Hi really great theme. I am using V12 – Freelancer and i installed the dummy data. Everything looks great except for the top of the homepage – where it says “I am a designer…” shows up empty, blank and white. All of the other remaining sample data shows up fine on the homepage.

I have a problem with this template I bought last year. In contact form I don’t know which it’s the problem, but I can’t receive the emails.
I have checked Oshin Options / Contact Settings menu and I have ensured there is a correct email address. All seems to be OK.

In the default Contact Form present in the theme, we use the php mail() function and it is likely that your hosting provider has blocked this function. In this case, try configuring the form using contact form 7 plugin to send mails using SMTP.

Hello – I am interested in this theme for a client who has a lot of photos. Does the theme include a plugin for media gallery management, or do you recommend a plugin to install for this purpose. The normal Media Gallery included in Wordpress is not granular enough for my client, who has 200-300 (or more) photos to display at any one time. Thanks!

Thank you for your interest in purchasing the theme. We do have our own Gallery Module which has way more options than the default Wordpress Media Gallery. You can see the theme’s Grid Gallery showcased here – http://oshine.wpengine.com/v17 . As you can see that the Images load only on Scrolling and this is called “Infinite Scroll” loading. This will ensure that, even if you have several images uploaded to the gallery, they get loaded only in batches and thus your page speed will be intact.
Apart from Grid Gallery, we also have Grid Portfolio like this, http://oshine.wpengine.com/portfolio-full-width/ . You can also use Portfolio by splitting your work across several portfolio and each of the Portfolio can have a grid gallery within it. Basically, Portfolio is a collection of Items.
Other forms of Gallery include the Carousel Gallery like in this page – http://oshine.wpengine.com/v2 . In this type of gallery, the images are lazy loaded, i.e. they are loaded only as you scroll and reach the particular position of the Image. This is the most sort after gallery and we have a lot of buyers using this to showcase their work.

Apologies but there ins’t an option in the module to change the opacity of the Header Border and you need to use custom CSS code to adjust the transparency. I see that you have already added the custom css code below in the site -

I love your theme, very glad I bought it! I do have a minor problem though if you could help me with it, using Transparent header and then dark or light scheme doesn’t properly work. The logo also flickers when the page is loading, like someone reported before.

I actually fixed it by going to Oshine Options > Main navigation Menu > Navigation menu font color to #black. But another problem comes up now, when I scroll down in ABOUT page, the menu color changes from Light to Dark on the sticky header. It should just stay Light, do you know why it does change ? Thank you.

The color of the Menu in Sticky Header will be the color that you set for the Menu Items under Oshine Options > Main navigation Menu > Navigation menu. You can set a Lighter Color for the Header BG under Oshine Options > Background so that the Menu Links are visible on Sticky Header.

You can use Top Header Style as “Style4” or “Style5” under OSHINE OPTIONS > TOP HEADER SETTINGS, to get this kind of header style.
Also i see that the site does not have a logo, which you can disable under OSHINE OPTIONS > LOGO .

Thanks, i almost got it done. But is there a way to put some text above images when using portfolio style: horizontal carousel slider? Because it’s ignoring page builder. I was adding my site title as text block and it just doesn’t work.

While using Horizontal Carousel Slider the contents that you add in the Page Builder will show up in the Left Floating Panel. To enable this, you need to enable the “Show Information Box” option form the Metabox Options present.
Unfortunately, there ins’t an option to add Text above the the Carousel in the Page.

In the Slider’s setting in the Master Slider Page , you will find an Option called ’Snapping’ which looks like a switch. Turn this off and then on again, and Save the settings. This should get back the styling aspects.
As long as all the contents have been imported properly, you can ignore the error messages.

