Also, can I create subcategories as well? Can each post have multiple images and videos? Thanks.

Hi There,

Thanks for your interest!
Both things can be accomplished by default with any WordPress theme via WordPress editor. As for subcategories, Yes of course.

If you need anything else, let me know,
Cheers :)

Is there a way for users to see their pending submissions? I do not see a users account when testing the demo. Thanks.

Hi There,

Thanks for your interest!
The submission form is mostly for anonymous users. But indeed has an option to allow only logged users as you can see here: If you check this: http://pasteboard.co/1AFB5rcJ.png the user will see this: http://pasteboard.co/1AFDMenC.png

The theme doesn’t have an option to display pending submissions by default, but if want to let only logged users to submit an article, the users can see the articles, pending or approved via WordPress dashboard.

I really appreciate the support, so thank you! If you like my work, don’t hesitate to follow me: http://themeforest.net/user/An-Themes/follow for more Blog / Magazine Themes!

I’m interested in your template. I would like to know, is the template available in Italian? Thanks

Hi There,

Thanks for your interest!
You can translate the Theme to your own language. The theme includes .po & .mo files for easy translation.

The Documentation that comes with the theme will guide you for a perfectly configuration of the theme and if you have any problems, I’m here to help you.

If you need anything else, let me know, friend.

Hi, how to use inside post pagination?

Hi There,

You don’t have the buyer badge, is this a pre-purchase question or a support one?

To add pagination to articles, WordPress have a default function for that purpose. From WordPress editor change from Visual to Text and add this:

<!--nextpage-->

Hi, does your theme integrate with BuddyPress? Or is there an option that people need to register first before they’ll able to upload anything?

Thank you in advance

Hi There,

Thanks for your interest!
1. We haven’t tested it with BuddyPress. The theme uses the latest WordPress standards so it should work fine, but with default style.
2. If you check this: http://pasteboard.co/1AFB5rcJ.png the user will see this: http://pasteboard.co/1AFDMenC.png

I have bought your theme before – great theme! Before I wanted to use the home page image search banner – http://anthemes.com/themes/foot/style2/ – but with a totally customizable area below this – using shortcodes (and having them act right) below this area. Before when I purchase this course – this was not possible. Has this changed since then – I’d like to purchase it again for another project. Thanks!

“I don’t like you responding in such a rude manner.”
Your messages was in the same line. If you don’t like my support, it seems you don’t, don’t renew next month when your support will expired, case closed.

Your support was great – it’s your rudeness that I didn’t like. I won’t be renewing it – no problem.

And is still great, with the ones that deserve. Good luck.

Cheers :)

Hi,

I was wondering if the theme uses post excerpts when it displays the masonry and other layouts? Or do you pull the text from the post content? If the post content, can we specify how much to pull instead of relying on the “more” tag? But in any event, Is the “more” tag supported?

Thx

Hi There,

By default, the text is added from the post content, but you can use the default excerpt from post editor too, to add it manually.

The “more” tag can’t be used, because will not display the all content in the homepage in order to use it, will display only a few characters (140) from the article post.

http://pasteboard.co/WlQWnZl.png
1st article = text from post content.
2nd article = excerpt.

Cheers :)

Thx. Is there an option to set the amount of text. I would like to use the full excerpt that I will enter in the post editor.

http://pasteboard.co/WqKmeeJ.png = for the homepage will be displayed the full test added to the “Excerpt” field, otherwise is not possible without some modification.

Cheers :)

There is a bug that causes some unknown characters to be shown. The issue is that truncation of titles on home page templates is done via substr function and it does not care about UTF-8 characters. We have changed all substr functions with mb_substr with UTF-8 charset. Could you please fix this bug, since we don’t want to deal with these changes every time there is an update?

Hi There,

I haven’t received any complaint about “unknown characters”. So can you please submit a ticket provided some screenshots and website link with the issue you mentioned, thank you.

As you can see from the above, support is offered only through the = Foot Support, so please submit a ticket if you have any concerns with the theme, thank you!

