i dont like tatsu at all. why do you make this change? BE page builder was my favorite builder. Now we have to work in a sidebar. I make big and complicate sites with your theme. But after this update i dont think i can use oshine theme.
I’m disappointed.
i dont like frontend builders. because when you design a complicate site and different plugins and shortcodes frontend builders always messed up!! I dont need to wait for page previews. BE Page builder was a lot of quicker. Sorry guys.. I hate to say it but you are going to lost me. (I had 12 licences with another accounts for my customers.)
Dear brandexponents team, dont you have anything to say? I think i give you a solid feedback. You have 12500 customer. I think you should do a survey about this update. I think you need to improve be page builder instead of migrate to tatsu.
We thank you for being a loyal customer. It is unfortunate that you don’t like the theme update, but prejudices cannot come in the way of innovation and change is the only constant and we believe the front end builder is the way forward. Everything you used to the old page builder is possible with the new one and in more easier way. Every single option from the old builder is now, available with more intuitive controls and instant output. Given that 80% of our customers are new to wordpress or have very limited web experience, it was imperative for us to make our products easier to use. The update takes a all new approach to the way you build web pages, and is completely dfferent to the old builder that you are used to. But you need to take the time to get used to it. The other front end builders you have seen do ajax requests for every single change and are very slow. However we have built components for a majority of our 50+ modules and therefore is extremely fast. We have tried the builder with a majorty of a plugins like WPML, SEO by YOAST, Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms etc and its been working fine. This is just our first release and as soon as we were reported an incompatibility with NextGen, we fixed and released an update. We have a full fledged API so if you now want to build custom modules using PHP and integrate it with the builder, now you can. We are now saving the content in the default content editor of wordpress unlike the old builder which used to save content in a meta. We are coming up with things like, keyboard shortcuts for various actions like save, copy , paste etc, responsive controls, in built templates, also presets for the various modules. If you have constructive feedback to share then please email us at help@brandexponents.com and we can use your experience to make our product better, but we are not willing to debate our decision. Prejudices don’t help help in taking things forward.

Hey! Seems to be more user friendly with the recent update, thank you! Just one question. The Portfolio Categories have vanished from my front page. I have followed the updated walk-through and have been trying to get them back up for a couple hours. I see someone else is having the same issue in here aswell. Hopefully there is a solution to getting it back up.
Scratch that, found the “Filterable Portfolio” tab. Issue is now, it will not save. “Unable to save!” error is now showing up.

Upon inspecting sites recently we found that the save issue occurred because of three reasons and neither were because of our plugin.
1. Firstly it was found that some of the users were using an older version of PHP and this was causing a problem. We issued a patch in 1.0.1 is resolve this. If you are updating to the new version of Tatsu from 1.0 then kindly clear your browser cache and try again.
2. The firewall of a security plugin named WORDFENCE is blocking the Ajax requests, which is known to generate false positives. This can be resolved by setting its firewall in LEARNING MODE. This way it will automatically learn and whitelist Tatsu’s request. You can also manually whitelist our requests.
3. If you are hosted with WP ENGINE and The issue is a problem with wpengine’s caching system. Caching disrupts Nonce, a security feature that is used while processing ajax requests. This was confirmed by their tech support. They have advised the use of staging area, where caching is turned off by default and you would be able to save your changes there. Once you finish your site / changes in the Staging area, you can move it back to your live site. You can also turn off caching in your live site until you are ready to deploy.
If neither of these solutions help in your case, please share your wordpress admin url, ID and password and we will investigate at the earliest.

Hey Swami, I backed up my site and reinstalled the update and my categories are now showing up 
. But when I go to edit my front page it still saying “Unable to Save” I have no other issues saving on my portfolio pages in Tatsu only have a issue with the front page not saving. I have went into my plugins and updated tatsu, i have also turned on and off plugins to see if there is any interference and its not the case. I have cleared my cache on my browser and on word press. its not a sever issue if tatsu is able to save on my other pages.
Can you please supple me with the email if you want to investigate this matter.

Dear BrandExponents I have update shine to version 5.01 and Tatsu to version 1.02. Initially I can set up a page with Tatsu. But after closing a Tatsu generated page and then edit the same page again with Tatsu gives an UnableToSave! error. How can opening and closing a page with Tatsu generate an error?!
PS caches are off, and the Tatsu preview works fine.