Although, we have incorporated Shop feature in the theme and it is powered by Woocommerce Plugin, there isn’t an option to create a Carousel of Products that will link viewer to Shop Page. Don’t bother too much about the google speed test and its ratings. Kindly check the site using http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/ , it would give a better idea on the loading times. If you see our v2 home page, it loads very quickly for a actual user and we have optimized performance. But still google gives it a poor rating. Google page speed would give a low rating when a number of images are used and but that wouldn’t actually reflect on the user experience. Our users buy the theme based on their experience with a demo, so how quickly it loads is very important for us, the same way it for a customer of our using the theme to showcase their portfolio. So it would make sense to actually evaluate actual user experience based on your target audience rather than some metrics. Our v2 demo has the highest conversion rate but has the lowest google page score. When you test it with pingdom, you will see that it loads in a couple of seconds across most countries.
I can give you some pointers to improve site performance but at the end of the day your server is the limiting factor.
a. Optimize all your image resources, don’t have any images that run into Megabytes and do not use resolutions that are not required for the web. But if your target audience have access to good internet speeds, saving a few kb’s in images becomes immaterial. If you have Photoshop, use the “Save for Web” feature to compress your jpegs. You can also use the iResize app for Mac Osx to batch resize and compress images.
b. Use a caching plugin such as W3C total cache. It will help you cache your pages in the server and will also help you minify css & js resources and will also help you in leveraging browsers cache. I am using this plugin to cache and speed up my demo sites. Kindly setup caching after you have finished developing your site and when you are ready to deploy.
c. Use a VPS or dedicated hosting and not a shared hosting plan which is what you are probably in currently. This will result in significant speed increases by reducing server response & processing time. Choose a server location that will be close to your target audience. If your target audience is global use a CDN such as cloud flare or possibly MAX CDN which works well with W3C Total cache plugin. CDN is NOT required if your target audience is restricted to a particular country / state.

Thank you for your compliment. I am really glad you like our product. Our attitude is simple, If we could something better, why settle for anything less. We strongly believe our upcoming page builder is much superior to VC or any other builder out there and we are pretty sure that once you use our builder you will love it. Competition fosters innovation and change is the only constant. If Chrome and Firefox didn’t think they could builder better browsers, we would still be stuck with IE8. We have developed our new builder to be used as a separate plugin, that will not be restricted to our themes. Modules specific to Oshine are also packed into a separate plugin, which means you will not lose your content unlike other builders ( our old one too ) that are closely tied to the theme. Our page builder is a live front end builder, that is fast and fluid, unlike VC which is very slow in our opinion. I would kindly request you to wait for a video teaser later this week and then make your decision. We are running beta trials currently and I can give you a trial access to the new builder early next week. If all goes well, we will be launching the new builder ( named TATSU ) by the end of the first week of November.

I think VC has massively exploded in the past 24 months and so many plugins have since been developed to work with it. For us as an agency, it is safest to stick with the most popular solution, but I am still always interested in new options!

Hello, i have a presales question for this wonderfull theme you have : on the product page (if we have a shop) if you have multiple images of a product and while on a device like ipad, is there an indication that there are more product images for example thumbnails or navigation that shows clearly there are more images in that specific product ? i assume that you have already done this for desktop version but its important for my client to show in some way while on tablet that there are more images on a product thanks!

As per the design in the theme, when you add multiple images to a product i.e in the Product Gallery option, the Main Shop grid will show up the featured product image and the Gallery images will appear beneath the Main Image in the Single Product Page. I had a problem and figured it out, so here it is for posterity: I was encountering the error where you try to save the theme options and you get “There was a problem with your action. Please try again or reload the page.”
In my situation, the issue was with Apache’s mod_security. It was blocking the request as a possible “SQL Injection” attack.
This is a little technical but it’ll help you get it fixed. You need to ask your host to whitelist your user/domain for that particular security rule (which is rule id 300015). Ideally make the exception as narrow as possible (specific rule, domain, and file if possible.)
Hi, I would like to know how to have in my portfolio a Lightbox link and a Single Page Link when I hover the picture of the portfolio. As far as I can see you can have one of them but not both. How can I make it happen? Thanks

Hi! the sidebar on the single blog post page shows up on the right side although i set it in the options as left sidebar. on the blog page itself it shows up correctly, only on the single page its on the right side. don’t know where to change this?

