Hi. Can you suggest how to proceed if I want to save and view all the search queries that are being done in the search form? After all, the theme is for a knowledge base and I am interested in creating new articles based on what the people are looking for.

Thanks.

Hi,

the core search functionality has nothing to do with the theme, as it is handled by WordPress itself, so I can’t really help you with that. Maybe try some 3rd party plugin like this.

Hi. Great theme!

I have an issue. I want a search input in the header of my front page and in all the other pages I want the small search icon in the Header Menu. I tried and tried but could not find a way to achieve this.

I can go to Appearance/Customize/Header Settings and toggle on/off the Header Search but this setting is being applied to ALL my pages. So I have either the search input everywhere or nowhere. Also, I do not know how to add the small Search icon in the Header Menu for all the other pages.

I would appreciate any pointers. Thanks.

Hi,

enable Header Search and then set Large Header Search to “Front Page Only”.

Lubos

Thanks. I do not know how I missed that option. Sorry.

Hi There,

Thanks for this service- we’re really enjoying it so far! We have two technical issues we would like your help with:

#1 One problem we’re having is that in the article view/in the left-navbar, the categories are not showing up. For example: http://dbf.01c.myftpupload.com/knowledge-base/voicemail-setup/ Can you please provide a suggestion on how to solve this? #2 On the homepage, the ‘Go To Knowledge Base’ button doesn’t go anywhere. How do we make this link to the knowledge base, as in the demo? http://dbf.01c.myftpupload.com/#

Thank you!

Hi,

1.) Have you added the Lore Knowledge Base Categories widget into Knowledge base Sidebar under Appearance / Widgets?

2.) You can edit the link under Appearance / Customize / Default Front page Settings with Grid Button link option

Lubos

This was perfect. How does one remove the ‘hello world’ link on the homepage under categories? I do not see it in the wordpress admin under categories, pages, or articles. Thanks!

Appearance / Customize / Default Front Page Settings with CTA Block Button Link option

Hi, does your knowledge base theme support RTL?

Hi,

yes, it does support RTL.

Lubos

Dear Lubos, have you thought about releasing this as a premium plugin and not a theme?

Nice, they did some heavy customization on it. But again, I don’t think that creating a stand-alone plugin would be worth it from commercial point of view. Even the theme itself is not really a commercial success. Never say never, but I do not plan to do it in the near future.

Ok, thanx, I hope you’ll get more profit from WP and keep up the great work. Like this theme a lot, but can’t build a whole website around it, KB is only an (important) part. Good luck!

Thanks!

Hi – I would like to purchase this template but with 24 months support . How could I do that? Looking forward to hearing from you best

Hi,

I am afraid it is not technically possible to purchase support for more than one year. You can simply extend your support once it expires.

Lubos

Ok. Thanks

Ok no problem ;) That’s the account I’ve purchased your theme from.

Another issue I’m facing: I tried to add FAQ to the Header Menu. But it seemed like theres no FAQ dropdown field available to add the entry to the menu from. But: If I edit the menu in Live-Mode the following Dropdowns are suddenly available: FAQ,Knowledge Base, Keywords,Article Format, FAQ Categories, FAQ Tags, KB Categories, KB Tags.

I thought great, now I can add them, BUT if I do so the whole Header menu isn’t available any more. Like the whole menu gets deleted, if I add a field of one of the ones mentioned above. I didn’t save, so I am able to edit the menu in the backend, but the additional fields are not there…

I tried it a second time, with the exact same steps as on the first try. Now everything worked fine and the menu ist still available. The backend dropdowns are still only Pages, Articles, Links & Categories.

Any idea? Thank you! (Wordpress 4.8)

Hi,

when you are under Appearance / Menus, click on Screen Options in upper right corner where you can enable FAQ and KB posts.

Lubos

Ah great, thank you! :D

Hi,

I am sorry but you will have to contact me via an account with which you have purchased the theme to get support.

Hi, is there a possibility to import existing articles from another page as knowledge base articles. After I purchased the theme I found out that normal wordpress articles and kb-articles are separated from each other. I have to import over 300 articles including categories and author and it would be great if there is a possibility to do so. Thank you!

Hi,

you will need a 3rd party plugin for that. However, I haven’t tested it myself so I can’t guarantee it will work. But using such plugin (try searching for an alternative if this one won’t work) or coding it yourself is the only way.

