Subject: Fullscreen hero header images cut off on mobile phone

I have fullscreen images on every page of my web site (the hero header section), but the images are cut off when viewing the site on the mobile cell phone.

Is there a workaround so that the images aren’t cut off and can be displayed fully?

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best, Nisa

Nisa,

The way we have designed our Full Screen logic – when it reduces down to Mobile devices is that – the height of the section will be the height of the content within the section plus a fixed padding value. It is done this way, as the contents in the section might not always fit in a Mobile view port.

As a alternative, in your case, you can use the MasterSlider which will scale down exactly to occupy the full screen in smaller devices as well. You can add the one image as a single slide in the Slider and add the Shortcode, in the ‘Header and Hero Sections’ metabox or using the ‘Plugin Shortcode’ module in the Page Builder Section.

Thanks, Swami

Hi Swami,

Thanks for the tip, I will try it out and see if it does the job.

Subject: Menu doesn’t open up and/or disappears upon touch on mobile phone

I am having a couple of technical issues/difficulties with accessing the menu on the mobile phone version of the site I’m working on -

(1) When I tap on the menu icon, it doesn’t open up. The logo is set to style2, so is centered on the desktop version of the site. On the cell phone, the logo seems to touch the menu and I don’t know if this is affecting the menu and why I can’t easily access it or open it up.

(2) When I can access the menu and it opens up, as soon as I put my finger on top of the menu list, the menu disappears.

What are the solutions to the above?

Thanks for your time and I look forward to hearing from you.

Best, Nisa

Hi Nisa,

Can you give me a link to your site? I will test this and let you know what the issue is.

Thanks, Swami

Hi Swami,

Is there a way for me to give you my web site url privately without publishing it here?

Thanks for your time and have a great weekend!

Best, Nisa

Sure Nisa. You can send it to me through the Private message form in the support tab in themeforest.

Thanks, Swami

Hey Swami,

Using Oshine on my personal site and I am attempting to build my site with Page Builder but then copy and paste the sections into the Wordpress editor and disable the Page Builder for SEO purposes and so I can add schema.org markup to my content. The only issue I am coming across is the background images and colors are being contained by the be-wrap and will not extend to the width of a given screen. Look here: http://www.joshrogersdesign.com

If I increase the max width of the be-wrap my other content is changed and goes out of order. What would you suggest to increase the background images and color widths to be full screen and responsive?

You can reply to me here: joshrogers@me.com

Thank you! I will let you know if I get stuck again.

Cheers

Hey Swami,

Thank you for your help. The ID we were looking for was actually ”#content-wrap”

Regardless your help was VERY appreciated – could not have done it without you.

Glad to know that :)

Hi,

Where do I entrer Master Slider purchase code required to update plugin?

Thanks, Paula

Paula,

As theme authors, we have the extended license for the plugin. Without the license you will not be able to update it. Having said that, we will be periodically updating the plugins along with the theme updates so that you stay current.

Thanks, Swami

Hi,

1_ How can I add extra icon fonts? 2_ How do I edit default contact form (builder)? 3_ Why items 9 and 12 (Alrio Showroom and Apartment WS) are off the grid in this page: http://www.chukker.net/wp/?

Thanks, Paula

There isn’t and option to include more icons to the default Icon Kit included in the theme.

You cannot edit the default contact form. Alternatively, you can use the Contact Form 7 plugin which is compatible with the theme. The plugin will let you customize the fields in the form .

The items in portfolio grid items seem to be off position as you have not uploaded the ‘Featured Image’ for the item ‘Apartment SP’. Please upload and save this and the grid should be fine.

Thanks, Swami

Hi,

Just a suggestion… Please add more details to documentation about theme configuration, I think there is a lack of info of how to set all options available.

Thanks, Paula

We have explained each feature with illustration as required about each and every theme option available in this page – http://brandexponents.com/oshin/documentation/site-options/ . Anything specific question will definitely be address as part of support.

Is there an easy way to change the width of a column in the page builder? the max-width: 940px; with 2 columns looks very wide on my screen. i would like to have it more central and smaler. thank you very much.

Unfortunately, no. The width of the column in the page builder is set up as percentile values to be responsive in all screen sizes and modifying that would disrupt the layout of the site as a whole.

