Hi, I’m trying to install oshine theme for hours…. I’ve put the unzipped file per ftp client on the webserver. Unfortunately, I always get this error ( Warning: require(/httpdocs/wordpress/wp-content/themes/oshin/meta-box/inc/fields/input.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in httpdocs/wordpress/wp-content/themes/oshin/meta-box/inc/loader.php on line 112) when I want to open the theme on the dasbord. Can you please tell me what I can do? I never had such problem before with other themes. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,
Please install and activate Oshine child theme and then copy 404.php file from parent theme to child theme and open it. You can modify the template as per your need.
Or if you just need to logo to be visible, you can edit the BG color of the header to a darker color under OSHINE OPTIONS > BACKGROUND which will take effect in the 404 page as well. This way the logo will be visible.

Hi agains. First of all, thanks for the last answer. Now I am traying to include one gallery in my homepage under my menu. I haven´t any problem including the gallery but what I really need is that the gallery doesn´t have lightbox. I need when I pass the mouse over the images, the images change the color or opacity but the lightbox doesn´t appear. Is it possible?. Thanks again.

We have responded to your email query asking for the URL. If you site is not uploaded to the server yet, please send us screenshots of your page so we can guide you. Just so we are clear, are you using a grid Gallery or a Carousel Gallery in your page? Because the lightbox option is available only on Grid Gallery.

When I make a gallery in a blog, is it possible that you also can see portrait photo’s. Now only landscape are good visible and portrait you see only a part of it.

The aspect ratio (width/height) of the Gallery / Portfolio thumbnails can be changed according to your images in the options panel under OSHINE OPTIONS > PORTFOLIO SETTINGS. Note that if you change the aspect ratio, you have to regenerate the thumbnails using the Regenerate Thumbnail plugin.
Another option is to enable the ‘Masonry’ option in the Gallery Module. In this case, the images will be pulled up in their original aspect ratio.

So I have the page pretty much where I want it. 2 things are not working properly. 1 The portfolio I have created I do not see a way to insert it onto the page portfolio I have created. I want a portfolio page with multiple categories of portfolios such as weddings, portraits, fashion, and so fourth. 2 the contact form does not send me email and I have tested it out and entered my address into the form properly. Help?

2. It is likely that your hosting provider has blocked the default php mail() function. I would recommend you to try using the contact form 7 plugin? (free)? ?to create your form. The plugin will provide a shortcode for the form, which you simply need to paste in a PLUGIN SHORTCODES module of the page builder.

This might have occurred if you had an older version of the theme. Can you tell me the version of theme you had prior to updating the BE Page Builder plugin? However to fix the issue now, please email your URL, wp-admin id and password and also you FTP details so i can log into the server and update both the Theme and Plugin to the latest versions.

The social icons at the bottom of a blog post. If i click on facebook, for example, an arbitrary image is selected from my post, in my case the second from last in the post. Is there a way to control this? Maybe use the featured image or allow a selection from the post? Thanks as always

Apologies about the delay in the response. I would suggest you use the WPSSO plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpsso/ . This plugin provides option to generate open graph tags to optimise sharing across social media channels. You can choose the image that needs to be shared, and by default it will pick the featured image in case of the Blog Post.

Hi there, I have a question. My website is pretty much ready to launch.
However, there is something that I can’t get my head around. On my home page I’m using Masterslider. What I am attempting to do (I know it’s possible, i’ve seen it working) is when I click on the slide, a lightbox open showing a video (vimeo or just a plain mp4 I have on the server). Can you help me with this? If not, who can I contact from MasterSlider to help me with this situation?

You can check if this feature is built in the plugin by reading through their documentation here – http://masterslider.com/doc/wp/ .
Alternatively, you can create a Lightbox Button using the Button module in the BE Page Builder, and copy the Shortcode and paste it in a Text Layer on your Master Slider’s slide. The option to copy a button module can be found in the top right corner of the module in Page builder.

Hi, yes, it says i can have a lightbox on the slider, using prettyPhoto, for example to do it. I tried it and it works with an image link. Don’t know how to attach a video to the image URL.

I have upgraded WP to 4.5.2 and the theme to 4.3.1. It appears that the Lightbox and Lightbox Gallery options in the Portfolio Page Style are broken. No gallery imagery displays on the page.

Apologies, but there isn’t an option to add custom Classes to Blog posts in the theme. You can check if there are 3rd party plugins that provide the option to add classes to the Post and use those classes to add your styling.