Lubos

Thank you! using: https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-type-switcher/ it worked better than I expected. You can even bulk-select multiple articles and change their post type at once to “Knowledge Base”

How can we change the Title of “knowledge-base” archive I tried to change it form yoast plugin and did not work. and I override if ( ! function_exists( ‘lsvr_lore_cpt_title’ ) ) { function lsvr_lore_cpt_title( $title ) {.....}} but did not work neither Also tried this add_filter(‘wp_title’, function($orgn){ return “NEW TITLE” ; }, 900 ); but also did not work

Appearance / Customize

I did that. still not working

I’ve just tested it and it does work. Did you removed your custom code you’ve shared in the first message or have any custom code which may interfere with this?

Hello,

I am not satisfied with the theme. Can you please issue me a refund?

Thank you!

Hi,

sure, you can use this form. But can you please tell me what you didn’t like about the theme?

Lubos

Hello, prior purchase question: do the theme has no sidebar layout for the posts?

Hi,

you can disable the sidebar but that will affect both post detail and post archive.

Lubos

Are the SCSS/SASS files included?

Hi,

yes they are.

Lubos

Good afternoon

Thanks for your previous answer to my question.

Excellent template. For the next version we suggest adding or editing:

- Sidebar of knowledge base categories as floating element or with a button to appear / disappear.

- Sidebar of knowledge base categories with accordion shortcode.

- Possibility of downloading articles from the knowledge base in pdf format.

- Possibility of ordering categories and articles in the knowledge base.

- Ability to add shortcode accordion in FAQ.

From already thank you very much.

Regards.

Hi,

thanks for your feedback!

Ad download articles as PDF: check out this plugin. I haven’t tested it myself, but it should do exactly that by its description.

Ad ordering: there are already some KB article ordering options under Customizer / Knowledge Base. You can also use Intuitive Custom Post Order for full control over categories and articles order.

Ad accordion in FAQ: but that already should work. Just put the shortcode into the content. If you are having issues with this please let me know (with more details about the issue).

Ad “Sidebar of knowledge base categories..”: I am sorry, but I don’t really understand those two requests.

Hey guys, I’m experiencing an issue with the child theme’s style.css, it doesn’t seem to be working. If I use the tools provided in Appearance > Customize my css works but if I move it to the style.css it doesn’t. Inspecting the elements I’m customizing with Chrome it seems the stylesheet is not even loading, I don’t see any overrides from a parent css.

Hi,

are you sure the child theme is active? Share your URL please.

Lubos

yes it is, here you have the url http://knowledge.edventurists.com/ right now I put my css in the editor in appearance > customize since the style.css is not working atm

You child theme styles are overridden by theme’s skin. You need to set Customizer / Color Scheme to “Load from child theme”.

After following instructions in documentation, upon clicking on Activate Theme, I get the following error and the page reloads:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[’ in /home/uiuxadmin/public_html/wp-content/themes/lore/functions.php on line 434

Hi,

it seems your server is running outdated version of PHP, make sure you are running at least PHP 5.5, ideally 5.6+.

Lubos

Hi guys, I’m thinking about purchasing your theme, I’ve been through the documentation and I think it fits my needs, nonetheless, I have a question for you. I need the access to the “knowledge base” to be restricted to registered users. Is the login/registration only applicable to the forum or also to the other content/pages of the theme? Thanks

Hi,

you will have to use a 3rd party plugin for something like that.

Login functionality in the demo is part of bbPress plugin, so it is related to forums only.

Lubos

Thanks for the fast answer, could you suggest me a plugin that you believe is going to work without causing any major problems? I need to be sure to be able to set it up. Thanks!

I am sorry but I haven’t tested it with any plugin like this, but any plugin which supports custom post types should work.

Good afternoon.

We are creating our page through your template and wanted to know the following:

In the knowledge base, article views we want to edit the order of how categories and articles appear within them. That is, the organization of categories. How could we do this?

From already thank you very much.

regards

Hi,

you can use 3rd party plugin for that.

Lubos

Hi. How to change the display order of categories in the knowledge base?

You need to switch content editor to HTML mode and then change your headlines (like H1, H2, etc…) to something like:

<h2 id="your-unique-anchor">your headline title</h2>

Yes, now I understand. Thanks. Strange and uncomfortable decision. I usually just used the shortcode [toc] in such cases.

I agree it is not ideal. I may switch to something simpler in the future.