Cheers :)

Two questions:

a) Does the theme support sticky posts? And if so how are they distinguished, and is there a limit of how many sticky posts will show?

b) Is there a reason why live search is not used with the big “google” search header? Can it be added there?

Thx!

The live search can’t be used two times in a theme. The plugin used, has that limit.

Why is added to the small search? Because will be used in all pages. The big one is used only for the homepage.

If you are confused or you don’t like the way it works, you can disable the plugin and the live search will be disabled too. So will be a default search like in any theme.

Cheers :)

Hmm, ok. Would it be possible to have an option to switch the two, so users can decide which they way they would prefer them, because I would prefer the two switched so the live search is on the home page and regular search in the header.

Unfortunately can’t be switched without custom code, thank you.
Cheers :)

Hello friends!

New update for Foot Theme:
Version: 2.0 – January 15, 2016

- Fixed: WordPress 4.4.1 Pagination. The WordPress 4.4.1 security update introduced an incompatibility issue with a lot of themes that use custom pagination on homepage templates. Hopefully they will fix this issue in the next release 4.4.2 / 4.5 In the meantime a patch to fix this issue, was added to this update.
- Fixed: Buttons alignment issue in Theme Options.
- Improved: Minor CSS and HTML improvements.

Please read the readme.txt file to know what files were changed, and if is the first time you purchased “Foot” Theme, please read the Documentation for a properly configuration, like demo content, plugins, etc.

One more thing, friends, please note that the support is offered only through the = Foot Support, so please submit a ticket if you have any concerns with the theme, thank you!

Cheers :)

I’ve almost decided on this theme, but due to some technical issues with some other plugins I’m using for this project I require link post types. These are a custom post type introduced in Wordpress 3.x, which display just like normal posts, but when you click on the title the click is redirected to the first link in the post - i.e. an external website - rather than displaying the post.

It seems that Foot does not have custom post types, but since all my posts will be link posts, would I be able to make a modification to mimic the link custom post type in the child theme you include (so upgrades will easier)?

Hi There,

Thanks for your interest!
Sorry we don’t plan to add this feature. Lot of nice and handy features are already included. You can take our theme as a good base and build on top of that to create your own unique portal. Obviously will depends of your skills how easy will be to add custom post types via the Child Theme.

What “i.e. an external website” ? Could you please elaborate, thank you.
Cheers :)

Thnx for your reply. In my post above, for some reason the words “i.e. an external website” is crossed out. I don’t know why. What I was referring to was the first link in a post, in my case it will be to an external website. That is the link I wish to pick up and have the post redirected to in the way standard link custom post-types redirect.

Ahh sorry! Thanks for the clarification. I know how custom post links works. I was thinking that when you’ve browsed my demo, an external website was opened (like a pop-up ads). Sorry about that.

Cheers :)

What CSS should be used to hide author details form posts? I do not want to show this information.

Hi Interested in your theme. Got few questions (long list)

1. Can we customize the top slider between two menus, to 1 image/post at a time (currently 3 or 4 in the demos)?

2. Does side bars has widgets in the back end to add posts based on 2.1 – Category 2.2 – Author 2.3 – Sub category

3. Can authors submit based on sub categories in WordPress?

4. Is there user ranking method other than, ranking the posts by user? (or is there any algorithm that calculates author reputation, based on their rank on the posts)

5. Does social media login/author profile integrated (facebook & twitter mainly)

6. Can I disable footer slider, categories? Is it widgetized or need customer css work?

7. Can I bring up the comments section above the tags/related articles/author section? Is it in widgets or not?

p.s does this demo allow me to login as an author? or how can I see author interface (even a screenshot would be fine)

Hi I just purchased the theme. Where do I put the google analytics code?