Hi there, this is a prepurchase question: I just read that you said in other reply that “Linking each image is not an option when you have them as Gallery (like in V2 demo)”. Still, I can see in your demo v24 that when images are clicked and show up on a Lightbox, the lightbox gives you a sharing option (and I guess it shares that single adress poiting to that single photo). Isn’t that a Gallery? Anyways, my main question was about that lightbox in v24 which I absolutelly love. But I’d like a full screen slider as home, and use that lightbox only for my galleries. Would that be possible? Could I use that kind of gallery? Or even better, could I use that lightbox with other galleries or portfolios? This would be something extremely important to me. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your interest in purchasing the theme. The main difference is that in the V2 Demo Home Page, we have used a Carousel Gallery – oshine.wpengine.com/v2 and the Gallery used in V24 Home Page is a Grid Gallery – oshine.wpengine.com/v24 . While you have option to open the images added in a “Grid Gallery” in lightbox, the images when added as “Carousel Gallery” cannot be opened in Lightbox.
Apart from Grid Gallery, you have Lightbox option in Portfolio grid as well.
And yes, you can set the Home Page to have Full Screen Slider, and set up one of the internal pages as a “grid gallery” which will open the Images in Lightbox.

Thanks a lot for your complete answer! So, if you don’t mind, I’ll tell you exactly what I expect to do, and you tell me if that is possible. I would want a home page & menu like that on v22. That theme only shows portfolios, but I’d rather work with galleries instead that show thumbnails respecting vertical or horizontal, like the one shown on the homepage of v24 (masonry grid gallery?), that open on a Lightbox which also allows to share them individually in social networks. My idea about that full screen homepage is to show there only about 5-6 photos with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Also would like to know if it’s somehow possible to change the behaviour of the images shown fullscreen from “fill” to “fit”, pretty much like in the lightbox. so you never loose the original framing. I see that this is a common issue in photography themes that many designers don’t seem to get that usually photographers don’t like our photos cropped in any ways

1. If you are looking to have the images in the Main Portfolio Page displayed in their original aspect ratio (fit) then you can have the Portfolio Displayed in a carousel like http://oshine.wpengine.com/v22/portfolio/ which is most sought after style by our buyers (who are photographers) primarily because, the aspect ratio is preserved, and the images will not be cropped. Both Landscape and Portrait images will look good in this style of slider.
2. Yes you can have a Carousel portfolio, and in turn have the portfolio item, open up gallery of images. An example would be the “WILDLIFE” portfolio item in the link above. Click on wildlife, and you will be able to see a Grid of images (http://oshine.wpengine.com/v22/portfolio/wildlife/) . You can also have a grid like in V24 in this page which is called the Justified Gallery Grid.

Thanks a lot for your reply, I found it very usefull.
1.My question was more about the home or landing page showing fullscreen pictures in the back but with the fit feature, so where there’s no photo to fill the full screen, black color would show. I havent’s seen this happen in almost any theme, so I suspected it wouldn’t be possible, not a big issue anyways. I’ll try to use pictures that have an aspect ratio similar to most horizontal 16:9 screens.
2. I like how the wildlife portfolio item looks , very elegant, I think it could be a great idea using one of those for each of my galleries, but not sure if that view respects the original aspect of pictures, or only works for horizontal pictures, since all the pictures shown in the wildlife portfolio item happen to be horizontal. Could I mix vertical and horizontal pictures there? Would they show not cropped in that portfolio item?
By the way, I just purchased your team, excited about putting it to work!

If you have a mix of vertical and horizontal images in the Grid gallery, you can enabled the MASONRY option in the gallery module, which will pull the images in their natural height. Alternatively you can use the JUSTIFIED GALLERY module.
