Hi Swami,

Another question for ya. Is there a way of having items in the menu that act solely as the parent, as a way of seeing sub-items? An example is the menu on this website : http://winniewow.com/ . You can click on ‘portfolios’ without going through to a page. How can this be done?

Thanks in advance! Shereen.

Hi Shereen,

Do you mean you want the Sub Menu to be visible at all times, without having to click the respective Menu Menu ? If so, there isn’t an option to do this. But the below CSS code will override the existing functionality and the Sub Menu will be visible straight away for Left Header Style Menu.

.left-header #slidebar-menu .menu-item .sub-menu{
    display: block !important;
}
#slidebar-menu .menu-item .icon-icon_plus {
    display: none;
}

Paste the code in the Custom CSS Section under Oshin Options > General Settings. Ensure that you remove the ‘pre’ tags while using the CSS code as they are just used for formatting the code here in the Comments Section.

Thanks, Swami

Thanks a lot! Your help is very much appreciated. I have a couple of other questions I was hoping you could help with.

1. I am trying to get the masonry gallery to span the whole width of the page. In the page builder, I checked off the “no wrap” option. However, there is still a white sidebar to the right side of the page. Even if I set the gallery to 4 columns, the images will reset so that there is a white sidebar. Is there any way to fix this, so that the images take up the whole page?

2. I searched through some other comments, and found exactly what I needed in your help to Sguth—I would really like the background color of the lightbox to go semi-transparent white rather than black. I tried adding the code you provided in the Custom CSS, but nothing appears to be changing. I’m not sure if you have access, but here is the link to the page: http://74.220.219.113/~shereenz/?page_id=3987 . The custom CSS currently includes: .gallery_content { box-shadow: 0 -1px 10px rgba(0,0,0,0.2); } /Change BG color/ .my-mfp-zoom-in.mfp-ready.mfp-bg{ opacity: 0.9; } .mfp-bg{ background: #ffffff; }

Do you know what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance, have a great day! - Shereen

Hi Shereen,

The website link is in maintenance mode and i need to credentials to check why the ‘No Wrap’ on the gallery is not working. I have also responded to your email where you can give me the credentials.

We have 2 types of Lightboxes. Here is the code to change the BG cole for both of them.

/*Magnific Pop Up*/
.my-mfp-zoom-in.mfp-ready.mfp-bg{
    opacity: 0.9;
}

.mfp-bg{
    background: #ffffff;
}
/*Photoswipe*/
.pswp__bg{
    background: #ffffff;
}

Ensure you paste the code without the ‘pre’ tags are they are just used here for formatting purposes. You have to paste the code in the Custom CSS section under Oshin Options > General Settings.

Thanks, Swami

Hi Swami, I am loving this theme. Been looking for a good theme for a while and am so glad I bought this one. It has so much possibilities. Thank you for that!

One question though. For my portfolio items I am using the Horizontal Carousel template. I would like to show the title of the portfolio item so that people see what they are looking at. Is this a setting I have missed or is this not possible at the moment?

Thanks for your reply. Egbert

Hi Egbert,

Thank you very much. I am glad you like the theme :-)

Are you using the “Portfolio” template or “Gallery” template in your page? Because, if you are using the Portfolio template, the name of item that you set up (in the respective Portfolio Item) will by default be shown in the bottom left corner of each image.

Thanks, Swami

One more question is there a way to turn off the bottom widget area? I’ve seen some of the demo’s without it but I can’t figure out how to remove it.

Yes. There is an option in each page under the ‘Other Layout Options’ metabox to ‘Turn OFF’ the Bottom Widget Area.

Thanks, Swami

Thank you!!!

Hi, I’m considering this theme for a client, but I noticed that some animations don’t look right in IE11: http://bit.ly/1fbXJNY Is this an issue you’re aware of? Would there a way to correct it?

Great, thank you :)

Hi, I saw there was an update yesterday but the issue still appears on the live demo. Do you know when it will be corrected?

This update was to fix very critical issue with the Instagram module that many of our buyers were facing. We are working on the IE fixes and that will be included in a special update in few weeks.

Thanks, Swami

Hey Guys!! I am 99.9% down with my site, but I am having a hard time changing the color. I have a shop and all the colors are changed BUT the “add to cart” and “proceed to checkout” and “place order” buttons. It’s the default “orange” color and I wanted a pink color. I can not find where to edit this. Thanks in adwance

The option to change the Colors for the Shop Page’s button is given under Oshin Options > Shop Settings. You can have 2 sets of button style for your Primary and Secondary buttons. The primary include Add to Cart, Proceed to Checkout and Place Order, while all other buttons will take styling chosen for Secondary button. Have you changed the colors here?

