Hello, something is happening with the weather plugin. I’ve got the API, then searched for the correct city, despite that I’ve followed the steps, things are not working. Can you please help? Thanks!

Try using the location ID instead. The big number as shown in your screenshot as there could be multiple locations with the same name. It is safer with the location ID.

Hi, does this theme use Aqua Resizer? I use S3 and AWS, and Aqua resizer has problems with placing files on AWS.
Sorry but we have not tested Aqua resizer so i cannot say for sure if it will work properly or not.

Sorry but we cannot recommend any developer. However, you do not need a developer to use the theme features. You can simply create a copy of your install on a sub-domain and try to update the theme there. using this guide: https://forum.tagdiv.com/how-to-update-the-theme-2/
You will nee to re-create your pages if you plan to use the tagdiv composer page builder though.

I downloaded the latest version on 19 Aug 2018 and get Newspaper 9, that’s great. I upgraded via Envato Market and updated the TagDiv and Newsletter plugins in Wordpress.
That said, the featured images disappear from my home page: www.vietpage.co.uk
Could you let me know why this happened and how to fix?

Please add support for automatic ads for AMP and Non-AMP Pages, maybe a field on newspaper settings, this is a great idea. Thanks a lot in advance.

I want to purchase this theme to update a website that currently is using a different theme. But that website’s current theme is using Visual Composer and utilizes some VC components and addons (such as on the About Us page they have some Team addons that make the display look great). I see in your changelog that you recently disposed of VC and now use your own tagdiv composer… I also see that VC and tagdiv are not compatible: https://forum.tagdiv.com/visual-composer-tagdiv-composer-transition/ But I’m unclear the extent of the incompatibility. Can I re-create my Pages and then re-add some of these VC components? Would that work?

You can still use visual composer with our theme but you will not be able to use the cloud library templates as they require the tagdiv composer. You will not be able to use VC elements with the tagdiv composer page builder. Sorry.

Thank you for your response. So I just bought the theme last night. if I decide to only use VC, will you maybe one day make VC inoperable on the theme? I am also worried about Gutenberg and its impact on VC and tagdiv composer….

For the moment we plan to keep both page builder options available, but VC will not receive any more options as we plan to implement more and more features using the tagdiv composer only. This will not break VC though. It will still e around as an alternative

Hello,
1. How I can add the Pinterest social icon in sidebar. There is no option for this particular.
2. In post setting there is option to mention the “via” url and name but it by default place it end of article. We want to add it just below the post title. How we can replace it because we are running a health niche site on this theme we want to mention the Doctor name and expert penal names page (hyperlink) on it making by the renaming it.
Please let us suggest.

1. The social counter plugin can accommodate a Pinterest counter, and there is also a separate Pinterest widget available you can use in the sidebar. The Pinterest block will provide a feed of the board you set for Pinterest, not a single button though.

Mobile theme looks great. However it don´t last activated long. Once it is activated, it works for a while, but then mobile version switches back to old version. It is revived only when it is deactivated and activated again.

When this happens it is usually a plugin conflict that causes the mobile thee to become inactive. You will have to identify the plugin causing the problem and remove/replace it.

It can be increased but only for each post in particular as mentioned above. You cannot change it for all posts at once as it is dynamically handled for each post in particular.

I would love to be able to review this theme again (and again).
TLTR: 6 stars from me. After many years with Newspaper on multiple sites.
The developers have pushed every bit on and on since I committed to the theme a few years back. I must admit that at first I was a bit angry when they introduced their own page builder, but now I see where they are going and I am impressed.
The only drawback of Newspaper seems to me that its success may be its downfall: I see so many fairly well built sites using Newspaper that it is in danger to become boring. But that is not a criticism at all, if anything that is the highest accolade possible.
Incidentally, there is one niche that TagDiv could still explore, that is what Buzzfed is doing. Where the Boombox theme went. I think Newspaper could also offer a more interactive rather than “reporting” solution. More colorful, more Instagram.

Hi. You have wonderful Wordpress theme. But I don’t understand why it has no such features:
1. Infinite scrolling. I think it is ‘must have’ feature for news websites;
2. Full screen images not only for main photo but also for images in content;
3. Manual adding of related posts. Often publishers need choose related posts manually but not only by tags or category.
4. Templates for websites with reviews. Now you have very poor options. It would be cool to have special search and compare page. Today Newspaper useless for people who want to start review website.
5. Custom fields. It would be great if publisher can add some fields to posts and edit them with composer. For example, I have the blog about cars. And I need special fields for specs.
6. Integration of galleries from Google Photos, Flickr, Picasa etc (like Photonic plugin does). It would be very useful for publishers that use a lot of photos.
7. Adding custom icons. Often I need specific icons. But I can not add them to the library.

2. The current theme version allows the use of full screen images, not only for the featured image. The cloud library lets you have full width content.

2. Your cloud with library is great idea. I like it very much. But I don’t see how to change width of different elements of content (text, images). I can only change width of all content. What template for single post has fullscreen image in content? I don’t see.
7. You have a lot of icons but not all that publishers need. For example I have autoblog and can’t find icons for my theme (engine, fuel station, speed etc). Import option could solve the problem.
Anyway you have the best theme for news websites. Good luck.

Hi,
Hide the tags from where exactly? The tags would appear only in the post page, they can be disabled in the theme panel if you don’t want them to appear there.

Hi, we cannot seem to edit the post type – there seems to be a bug. Whenever I click on the post template, it just goes to the top of the page. I will send you a private message for the link of a video.

We could take a look, however I don’t quite understand what you are doing and what is happening. How exactly are you editing a post type?
More details and some examples will be helpful. Does the same happen if you deactivate all plugins except the theme plugins? Did you make any modifications to the theme files? Or maybe in a child theme. Check code entered in the theme panel as well.

Unfortunately the plugin will have to be removed/replaced as we cannot offer any solution for the implementation of untested plugins.
The only tested and recommended plugins to use with our theme are these ones:
WP Super Cache- caching plugin
Contact form 7- used to make contact forms
bbPress- forum plugin
BuddyPress- social network plugin
Font Awesome 4 Menus- icon pack, supported in the theme menus
Jetpack- plugin with lots of features *it may slow down your site
WooCommerce- eCommerce solution
WordPress (Yoast) SEO- SEO plugin
Wp User Avatar- Change users avatars
WPML – multilingual plugin
Anything beyond this list is not tested and I cannot say for sure if it will work or not.
