I am really interested in purchasing this theme. As a photographer, though, there is one issue that is very important to me. In elements like Recent Posts, I would like the entire image for both vertical and horizontal photos to show up. I so far haven’t seen anything in the demos that show this is possible. Is that something that can be done with this theme?
Alternately, if I do need/want to go with a square image on the page or to use a photo in the opposite shaped space (a vertical photo in a horizontal space or vice versa) is there a way to choose how the image crops in the theme without having to crop in Photoshop and upload separate images for each usage?
The same issue applies to sliders: having a slider show the full image of photos in various aspect ratios. I’ve seen sliders that do this nicely, I was just wondering about how that works with this theme.

X doesn’t quite give you this much granularity out of the box with what you can control, but we do include some third party Extensions that do give you greater control over recent post output. You can read more about those all here, namely “The Grid” and “Essential Grid” may be of interest to you. As for sliders, you can check out our included sliders there as well to ensure that they have the features you need.

Thank you for your reply. I have another question as well. I would like to do Before/After for some artwork and photo restorations. I didn’t see that as a feature in your theme. I know there’s a plug in available. I was wondering if that is a feature in your theme that I just missed and, if not, if a plugin for that could have a decent expectation of working. I realize you can’t guarantee the compatibility of all third party plugins, but I don’t know enough about all this to have an understanding of the likelihood how well plugins work with various themes.
I’m doing a lot of research trying to find a new theme for my website. My head is starting to spin at this point. This theme is the one I’m strongly leaning towards right now in large part because of the Superfly plugin.

Hello, Nice theme, congrats. I am planning to reconstruct a site using your theme. One issue I am concerned with is that you use Microformat meta data markup here. I wonder if it would be straightforward to turn it off or edit it out and use a JSON-LD for Schema markup?

Thanks for writing in. You could override the templates in a child theme to change the markup. We don’t support JSON-LD out of the box, but you could activate a plugin (like this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-seo-structured-data-schema/) to add that functionality to your site.

Using Integrity 1 Demo. The video slider shown did not load from demo content. I would like mine to look the way the demo shows (including the three tabs that slide upward upon load). I created one in Revolution Slider however despite the setting video is not full screen, is not muted, and does not loop. Please advise. Many thanks!

Where can I find the .psd files?
What version of Visual Composer is included with X, is it an unhacked version of VC or a hacked version that works with X?
Will future releases of X be phasing out VC in favor of Cornerstone?
If I deactivate Cornerstone, will the Theme keep giving the nag about a Require Plugin missing?

The plugin itself (Visual Composer) is unmodified, but X uses their API to make some modifications.
At the moment, we have no plans to phase out Visual Composer, as we want to be able to support any sites created with it moving forward.
Cornerstone is required because X makes use of much of it’s functionality instead of duplicating that in the theme. Here’s one example: instead of including a video player in both, X uses the Cornerstone video player to power the video post format. If you deactivate Cornerstone, there will be a message telling you to activate it. Because of how dependent X is on Cornerstone, we can’t support using X without it.
Is it possible to use the visual composer grid shortcode for portfolio, but still get the correct breadcrumb? The portfolio template you provide is lacking features, therefore i’m using the composer shortcode, but I really need the breadcrumb to reflect the navigation and it doesn’t now, there is just an empty space. Is there a way to select the portfolio template but overwriting it with content from the visual composer?

Thanks for writing in. I’m sorry no, this isn’t possible with the visual composer grid shortcode. If you need a more tailored portfolio, what you could do instead is create multiple pages with Cornerstone instead of using the native portfolio feature.
Why is X still using the older version of LayerSlider?
I’m fully aware of themes not always updating bundled plugins because in some cases they are modified a bit to work with the current theme version.
But it clearly says at X Theme documentation that layerSlider is using: “The version of LayerSlider included with the theme is an unmodified version of the plugin.”
If it is unmodified then why not have the latest version? You are still including version 5.. where their version 6 is so MAJOR they even renamed it to LayerSlider 6! It has security fixes, all new code, major updates!
But those that bought X Theme, while you say the plugin is unmodified.. how hard could it be to include the latest plugin version? The included plugins is actually one of the major reason i bought the theme in the first place.

The latest version of LayerSlider we’re providing is 6.1.6 The X download package is updated with each X release, so what you’re seeing in that extensions folder is the latest version from the time of the last X update.
Have you validated your site? If you validate and install from X Addons > Extensions you will get the latest version we have available. You will also get automatic notifications for new versions.