Thanks, Swami

Hi Swami,

Can I please have a copy of this CSS code:

“To hide the Single Page Navigation Bullets from Mobile devices, use the CSS code below in the custom CSS section under Oshin Options > General Settings.”

Also, is there a way to control the colour of mobile navigation symbol? I’ve just updated the theme to 2.1 and the animated black rules don’t work on our home page.

Many thanks, Simon

In the Page Builder section where you have added Content for these items, make the Section Top padding as ‘0’ and check if that fixes the issue. If not, send me your URL,wp-admin id and password through the support tab in Themeforest and I will look into this.

Thanks, Swami

Hi Swami, we’ve tried that but can’t find a solution. Have sent you log in credentials.

Many thanks, Simon

Responded to your email.

Hi, I have done an update on page builder yesterday, and now in my portfolio page only the latest portfolio image is visible, the rest are only evident on hover. is there a new setting i am missing or is it a bug? http://imageneration.co.uk/imageneration-photography-portfolio/

also can not seem to update master slider both in the dashboard and via FTP. Thank you

I am viewing you site now, and all the Portfolio items including the latest items. I am assuming the issue was temporary and is fixed now.

Regarding the Master Slider – we have included the latest version of the Slider with the recent theme update (Oshine 2.1) . You have to delete the version you have and install the new one afresh. What is the error message that you are getting while trying to install the latest version?

Thanks, Swami

Hi, Love this theme! Is there a way to add a background color to a “Special Title” ?

Hi,

You do not have an option to add Background Color to the Module itself. However, you can add the color to the Column that is encompassing the Special Title. You should be adding the Title separately, in a Column, and apply the Background Color to the Column in the Column’s setting panel. You can also add some padding to the Column to create some space around the module.

Thanks, Swami

Is it possible to upload a pdf file like a resume so that employers can download it?

You can upload a PDF file to the media library and add it in your page. However there is no direct option to have the file downloaded. You can probably use a Button, and link it to the source path of the ‘file’ and browser will automatically open it which can be then downloaded.

Thanks, Swami

Thank you for your response Swami!

hello. I noticed there is a way to disable sections on mobile. is there a way to disable the header hero, or revolution slider on mobile? this would be a great feature as I noticed it doesn’t load as well or look as nice on mobile.

There isn’t a feature for this in the theme. But you can do so, with the help of a Custom CSS code. Give me a link to your site, specifying in which page you want the Hero Section hidden, and i will give you the code.

Thanks, Swami

Hi There

I recently purchased the theme and am in the very early stages of setting up my site but keep running into simple issues – e.g. Under ‘Colours’, each option has only the check box for transparent but no way to add custom colour, also I can’t upload my logo, ‘upload’ is not a proper link and if clicked on it takes me to a page which won’t scroll at all and I can’t select anything to upload from that page anyway. And although I have created a menu and set its location it still will not pick it up and change it on the front end.

Any thoughts on these? Thanks! Becky

Becky,

Send me your cPanel and FTP details my email ID. This has definitely got something to do with the hosting provider. However, i am not sure what it is. Let me try and install the theme in your server once again and try to find the cause.

Thanks, Swami

Hi Swami I sent you those details via the email box on the ‘brandexponents’ profile page a few days ago but have not heard back yet so just wanted to check if you had received them?

Thanks Becky

Fixed the issue in your site and responded to your email.

Thanks, Swami

Hello,

I have problem with portfolio grid. I set up the page and everything worked fine. Today I came and I found out that my images don’t show in portfolio grid. If I scroll around the page with mouse it shows the names of galleries. If I click on some it again doesn’t show images inside the gallery. But they are there. If i click on the blank squares. The images pop up. The feature images are set up. I dont know where is the problem. How can I fix it?

Hi,

Can you check if the Caching Option is Turned ON ? You have this option under Oshin Options > General Settings. If yes, turn this OFF and save your settings.

If this is not the case – check if you have enabled any caching Plugin in your site. If so, Delete/Purge/Flush the cache, and disable the plugin and then try saving the options.

Thanks, Swami

Hi again Superman Swami, two minor but important fixes is needed …

In the the “Other Layout Options” I fancy the: “Scroll To Sections” = UNchecked! “Single page version” = Checked

=> that is both having the navigation bullets and the scroll bar at the same time…

However, when “Scroll To Sections” is unchecked, – there is no selected/highlighted bullet … like there is when it’s checked (also the style looks diffrent) ... would be nice if the bullet is still active dependent on the section that is most active…

Lastly I want the bullets to go away on mobile units (it just takes up screen space unnecessarily …

Is these things possible to fix for those two things? :/

Thank you I am glad it worked for you!

