You only ever need to make use of a child theme, if you want to modify and customize the parent Avada theme. This then prevents you losing the customizations whenever you update the parent theme.

Hi, I have the latest Avada, Wordpress, plugins, etc. Just applied the latest patches and now my websites Fusion elements will not work. I went to the Avada theme options and reset the Fusion Caches, but this did not work. Tested on FF, Chrome, and Safari.
Help please?
I enabled the “Enable JS Compiler” and that seemed to do the trick. Will this do anything negative to the site in your expert opinion? Thanks ahead as well!

Hi Folks, great theme as always but having an issue with woocommerce. I have set a few products up and created a category for each one. However if I now create a new product I go to select the pre-defined category and under categories in right side of cpanel I see option for “Most Used categories or all catigories” when i check this I see no categories are displayed! I then check Woocommerce – categories and see that NO categories can be found yet in the top right corner it shows 5 items. Yet no categories displaying. When I look at the website shop front end I can see displayed categories in the menu. I then check products to see if categories are assigned yet they show nothing. It seems you mat have a bug. Can you help please?

Hi, yes I’m using woocommerce, it is working fine. I just need to create a page only for discounted products (on sales products).... I added a woocommerce plugin iWooCommerce Onsale Page, it looks to work but i don’t understand why in default the page use the revolution slider on top of the page… I didn’t place that slider there. pls check here. http://www.nitidianetwork.com/promozioni/

That is an archive page and the various Theme Options are utilised to manage the page layout. One option is to use a standard page template, the in-page Fusion Options to enable/disable things like the slider etc and then deploy a Woo shortcode to display your products

That will require you to use a custom search plugin, you can not include auto complete ajax based search on the default search of Avada, there are many plugins available out there that you can try from.

Hello, I’ve bought the theme and it looks great! One thing I’m not sure though, I am trying the Theme on a subdomain of my main one, and I’m wondering how does licensing works. If I license the theme while I’m using it in Wordpress in my subdomain, will I be able to export it and apply it to my main domain afterwords?

Regarding your product licensing, you have to purchase/own a license for each publicly accessible domain install of the theme. Regardless of whether the installation domain is a sub domain or not, if it is publicly accessible, it requires a license.
If you are migrating to a different domain and you already have your product registered with your original purchase code etc, you do not need to purchase a new license; You can simply add your registered purchase information to the new installation’s product registration tab.

when importing a demo, does it erase anything of my current website?

This depends on what part of demo are you going to import, with our new partial demo import feature you can actually import partial demos so yes if you import theme options of one demo for example it will replace all the theme options of your current site, however importing posts or pages of 1 demo should not cause any issues, nothing is actually erased but actually overided.

Ok, so I dont have to worry about my products, my plug in info, my shipping settings, my email settings, and all other woocommerce DB data (that doesnt have to do with my previous theme)

The Avada demo importer does allow you to install and then uninstall any demo, however, it is never recommended that you install a demo into a live site. It will simply create confusion for you.
Whenever you install any Avada demo, part of the warning notice displayed on screen prior to clicking OK is this -> https://d.pr/i/lvetdv
Rather install the theme and import your demo/s on a Staging domain, away from your live site. This gives you the time to focus on remodeling your site without affecting the live site. Once you are done and happy, you can then migrate the new site over to the live domain all without skipping a beat

You can also create a subdomain in such case and import the demo here and once done with the styling you can import it back to the live site, however importing a complete demo on a ready (live) site is not recommended since it will change your theme options and many other settings,

We just updated to version 5.4 and have lost our page content from version 3.9.7 – where does avada store page content in the DB ? seems like the conversion process broke it

We use the same tables for pages that is used by any other WordPress site, however i do believe your issue is related to the conversion process not running properly instead of the database as updating theme has nothing to do with your database, it only changes or remove your theme files that does not store any content at all.

We do not have much options to change the look of 404 page right now, you can change the menu assigned to that page by going to Appearance > Menus section, however if you want to change its layout i will suggest using any custom 404 plugin as there are many free plugins available for this right now

Hi there, one of the last three patches (416063, ...70, or …75) has completely srewed up my top menu. wrong type size, no header background and the polylang language selectors don’t show up correctly. Is there a way to unpatch those patches? I have more than one Avada themes running but I need a stable theme for my clients with NO surprises.

The patches are released to fix the issues and not to break the site and they should never break your top menu at all or anything else, our 5.4 version is definitely stable and you should have ZERO issues with it, if you are seeing any issues please do open a support ticket and our team will check it out for you right away.

Well i shouldn’t, but I have. I can’t open a ticket since the support expired. But i don’t see why I should buy extended support when the patches break my site. I usually just wait till I buy another copy of the program, which i don’t intend, if I can not rely on it runnig stable after patching. I did proove that by running a backup version without the patches, it was perfectly fine, as soon as I activated the last three patches, the header was srcewed. So again, here is the question: can I unpatch (delete) a patch? (The backup version has been worked on a lot since the last patches, also, there might me an important patch in the future which I could’t install.

What you can do actually is delete and remove the complete theme folder from inside wp-content / themes folder and install again using the FTP method by downloading the fresh copy of Avada again, you can read about this in details here => http://bit.ly/1R1ik6V

Thank you for the help Ammar. This will be a short term solution. However, that means I can not run any future patches and in the long run I’ll have to change themes with all Avada clients, since the stability of the themes is at risk in the future.

I am afraid that is very far from the truth, our theme is 100% stable and our patches too, this issue you are facing is only related to your setup somehow as we have thousands of customers who are using Avada with patches applied having zero issues, there is something that is causing your site to break and its not our patches or theme at all, only your site is having these issues and it can be due to the 3rd party plugin or some custom code, if you want us to check this out you will have to open a support ticket and i guarantee you that we will apply the patches and latest version without breaking your site unless any 3rd party plugin or custom code is the reason behind it 
My response above in previous comment was to provide you with the method of installing Avada again since you do not want to open a ticket with us, its not because our patches are faulty or anything or else you will be seeing hundreds of comments here for this issue.

Well, thanks for calling me a liar though I have only reported exactly what I have experienced and recreated again, just to be sure. And please, don’t make it look like I don’t want to open a ticket. I don’t want to buy additional support for a problem that is caused by a patch. I have just asked, if I can reverse a patch, a question still unanswered. So I considere this case closed, I will rework the site with an unpatched version of the theme and replace Avada in the longrun.
However, your were right, that the problem is related to a plugin. Avada doesn’t work with polylang anymore. My website relies on that plugin, since it is for an international company.
Update: It’s not polylang, the plugin just makes the mess realy evident. I ran a backup version of the site again, disabled all plugins except fusion builder and -core. With the update, to 5.4, the header goes awry. Evidently it’s the update, not the plugins. The header bar disappears, the allignemt is off. when enabling polylang, the typo changes too. So much for 100% stable.