I’m really interested in buying your theme. However, I have a couple of questions:
- The site I’m using this on already has a Wordpress theme and quite a bit of coding of the various Wordpress file. Would this theme change slot in and maintain the changes made to the files already? I’d like to keep the customisation I’ve already done.
- SEO wise. Will changing the Wordpress theme negatively affect my SEO?

When switching theme only the content of the pages and posts will get moved over. Customizations / the looks and feel is something you will need to recreate. That’s the nature of any theme as you change the template code and formatting of how the content is rendered.
From a SEO point of view switching theme has no impact.

Hi guys, sorry but I can’t understand how i validate Visual Composer and Cornerstone: I’ve installed the theme in wordpress, entered my license key but cannot use VC and Cornerstone. When I enter my X’s purchase code, the message is: it doesn’t appear to be an Cornerstone purchase code or Themeco license. Please double check the code and try again.

You do not validate Visual Composer and your X validation takes care of Cornerstone. We provide support and updates for Visual Composer as they are made available from the developer so you don’t need to purchase directly from them unless you want direct support.

Hello! I almost pulled the trigger on my purchase back when it went on sale for $45. It seems like development had stalled and there was no progress to v.5. I’m sure that isn’t the case, and I’m sorry I didn’t get it then, but I was wondering if a release date for 5 has been nailed down?
Also, as for the plugins I see… are those all from Theme.co as well? It seems like the bundled plugins with other themes have become something just shy of an advertisement for “pro” versions, as the features of many of them must be purchased separately, and I find that to be quite frustrating.

Quite the contrary, we are sharing progress reports on Facebook as we near the finish line. There is a lot of info there if you’d like to review.
With regards to our Extensions, I’d say about half of them are developed by us with the other half being 3rd party tools (some being exclusive partnerships that you can only get with X). Some of the 3rd party tools have bonus features you can get if you buy directly but those are not required to use the product and we continue to provide updates to those tools as they are made available plus provide support.

Yes, X is fully localized. It also includes RTL styling which will automatically be enabled when WordPress is set to Arabic. We don’t include any translation files with the theme, but .pot files are included so you could translate any strings you need to.
How to paste vk social link to the head of site?

We don’t have this included as one of the social networks that can be enabled. However, you could use some custom CSS to restyle the icon of one of the existing networks. It’s also possible to extend the theme using a child theme to add that network. If you just need that link, you could add it in the topbar content area. If you need more in depth help on the subject, feel free to reach out on the support forums. One of our developers can take a look at your site and advise a solution.
Hello, I’m interested in using this for a site. A site that is similar to what I intend to use my site for uses this, and it sounds great! However, I need to know the best way to support an RSS feed on the main page. I read through all the included extensions and don’t see anything specific for this. The site I found this theme on also has a main page RSS feed, so I know it’s possible. Any assistance would be great!

Thanks for writing in. RSS feeds are something that WordPress has great support for built in. You can learn more about that here: https://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Feeds For the most part, you can add /feed to any blog index URL (main page, category etc.)
We don’t add any additional functionality to extend the WordPress feeds.

While you can use Visual Composer and Cornerstone together on a site, you can’t use both at the same time on an individual page. Once you pick a path (VC or Cornerstone) for a particular page you will need to stick with that.

Hi, I really like your theme and I am close to buy it. What interests me in a theme, and where many themes fall short, are self-hosted video options. I can see you’ve got an in-build player for self-hosted videos, and here is my question. I like the video you have on the main demo page, which starts with black letters VIP. I like that you can control the volume and resolution of the video, I like this player setup. This is a self-hosted video, I assume? Does not look like Youtube or Vimeo.
On the other hand, you have another video player, which is for self-hosted videos, the one in your blog post Affiliate Marketing 101. This one does not have those nice controls.
So my question is: can I have self-hosted videos on my website and display them using this nice player with the volume and resolution controls?

Yes, X includes a self hosted video player. It’s powered by the native WordPress media player, but we add some custom styling. You can see examples of it here: http://demo.theme.co/integrity-1/shortcodes/responsive-video/
The VIP video you mention is actually powered by Vimeo. With a paid plan you can remove the Vimeo branding.

As for compatibility, it’s not something we can guarantee or promise a refund for, but in our experience X works great with anything coded to WordPress best practices.