Hi There,

Thanks for purchasing my theme!
  1. It’s an interesting idea, however that is not something currently available in the theme.
  2. Sorry, I am not sure I understand you correctly. The theme comes with 10 custom widgets. You have one widget that will give you the option to display articles based on certain category.
  3. Yes. All Categories will be displayed, or you can choose one category to be used by default.
  4. Only the “Likes” by the users. The theme has the options that can be seen in the demos.
  5. I’m using this plugin that supports “Facebook login support”. The theme doesn’t have a “Profile integration” as isn’t mentioned anything about this either in the description of the item or in the demos.
  6. Yes and Yes. You can disable the “Random Articles” slider via Theme Options > Footer Settings and you can use widgets in the footer too, as you can see from the demos.
  7. It’s not something which is included by default, however, it could be managed by editing the single.php file.
  8. The theme doesn’t have a “Profile integration” as isn’t mentioned anything about this either in the description of the item or in the demos.
  9. The login is there as an option if you want to extend the options of this theme by adding a forum etc. As you can see from the demos the submission form is for anonymous users. The submission form does not require a registration in order to submit an article. But, indeed the submission form has an option to be displayed and used only by the users that are logged in.
  10. That option was excluded from the Theme because of the ThemeForest Reviewer suggestion / requirements, and here’s why: http://wptavern.com/why-you-should-never-add-analytics-code-to-your-wordpress-theme,  from now all new themes will not have that option anymore and you’ll need to use a plugin as is mentioned in the article.

Please follow the Documentation for a properly configuration of the theme and plugins and if you have any concerns after that, submit a ticket support and I’ll be glad to help you.

Please note that the support is offered only through the = Foot Support, so please submit a ticket if you have any concerns with the theme, thank you!

Thanks one more time for your support.

I would like use this theme to our site. but i need some information before i purchase.

- This theme use clean code ? - This Theme support https ? because another reason make https not look green https in address bar. - Can you fix the Rich Snippets First. Because i have error in rich snippets testing tool using your demo URL. - Can You Optimize Page Speed Insights ?

I Like the design. But the design is not the most important thing for me. I Like Rich Snippets good, good PageSpeed Insights, Good SEO, https support, and Design. If all met, I would have bought this theme.

Ok I Understand.

And My other Question :

1. About Language. This site support Language Theme Change Or Not ? So I can Change the Theme Language to My Language in .MO File

From item description: “Translation Ready You can translate the Theme to your own language. The theme includes .po & .mo files for easy translation”. Theme info here, thank you.

Cheers :)

demo not working

Hi There,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Our website is currently down due to hosting related issues, we are working on these issues now and will move the website to an entire new hosting provider, willing to provide much more stable services .

Cheers :)

Hey. Nice theme! This may be a dumb question but I’m wondering if its possible to add custom categories? So instead of the categories listed in the demo, can I have “Restaurants”, “Clothing”, “Auto Care” etc. ?

Hi There,

Thanks for your interest!
Yes, of course. That’s how WordPress works. You can add any category / tag / article / pages you want.

Cheers :)

Great, thanks!

I have another question.. I like the “heart” functionality that allows users to “like” or “favourite” specific posts. However can this data be used in any way? For example, is it possible to sort posts by most liked, or most “hearts”?

Otherwise I don’t understand the purpose of the heart functionality…

The purpose, is to see how many “likes” your article receive. If this functionality doesn’t fit your needs, you can disable it, at the end of the day is just a plugin that add this type of functionality to the theme.

Cheers :)

Hi there, I have a pre-buying question. does the theme support messaging between the members? thank you

Hi There,

Thanks for your interest!
Unfortunately, the theme doesn’t have such option, you’ll need to use a 3rd party plugin to accomplish that. Let us know if you need anything further, my friend!

Cheers :)

Hi, I very much like your themes in particular Foot (this theme) and 1Page as they are close to what I’m looking for. However, before I can purchase, I need to know exactly what are the options the theme has so I can see if I can configure it to my exact needs. Is the documentation available somewhere so I can review it?