Hi, Oshine is hands down the best! Just wondering if it’s possible to display a gallery of images based on the images category or tag. Say display a gallery with all images that have a category call “landscapes” for instance. Just wondering if there is a way for galleries to be generated for display without having to manually add the images in through the tatsu. I understand if it’s not possible, just wondering if i may be overlooking that this is an actual possibility. Say upload a bunch of images to the media bin that have a specific keyword or category assigned to the image, and then have a gallery page that automatically displays images that have a specific category or tag assigned to them. I’m a photographer who is frequently rebuilding my galleries based on updated work and this would be a huge timesaver if i could figure this out Thanks!

I am really glad you like the theme. Unfortunately wordpress does not have an option for categorizing and tagging images in the media library. We are planning to enhance the media library with these features so that we can even provide filters for galleries. The feature is in our pipeline and you can expect it in one of our future updates. By the way, I am assuming you are not add each image into a text block via Tatsu, but rather using the Gallery Module or one of the Carousel / Sliders options using the Gallery Page template.

Great thank you. Yes i’m adding the images in via tatsu. I’m a photographer and use wp/lr plugin to upload my photos from lightroom to wordpress. from there, i manually add the image to the gallery with the tatsu gallery shortcode. It’s great, just one more easy step would be to have the tatsu galleries somehow load or display images in a gallery via keyword or some other automatic way so that the gallery can be updated without it being a manual process. that would be a very helpful timesaver. maybe will have someone custom build that out for me. It says it can remotely load images from flickr but not auto syncing individual flickr albums to oshine galleries. Could be very useful when building sites to tell he client they only need to update each flickr gallery for the oshine site gallery to be automatically updated. btw i bought oshine because you guys were the only ones using the photoswipe plugin which i think is the best photo display platform. thanks!!

Thanks for the comprehensive feedback. We will definitely take this into consideration for our updates. We don’t want sync with 3rd party services like Flickr or Instagram, because they keep changing their API’s and introduce a lot of restrictions. For example, Instagram changed their API last year, which affected all the websites using their API and has introduced restrictions on number of images being fetched and number of queries that can be made to their API. Not so reliable.

Hi what is the code, or how do I remove the Blog post title on the post page as well as the comment and date
Also please help with changing the hover colour on blog post title’s. The title goes to white and disappears when the mouse hovers. I have it set to black in navigation link hover colour and over riding the set navigation link colour. If I change it to default it will give me the option of having a link colour however there is a colour overlay over all the featured blog post images on the page. http://www.ninakphotography.com/latestwork/. The link you provided seems to be using a different theme. I am unable to inspect the issue. The overlay appearing over all blog thumbnails was a simple css issue after the last theme update and it can fixed using the following css. I guess this will resolve the blog link color issue as well as you no longer have to set the color scheme to transparent.

Hi, I’m using Oshine child… I have just updated Slider revolution and the padding has increased under my image, can you please tell me how I reduce this again. Hello there, recently purchased the theme for my friend and got it all setup. However, it has a few major issues and some minor ones that I’d like implemented at least in my project.
When adding new photo into gallery using Tatsu, it always add new image as very last item instead of very first one. That’s the feature that I’d like to request or at least if you can help me out to add it in my project.
Bug reports: - Using Photo Swipe in gallery, when opening image larger than 1MB on mobile devices (chrome browser) it crashes the browser and shows “Aw, snap!” error.
- Using MagnificPopup as lightbox style it works better, but magnific popup does not work when ajax load new images on scroll. It just open image as url redirect.

Thanks for purchasing our theme. Unfortunately we do not have an option yet to reverse the order in which the images are loaded in the gallery. We will try to provide an option or a filter to change this programatically in one of our updates. HI, I just updated to the new version and my site is all messed up. Everything was full width and now it isn’t. There are now breadcrumbs and I don’t know how to remove. Pages with gallery are left aligned and aren’t loading more projects… Please advise.

Hello, I’ve just went live with my site and have run into a problem. When linking to my site within Chrome and Firefox, certain plugins are not loading on initial load causing the site to look differently then what it is suppose to. The icons within the theme do not display properly and the plug-in Use Any Font does not display properly. Once I navigate to a different page everything then displays fine. Also, if I type the web address into my browser everything loads just fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Please go to APPEARANCES -> INSTALL PLUGINS and from there you should be able to install the new plugins. If you have the child theme activated, please activate the main, install the plugins and then activate the child theme again. Subsequently follow the instructions in this article http://www.brandexponents.com/oshine-knowledgebase/knowledge-base/migrating-to-oshine-5-0/ to convert your posts from the old page builder to the new one. You should then deactivate the BE Page Builder plugin. That should resolve all your issues.

new_tab = 1 should work. Please try without the double quotes and if it still doesn’t work, I would have to inspect your backend if to see if the shortcode has been added correctly.

