If you are using Lightbox Type as Magnific Pop up, the caption to the Image should be added as the Title of the Image , by editing the Image in Media Library.

If you are using Lightbox Type as Photoswipe, the caption to the Image should be added as the Description of the Image , by editing the Image in Media Library.

I like that much better, it would also be nice to combine that with some JS to only have that CSS occur when the user is at the very top (where the slider is) and then have everything go back to normal once they’ve scrolled out of the top section.

Unfortunately, that is not possible with straight forward custom coding and we need to modify the core theme files. We will look into adding this in our future updates.

Yes you create Carousel Slider like in the sample mentioned. We have options to create a Carousel Gallery as well as a Carousel Portfolio Slider. A few samples from our demo below -

The Sample Slider is included along with the theme package. You can find the Slider in the folder path – Sample Content > Slider Content > Master Slider > v20.json . The instruction to import the Slider can be found in the article here http://www.brandexponents.com/oshine-knowledgebase/knowledge-base/import-demo-content/#masterslider . Once you have the Sample Slider imported, it should be easier for you to replicate it by changing the links to the videos.

The Number of Items per Page option in the Portfolio Carousel Module indicates the total number of Items to be pulled in the Module and not actually the number of items to be displayed in the Slider at once. The number of Columns in the Slider is fixed to be 5 as minimum.

The String is hard coded in the Theme and they have also been localized with the text domain ‘be-themes’ and are ready for translation. Instructions to translate the text strings is available in our documentation here in this link:

You can translate them using the POEDIT software or Codestyle localization plugin.

The last section in this page, i.e the one below the section that speaks about “the artist” is empty and has just an Extra Spacing Module with height set to 315px. This is black in color and I assume you are asking about this section. To get rid of this, you can either delete the entire section, or just the “extra spacing” module within it.

I’m referring to the white space between that section and the footer. When I hide the footer, there is still an extra white space I can not get rid of.

There seems to an empty ‘paragraph’ tag that is added around the content which is not added in the theme. Do you have any 3rd party plugins that you activated lately? Or I think my problem might be solved by just simply adjusting the thumbnails by POSITIONING the photographs always to TOP – since I want to see Faces in my photographs and they are usually also in the upper part of photographs.

One fundamental thing, that cannot be altered is, by default the Images will be “center cropped” by wordpress to the defined dimensions. It is not possible to change this. However we can work around this concept using the options in the theme to suit the kind of images your are having in your site.

About a work around for the cropping, i can suggest 2 options -

1. To change the aspect ratio of the Portfolio Images: the default ratio is 1.6 , and you can choose a different ratio to suit your images. Say in most of your images are square in shape, you can set this to 1. The option is available in the options panel under OSHINE OPTIONS > PORTFOLIO SETTINGS. Note that – once you change the ratio, the thumbnails should be regenerated using the “Regenerate Thumbnails” plugin for the new aspect ratio to take effect.

(OR)

2. You can enable the Masonry option in the Portfolio grid. Enabling this will retain the height of the image and hence you will be able to see it in whole. This option can be found in the Portfolio Module option.