Thanks, Swami

Hey, maybe iam to dumb, but i cant find the section where i can edit the Blog Preview text? Please help :)

http://www.pic-upload.de/view-27618737/Bildschirmfoto-2015-07-08-um-18.22.11.png.html

I am assuming you are having the Masonry Style Blog. For this Style, the Preview text should be added in the Excerpt Section at the bottom of the page like here – http://cl.ly/image/0v070z3x171b?_ga=1.248783623.1429764350.1436197404

Thanks, Swami

Looks like you have not enabled it. You need to enable it in the ‘Screen Options’ section on the top right corner of the post page.

Thanks, Swami

My question about the “thank you” page is actually to understand where to implement the google analytics conversion code. please address this issue. Where do u need to put the analytics code

Thank’s.

Hi,

You can add your Google Analytics ID in the option under Oshin Options > General Settings > Google Analytics Code.

Thanks, Swami

Yes but that google code is for tracking all site activity and i want to track the conversion of a specific form. Does the template have that option?

Unfortunately, no. There isn’t an option for this.

Thanks, Swami

I promise this is my last change :)

On mobile, how do I u make the menu icon a bit bigger and move it down (so the bottom of the icon lines up with the bottom of the logo/menu).

Also, on the contacts page (on the mobile site), there is a big gap between the heading ‘Contacts’ and the information. The page appears blank and you have to scroll down a lot to see the first contact info.

There isn’t an option to adjust the size of the mobile menu. I am sorry about that.

The space in the contact page on mobile devices, is because you have enabled the Option called ‘No Space Between Columns’ in the Row’s Setting of the first row where you have the title. Disable this and the space should be gone.

Thanks, Swami

It says your newest update (Oshine 2) is out and I’ve seen you make mention of it’s functionality within the comment section here, but I cannot see where this new version is to download. The site here says the latest release was in June.

How do I get the updated version? Thank you

We have included the One Click Import functionality in Oshine 1.9. If you have this version and you have validated your purchase code under Appearances > Oshin Purchase Code , you will be able to find the latest version notification under Appearances > Themes. Click on the update button to get the latest version.

If you do not have Oshine 1.9, then you have to download the latest version from the ‘downloads’ tab in themeforest and update it as per the instructions here – http://brandexponents.com/oshin/documentation/#update-theme

Thanks, Swami

Hi, I just bought this theme. When I trying to install it on WP it says “The package could not be installed. The theme is missing style.css” Thanks in advance

Hi,

While uploading the theme via WordPress, if you are getting an error that reads Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing, This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Please ensure that you upload the correct file which is ‘oshine.zip’. This article from Envato explains about this common issue.

Thanks, Swami

Im having issues with the v10 portfolio. I create the portfolio items and assign a category and all the information such as title, client name, date, & featured image, but the portfolio will not display any of my items? I did multiple installs to check and see if it was an error but I’m still having the same issue. Can you help me out with some details on how to set up the dual carousel slider?

Hi,

To add a Dual Carousel -

1. Add a new Page

2. Set the Page Template in the Bottom Right corner as ‘Portfolio’

3. In the ‘Portfolio Template Options’ metabox, choose the Slider Type as ‘Dual Carousel’. You can also set up the other options like the Category of Portfolio and Animation Style here.

The Dual Carousel template, will pull the Portfolio post items. The content that you give in the Page Builder section of the respective Portfolio will be shown in the Left and the images that you upload under the Slider Images section of the respective Portfolio will be seen in the right side.

Thanks, Swami

Hi,

We just can’t make the size of the thumbnails bigger under “Portfolio” (Projects). It looks good when you make the window smaller (one or two rows) or on a phone. We have used the plugin ‘Regenerate Thumbnail’ and the galleries really looks nice and the thumbnails there looks great as you can see, test-site: http://padelshopen.se But how do we make the portfolio-thumbnails about the same size as gallery?

Thanks/MB

Hi MB,

I am not quite sure why the size if the thumbnail and the container itself is small in the Portfolio Module. Can you send me your url, wp-admin id and password via the Private Message form in the support tab in Themeforest.