Hello. I followed transition instructions. Site is up and running with TATSU, except that the TATSU editor is not working in the portfolio posts. In existing posts, in edit mode, I can click, for example, on the text, but it is not letting me dive deep enough to edit it. The same with image sliders… I can’t edit them. Also, in the portfolio posts (only here) I can’t select templates or edit any content. Any suggestions?

The slider images would still have to be edited from the backend like it used to be with the old page builder. Slider is a feature of the theme and the Page Builder handles the content alone, which is why the text can be edited by the builder and not the images. With regard to the text being uneditable, this should not be the case and we can investigate the issue if you share your wordpress admin access to help@brandexponents.com. In case of slider portfolios, it is easier to edit content if switch the page builder to Tablet mode.

I checked your page the portfolio images were loading fine. However I noticed that you have already updated to theme version 5.0, in which case you need to follow the steps mentioned in this article to transition to the new builder. http://www.brandexponents.com/oshine-knowledgebase/knowledge-base/migrating-to-oshine-5-0/ . I noticed that you have already installed the Tatsu plugin. So incase you have already run the BE To Tatsu converter, then you need to deactivate the BE Page Builder plugin, in order for tatsu to take effect. This will ensure you don’t have any issues in your site, like the added Title and bread crumbs showing up.

Thank you! I figured out the problem later, I wasn’t setting the featured image for the portfolio pages… But thank you! I’ll disable the BE Page Builder now… I guess I have to get use to TATSU now.
OK, now that I deactivated the Be Page Builder plugin I can’t edit the pages… I enter and it stays loading the animation of Tatsu but doesn’t get to the editing part. I already cleaned my caches… but don’t know if I should do something else.
Never mind! It was a 3rd party plugin. Had to try deactivating one by one.
Hi! I know my support has expired, but since I didn’t have any problems with the previous page builder – I just want to know a couple of things.
1. There’s black bars around the videos (loaded from Vimeo) that was not there before the upgrade and that i can’t get rid of with Tatsu.
2. I get the same color as the theme color I have chosen – every time you hoover over an image. Before I had 25% white overlay and now is dark red all the time and I can’t change it in Tatsu.
3. I dont understand where the last upgrade is and what it contains. It says here that there was an upgrade on the 3rd of january but I can’t see it in upgrades in wp. If you scroll down on Item details here, the last change log is from 1 september 2016. I have Version 1.0.1 of Tatsu and I followed everything as stated and I know you made an effort to make everything easier, and I appreciate that. Its a great theme, hopefully made even better with Tatsu, but these things need to be fixed.

Sorry, I guess I was a few hours ahead.. Everything is great now. The update was there a few minutes ago. Back to normal with the hoover color, and the black bars disappeared with a css-code I saw in another post. GREAT! THANK YOU!
PS: I would like to take away the “Back-to-top”-button on just the Start-page. Could I get a css-code for that please? (I promise to renew the support if I run into things in the future).

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Only that code itself didn’t work, but I tried with !important; at the end and it worked very well! One suggestion for a coming upgrade is to be able to move a text block under a video closer to the video, as some other post pointed out as well. Although the video fills the container now (without any black bars as before), there is too much space under it. But overall I like Tatsu very much and its a great relief that you can see what it looks like all the time (on a phone and iPad etc). Well done!

Google Maps recently changed their API where by a API key is required for accessing maps in all websites. Kindly go to OSHINE OPTIONS -> GLOBAL SITE LAYOUT SETTINGS and enter your Google Maps API key. Follow the instructions here to generate your API Key – https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key/

Could you kindly provide the link to your site so that I can see which menu you are referring to and will guide you accordingly. The main menu in a top header always shows the sub menu upon hover. A click is not required in that case. Only in the case of a left header / mobile menu, a click is required to open the sub menu. So I check your site and see if its feasible.

I think you have 3rd party plugin called Jquery Vertical accordion menu and that is causing this problem none of our other customers have this issue. Kindly disable the 3rd party plugin, clear your browsers cache and try again.

Hello, I have been using Oshin for a while now and unfortunately I am running into an error. I am trying to set up a Single Page – Fixed Left Sidebar portfolio item, but when I try to “add media” next to Portfolio Images under the Portfolio Style heading, nothing happens. No thumbnails appear etc… I wonder, is there an easy fix for this?
