Hi, I have headers put in on the majority of my pages with a column background set to 350px using a spacer. All pages are set to full width template. When I look on mobile they do not shrink to fit within the screen. Did I miss something or can this be fixed with adding something to the column? Dev.bellaromafoods.com. Thanks!

I have a question.
If I get a graphic web designer to design me a PSD, can it be coded into your theme, or does he have to make the design look like your demo?
I’m confused as to how themes work when you cant a custom design done.

Thank you for the interest in the U-Design theme.
To your question, it’s best to work with the theme itself you don’t need a PSD for that, usually the theme itself is designed and built with a PSD. You could of course use a PSD design as a guide for your layout, but I don’t see the extra cost to hire someone to design you the PSD justified when a flexible theme will let you create most layouts you need. If you were to hire a graphic designer it’s more important that they understand WordPress themes and help you with some of the graphics that you’ll need, things like slider images, backgrounds, colors, etc.
Most users of my theme don’t need to use a PSD, they just work with theme’s options to set it up section by section to achieve their designed look and feel.

I understand that, but he’s not a coder nor a WP expert, so he’s just going to create the design for me without knowing anything about your theme.
My question is, can I make your theme match any design he comes up with once I get the PSD from him & then get a coder to make the changes?

Any theme would have some limitations, I’ll need to see the design to tell you, it’s hard for me to guess what he’s going to come up with. In general my theme is very flexible and can accommodate many designs. Show me another site that shows roughly what you want and then I can tell you how easy it would be to implement it with my theme.

I installed on my website the Visual composer plugin version 4.8.1 and wordpress version 4.4.1; i have an issue related to put more than 8 links for page built whit visual composer plugin; yesterday i have write to Visual Composer assistance, and they answer me:
“The issue is because there is an inbuilt version of Visual Composer (or the related code) present in your theme which is overriding the standalone plugin version and hence causing the issue. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. Kindly check.”

Hello! I love the features of your theme.
For a customer I have to build an e-commerce store with a custom header for his landing page. Is your theme customizable to look and behave like my demo which you can find here: http://goo.gl/bbjCm1
There is no conventional navigation – just a pictogram menue. Important: The logo has to disappear when rendered on tablets in portrait mode and below. The headline (graphic) has to be centered instead of the logo. And the sidebar should appear at the end (centered).
Possible with your theme? Woud be great

Hi John,
pretty much anything is possible with my theme, it’s very flexible, that said there are some features that are a little easier to implement just by selecting and option, in your cause it would require most likely involving a “child” theme, which we also offer for U-Design, and the theme’s hooks/filters API which allows you to insert your special menu to always be present at the top of each page or selected pages, we could certainly offer you some help with that.
As for the sidebar in responsive mode, yes it would always position itself after the content in mobile devices by default.

you could change the page width to any value you’d like as for the number of products per row you’d have to specify that via the WooComm. action hook I think we have that discussed a couple of times in the support forum already. As for the real footer, I’m not sure what you mean by that, please explain?

give it another try, make sure when you copy/paste the purchase code that you don’t accidentally introduce an extra character, Envato username is case-sensitive, in your case use “hanidesign” without the quotes. Yesterday I purchased the template, and I’m happy for the quick response. But why is it so difficult to find the demo? Typically, it is in the theme folder or there’s a link in Documentation file. I access to my account in the support, but I could not find the demo and I post a request there. It’s very frustrating, delaying and making it difficult to work .

sorry for the confusion, I’ve provided the demo site import in the theme’s support forum as it needed extensive instructions, video tutorial, screenshots, etc, so it’s more convenient to have all this in one place. The post was a “sticky” post there with name “Optional Demo Content” you should have seen it on the top there along with the other announcement posts. I see you just emailed me so I’ll email you back with the link to the forum thread with that info.

The search box on the “uDesign” theme doesn’t meet accessibility requirements as shown here: http://wave.webaim.org/report#/http://msi.prod.uoregon.edu/. Here is the description of the errors:
- The search input does not have a corresponding label.
- The submit button has empty value.
The theme was installed by a third party for the above university site. We can easily fix this but I thought I would inform you about that so you can look into that as well.

Thank you for pointing that out, yes I can fix this for the next update, I also noticed you have fallen behind with the updates a bit currently you don’t have the most recent release of the theme.
Also keep in mind that the theme is not strictly following accessibility guidelines, it’s pretty good but not 100% strict, so you might find other things here and there, in general it is accessibility friendly but not as strict as it would be if this were a government grade website.
For example in the above mentioned searchbox, if I added a label element tag I will also have to hide it visually with “display:none;” CSS because I don’t want it shown it’s not part of the design, which on the other hand Search Engines don’t like to see and possibly get SEO punishment for hiding text…, I think screen readers can still figure out that this is a searchbox field.
Also, the searchbox was added using the theme’s own action hooks/filters API so you could easily customize it anyway you want, both markup and CSS, using a “child” theme. You will find the hook you need to use in this case in “functions.php”, look for:
add_action('udesign_top_elements_inside', 'udesign_top_elements_searchbox', 9);
If you’re interested you may learn more on this topic in U-Design Action Hooks and Filters Reference.
So, if you need stricter accessibility rules applied use the hook I mentioned above to modify the markup with a U-Design “child” theme. You may grab a copy of a U-Design “child” theme from the theme’s support forum HERE.

hi im trying to create a static caravan hire platform website basically caravan owners will signup and list their caravans for hire. now i just have two questions for you before i decide if your theme is for me?
1) does your theme include or can it have advanced search – as i need customers to be able to search for specific caravans based on location, price, features and amentitues etc
2. does your theme have custom listing forms – as when a caravan owner signs up i need to force them to select certain things with drop boxes and tick boxes etc?

I think for something like this you would need a plugin that offers of the features, for example a car dealership like plugin would give you most of the functionality you need, either that or theme specifically built for that niche, my theme is an all-purpose theme, it could be used for many situations but what you require is more specific functionality.

ah ok, so are you saying i could use ur theme but id need something like a car dealership plugin or just try and find a theme centered aroudn what i need? its really hard to find something isnt it, been searching on themeforest for a few days now
it would be hard to find a theme to do specifically that, you see themes are supposed to do one thing and that is to “dress” your site (colors, background images, styling, fonts, typography, etc.). More advanced functionality that would require processing some sort of business logic should be integrated with WordPress plugins, that’s what plugins are for. Car dealership plugin was an example that off the top of my head I think might be as closest out of the box to what you’re looking for with some minor tweaks.
Have you tried searching through the plugins at CodeCanyon?