Otherwise I would be grateful if you could answer the following questions:

a) I only need one navigation menu. Can the menu under the featured posts be turned off?

b) What happens to the featured posts area if no posts are tagged as featured (I don’t want to display the live search there, but just make it disappear until I set some featured post.

c) Can the full width home page display more columns to fill the entire width of 1920 screens. Currently it only shows 4 columns. I would like to have 5 or 6 and automatically less on smaller screens, tablets or mobile devices.

d) Can the masonry column width be adjusted?

e) Can the category and search result pages display in masonry layout like the home page?

f) Can the author info (icon, name, etc) be removed from everywhere (home page, posts, category pages, etc.) and just the date be displayed?

g) On my mobile (iPhone) the home page “floats” around the screen. I can drag the webpage left and right or any in any direction (as if it is zoomed in ) and the featured images do not fit properly so the number of views count isn’t displayed, for example.

1page is better suited to my needs as it has more columns and displays all pages in masonry layout, but I prefer the typography of Foot and 1page also has other issues—which may be easier to fix than the above list for Foot:

a) I only need one navigation menu. Can the menu under the live search be turned off?

b) Does it have a featured post option? If not can I turn off the live search?

c) Can the masonry column width be adjusted so I can make them wider so the text can be made larger as the typography is too small for me.

d) Is there an option to display the category (I would prefer in red like Foot) on each post in the masonry display? This is very important for me.

e) Can the author info (icon, name, etc) be removed from everywhere (home page, posts, category pages, etc.) and just the date be displayed?

f) When the screen becomes smaller, you jump from 5 columns to 3 columns. Can it not adjust by 1 column at a time?

h) On my iPhone the menu bar stays displayed and is very large. Can it be set to scroll off like it does on Foot, or at least be made much smaller?

Sorry for so many questions, but if your documentation is available, I can check myself to see what options are available.

Thanks.

Hi There,

Thanks for your interest!
I’ll answer only the questions for the “Foot” theme, as for the questions for “1Page” added them here: http://themeforest.net/item/1page-masonry-wordpress-news-interesting-links/6831624 thank you.

  1. Not by default, but can be hidden with Custom CSS via Theme Options or you can delete it manually from header.php file.
  2. From Theme Options, you can turn it off: http://pasteboard.co/xi8Muk5.png
  3. This demo: http://anthemes.com/themes/foot/magazine/home-full-width-100/ it shows 5 articles in a 1920 screen. The theme has the options that can be seen in the demos.
  4. No.
  5. Yes, please test the demos, thank you.
  6. No. You can hide it with Custom CSS via Theme Options.
  7. From what I see only in iOS devices is displayed this issue, moving the content of the homepage a few pixels to right, will be fixed in the next update, is just a css issue.

Cheers :)

Thanks for your quick response.

I will post the other questions in the 1page comments. I’m looking at 5 of your themes (Foot, 1Page, Wine, Pin and Bou) and all are very good but each has a few things that are not quite right. Foot is the closest to what I need if a few things can be tuned (either in CSS or PHP).

Re #1, Fine

Re #2, Ok that is good to know it can be turned off, but what if featured posts is turned on and nothing is tagged as featured?

Re #3 & #4, Fine I was confused about which theme and option I was looking at. Foot “Home Full Width, 100%” does exactly what I want.

Re #5. You said “Yes” the tag, category, search, etc. pages can be shown in masonry layout but I am only able to see single column with two sidebars in the demos. I would like all these pages to be the same as “Home Full Width 100%”. Is this possible? This is very important for me. If you can do this then this will be the theme for me.

Re #6. Fine.

Re #7 I look forward to seeing this fixed and the display is stable.

A few more questions:

8. Also I noticed you have another slider at the bottom? What displays there and can that be configured to display a category?

9. Can posts be displayed without a sidebar, but not to full width. Same width as with sidebar but no sidebar and centred?

Thanks.

2. Will be turned OFF, nothing will be displayed.
5. Yes: http://pasteboard.co/xltdeDA.png
8. At the moment, only “Random Articles”.
9. The theme doesn’t have a full with article page, only with sidebar.

Cheers :)