Superman Swami … look like you nailed it? just wanted to say thnx!

Yes , we have included this in the latest update.

Thanks, Swami

Hi my site is way under construction but I’m having 2 problems, first the nav bar is off, it won’t go to the top right of the page like it is supposed to. I’ve tried different logos, to make sure that wasn’t it and reloaded the menu and tried different versions of the menu but it won’t budge help please. www.oliviaparriott.com Second how do you change the “filterable portfolio” text or “categories” from the list that is default set, I can’t seem to find a way to create my own categories but there must be. Help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Thank you, the problem is it isn’t at the top of the page, the very top its down a bit which I think looks weird. In the version I chose it is at the very top. I have the right header chosen and top header layout I’ve checked it in chrome and Safari just to be sure.

The Navigation menu is designed to be aligned vertically Middle to the Logo + the Padding you set for the Logo. One option you have is to ‘0’ the Logo Padding under Oshin Options > Top Header Settings. This way the resultant height of the logo will reduce and the Menu will move up, however not totally towards to top.

Thanks, Swami

ok thank you!

Is there a code snippet I could use that changes the size of the featured image size on the single post page? My images are not very large so they look awful when stretched to full page or half page (if using single post sidebar)

I saw code that hides the featured image on the single blog page, so I’m hoping there is a fix for making it display smaller. Again, I’d like the featured image to be displayed but in it’s uploaded/original size and not be stretched to fit

Thank you

Swami, The featured mages on my main blog page come out all different sizes, making the blog list look messy. Is there a way to have them all scaled to a certain dimension? Other blogs I’ve used generate a thumbnail or shrink/ crop for a consistent look. I’d like to have that here.

I have used 2 code snippets provided to me to fix my signal page blog images so far. 1) stops the featured image from posting full screen 2) Fixes the bug that stretched the images inserted into the blog itself. Are these creating the problem? Is there a plugin I can use to get all my thumbnails the same size?

Thank you!

Sorry for yet another question. You can disregard the one above as this is much more urgent! The Mega Menu:

I’m not seeing any mega menu options and the ones I do see I can’t get to work. There is a CSS Class field, a Link Relationship Field, and a Description box. Filling them out has no effect. I also don’t see the usual “mega menu checkbox” to enable the mega menu style options. I also don’t see an area to add icons

Am I missing something? Skipping a step or a setting I need to check elsewhere to get these functional? Is the theme compatible with these mega menu customization options? If not is there a mega menu plugin (free or premium) that is compatible with the theme. It is vital i have more style options!

Thank You Swami!

Hi Johna,

The instructions on how to set up the Mega Menu is given in this section of the documentation. Have you followed the instructions here – http://brandexponents.com/oshin/documentation/#megamenu ? Let me know if you are stuck even after following the instructions here.

Thanks, Swami

Hi, I am getting the ‘unable to display a Google Maps element.’ error. I saw in the comments that a couple of months ago you had suggested a few people to update the BE Page Builder, but there is currently no update option. It shows that I have version 1.0. If I tick the box beside BE Page Builder and use the update in the dropdown list at the bottom of the plugins page it tells me that I have the latest option… when I clearly don’t

How else can I update it to get rid of the error?

Thank you,

Alex

Hi Alex,

Please download the entire theme package from the downloads section of your theme forest account and then update both the theme and the BE Page Builder plugin manually using the zip files provided in the package. Since you are using version 1.0 of the plugin, you will not have the provision to update it with one click since that option was added only in a later version. However after this upgrade, you just need to update your purchase code in the backend and subsequently you will be able to future editions directly from the dashboard.

Thanks, Swami

Hi Swami,

Sorry to be a pain, i followed your instructions on the update : OPTION 2 If the version of the theme is lower than Oshine 1.9, you will not have the One Click Update feature. To update the theme manually, follow the steps below. Step 1 – Download the latest version of the theme by logging on to your Themeforest account and then navigating to the “Downloads” section. Step 2 – Extract the theme package and unzip the ‘oshine.zip’ file. Connect to your server via FTP and navigate to /wp-content/themes folder of your wordpress installation, replace the existing folder named “oshin” with the unzipped folder.

it says the theme is broken, theme installed but incomplete. themes must have a stylesheet and a template. what do i need to do to rectify this? i did also back up options panel

thanks

Hi,

I think you uploaded the entire theme package instead of just the folder named “Oshin” which would have been available after extracting oshine.zip , please remove what ever folder you uploaded and then try this alternative method.

Install the following plugin. https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/ and then proceed to install the new update ( Appearances -> Themes -> Add New -> Oshine.zip ) as though you are installing a new theme. You DON’T have to delete the existing theme. The plugin will take care of it for you.

Thanks. Swami