Thanks, Swami

hi noam. thanks for this amazing theme! how i can edit homepage?? my site is it : www.avitadev.com , and i want to edit the content of static index page , footer content and our work and … please help me , thanks

Hi,

Thank you for the compliment!

The content in the Page is built using the Page Builder. If you go to the Page Backend you can find the Visual Page Editor beneath the default content editor. You can edit the content there.

The Footer , i am assuming you want to edit the widget area (above the Copyrights section). You can do this under Appearances > Widgets. There are 4 widgets for each of the four columns namely – Footer Column 1,2,3 and 4).

The Our Work Section is created using the Portfolio Module, which in included in the page builder like i have mentioned before. The single page styles for these post items should be built using the Portfolio Post. The following video tutorials will explain everything about portfolio -

Thanks, Swami

How can I disable the comment section and the share buttons in the blog posts. Thanks.

To disable the comments , open the ‘Screen Options’ on the right top corner of the Post page (backend) and enable the option called Discussions. Scroll down the page to find the discussions metabox. Disable the ‘Allow Comments’ option in this and save the post. You will however see a note called ‘Comments are closed’ in the post page. To hide that, use the css code below -

.single-post .be-themes-comments{ display: none; }

To hide the Social Sharing Button, use the custom css code below -

.single-post .single-page-att{ display: none; }

.single-post .single-page-att.single-post-tags{ display: block; }

The css codes should be added in the Custom CSS section in General Settings tab under Oshin Options.

Thanks, Swami

thank you, unfortunatly it won’t work … i the line there is a red box with a white cross in it in front, and it states the mistake: “expected an identifier and instead saw ’.’. Missing ”;” before statement Label ‘display’ on none statement.

Hi,

Kindly install the Oshin Child theme and use the code I provided in the style.css file of the child theme. Let me know if it works.

Thanks, Swami

Hi, is there a setting I need to turn on if I want the animated numbers to animate when looking at the specific section? At the moment they animate when landing on the page and not when scrolling down to the specific section. I always have to refresh to see it animate.

Hi,

We have designed the animated module in a way that it starts counting only on reaching the section. You can check this in our demo as well. Can you give me a link to your site, so I can check why this is working differently in your site.?

Thanks, Swami

Hi I just try to insert a picture in my text blog and resize it manually but on the page it enlarge it to full size. Even when I insert a very small picture it enlarge it to full screen. How can I insert small images within the blog page? Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Kindly use the following custom css snippet to prevent the images from scaling to width of the post container.

.post-content img { width: auto; }

Paste it the custom css setting under the “General” section of the options panel.

Thanks, Swami

Thanks that works

Hi – is there a way to easily remove the responsive functionality from the template? i.e. to not resize everything for mobile optimization? Many thanks.

Hi,

Unfortunately, no. The responsiveness of the theme is built in intricately and there isn’t an option to turn in off.

Thanks, Swami

Many thanks – How about to turn the mobile menu off and just leave the text menu?

By Text Menu, do you mean the ‘Right Sliding Menu’ ?

There isn’t an option to remove the Mobile Menu, however you can do this using custom CSS code which is -

.mobile-nav-controller-wrap{ display: none !important; }

You need to paste the code in the custom CSS section in General Settings Tab under Oshin Options.

Thanks, Swami

Hi,

I’d like to know if there’s a way to adjust the spacing (margin ?) between colums of the page builder.

I use it so display fixed image and I find the defaut margin between columns (and lines actually) a bit too big.

Thank you

J.

It’s probably better with a screenshot : http://i.imgur.com/26gsv3O.png The blue arrows are the spacing I would like to reduce.

I used the page builder with 1 textblock per image. I don’t know if there is a easier way to display still images on a grid.

Thanks,

Hi,

Yes it is possible to reduce the spacing between the images. To reduce the spacing on the Top , you can add the image in a separate Section and adjust the ‘Section Padding’ accordingly . You also have to disable the ‘Row Bottom Margin’ in the Row’s setting.

To reduce the space between 2 adjacent columns, you can enable ‘No Space Between Columns’ in the Row’s setting. This will place the images next to each other with out any white space. You can then use the ‘Column’ padding on both these columns to adjust the spacing to a value of your choice. The padding value can be provided in px/percentage and ensure to check the ‘enable’ padding option.

Thanks, Swami