The plugin that you are looking to use is an extension specifically meant for Rows in Visual Composer. In Oshine, we do not use Visual Composer. We use our own BE page builder and hence the extension might most likely not take effect on it.

Happy the theme has continued to evolve and for the most part I’ve really enjoyed the theme. A couple things I wanted to check in on…
1. Retina. I have to admit I’ve been disappointed that I’ve had to use a 3rd party plug-in like retina 2x to make retina images show properly. Additionally, with the exception of a few images I cannot get the plugin to generate the high res versions of over 30 logos that I need high res. I see it’s wanting me to upgrade to a pro version which would be even more frustrating. Here is a screenshot of what is happening:

2. I’ve asked about this before but it is so limiting to have the system auto assign the amount of columns for responsive devices. I wish I had just a bit more control over the way the galleries and thumbs reorder to columns of 3, 2, and 1 on tablets and smartphones since it forces the user to have to scroll so much and also since it sorts in both even and odds often resulting in one image at the bottom being left as a hanger. Any update or solution to this?
Overall, I LOVE the theme…just a couple biggies I’m hoping to resolve before pushing site live:

I am glad you like our theme and your website is just awesome. One of the best built using our theme.
1. Please understand that when a theme says its retina ready, it basically means that it either uses scalable vector resources or font icons which do not pixelate when scaled. Or if it uses backgrounds images / bg patterns etc that is included via css, then it has appropriately made those resources retina ready as well. A theme cannot provide you with the functionality to create and serve retina images. It is still in the hands of the end user ( you ) to upload retina ready versions of your images and serve them. WP Retina 2x is the most popular plugin out there that does this job for you, but obviously not all its functionality is available for free. If you would like to use its pro features then you should probably get a license.
2. In the latest version of the our theme, we have released a new type of gallery called “Justified Gallery” , a grid where images retain their aspect ratios and depending on the aspect ratio, in mobile devices some of them may be in two columns, some of them in one column etc. Its a completely dynamic gallery. You can give it a try. We will definitely give option to make a gallery / portfolio grid two columns in mobile devices, but unfortunately we have high priority stuff to take care of to make the theme the number one tool for designing websites. We are building a live front end builder which we hope to release in about 8 weeks, which will have a grid builder in it and hopefully we will try to provide more options for controlling the grid columns in mobile devices.

1. Thanks for the response to this question, but I guess I’m still confused since I have and am building site on other popular themes and I don’t need any third party plugin to display retina images. I’m hoping you were able to take a look at the screen shot I provided since I’m looking to get clarification on Retina 2x. The only thing I can seem to figure is that the plugin that required gives you like 8 retina images for free…then after that you have to buy a license for $35.00 extra?
I’m hoping I’m wrong and that I’ve got some preference set wrong. All the images I’m showing are at 144ppi resolution, have @2x file names, and have 72 ppi alternates as well.
2. I’ve just updated the theme so I will be looking forward to looking at the justified gallery. I know I’ve asked this before so thanks for giving me an update and I REALLY look forward to the new update with the grid builder built in.
Forgive me if I’ve missed something. I’ve updated to 4.4 and I don’t see any indication of a Justified Gallery. I’ve look in the gallery settings, portfolio preferences, as well in general settings. Can you direct me towards this so I can give it a shot…thanks!

I had updated everything before I reached out last and just double checked and I am using 4.4.1, however I just don’t see where the justified gallery is? Can you tell me specifically where I can access that feature?
I forgot to ask last if it was possible in the PhotoSwipe gallery if you could:
1) Disable the download image feature (I can’t have people stealing my work) 2) By default have the image zoomed in so the image is flush edge to edge rather than almost full screen with the black bar on top?

1. The Justified Gallery is added as a Module in the BE Page Builder. You will be able to see is listed among other modules like Gallery , Portfolio , button etc. If you still can’t find it, please email me your admin details via the contact form in the Support Tab so I can investigate the issue.

After importing the demo content, you need to follow the instructions here to set your Main Menu – http://www.brandexponents.com/oshine-knowledgebase/knowledge-base/import-demo-content/#menu .
If the Menu does not get saved, even after setting the menu, then it is likely that the server config parameter “max_input_vars” is insufficient. Kindly set this to 2000 in your php.ini file and then you should be able to save the menu. If you are not familiar with modifying this, you can reach out to your server hosting provider who should be able to configure this for you.
