive?

2) For the search function, you have an icon in the top menu

is there a way for the search box to be always available instead of opening it by clicking the icon?

thanks

Hi there,

Re: 1.) This is not something that you can control via theme options. You would need to do this youself with custom css.

Re: 2.) Not at present

Best,

Colm

Hi

Sorry for the multiple message

My reply below

1) in my opinion, it is very important for the top menu to be visible in responsive mode. This is because the top menu is a place we want to put important stuff that we want to visitor to see immediately without the need to find them. I use a theme before this that have this feature .

Would you consider to add this a new feature in your next version? Imo, it is a great value added feature

2) ALL major e-commerce site like Amazon, alibaba, eBay, etc has 1 thing in common. Their search box is always open and highly visible. This makes sense from customer perspective and will drive sales

Thanks

Hi,

Re: 1 ) With Captiva we made the decision to not display it. With some of our other themes we do (see Adrenalin and Suave). We may consider an option in a future release to add this but we have hundreds of customers happy with it’s current display so we’ll need to think about it before we commit to doing it. You could always do this yourself via a child theme with some custom css in the meantime.

Re: 2.) I agree many do (but there are also many that don’t). Again see our other WooCommerce themes which have the search visible on mobile. We may add an option to Captiva for this in the future.

Best,

Colm

Hi

bought your theme and emailed you some questions

hope to get fast reply :D

Hi brotan,

Thanks for getting in touch.

I see you’ve sent us multiple messages. Please try and keep it to a single message which makes it easier and quicker for us to respond. I will be in touch shortly.

Colm

Morning! I just had a quick question. We recently purchased the theme and so far everything is going well. But my question is on the theme details page there is mention of tutorial videos, where can I find those? I’d like to familiarize my self as such as I can with the theme and figure those videos will help a lot.

Hey there!

You can find all documentation within the /documentation folder of the theme zip file (make sure you download the full zip from ThemeForest, not just the core)

We also have tutorials on our Youtube Channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClvNafnizyoA1u-Ul1B0nCQ

And quite a few Captiva ones on our blog too http://www.commercegurus.com

Hi Guys. Really enjoying using your theme. Its so rich of features. Just one suggestion – it would be super cool to have a product categories scroller like you have for the logos (brands). My shop sells lighting products and I would like to have my main categories scrolling at the top: CHANDELIERS – PENDANTS – CEILING LIGHTS – DOWNLIGHTS – WALL LIGHTS – OUTDOOR LIGHTS – LIGHT BULBS – LAMPS. Kind of what I have going on this site just underneath the slider www.glolighting.co.za

Hey Kisstopher

Thanks for your kind words and great suggestion! We do have an announcements feature, which although doesn’t display images could be used to promote your key categories.

You can see it at the top of this category landing page, scrolling with different color backgrounds: http://captivatheme1.commercegurus.com/product-category/dresses/

Simon

Hi Simon.

Thats sounds like a great idea. Let me try it and will let you know how it goes.

Hi,

I am using ubermenu plugin for the menu with this theme. Please tell me how to remove the theme’s menu from the responsive window. It is working replacing fine in the full window but when I resize the window and make it smaller, the theme’s default responsive menu show up. Is there a way to completely remove the default theme’a menu plugin?

Thank you.

Hi sondeep

Can you send a link to your site where is occurs to support@commercegurus.com and we’ll take a look.

Hi, could you please tell me where i the code for the currency dropdown below the add to cart button is located so i can replace the dropdown with a dropdown from another currency plugin from Aelia.

Thanks.

Hi synergysupply

I’m not sure what currency dropdown below the add to cart you’re referring to? It’s not in our demo, if it’s a separate plugin it might have position settings or documentation you can refer to.

Simon

Hi, when i enable multicurrency with wpml it appears below the divider under the qty and add to cart button.

Hi there,
