We’ve tried to update the theme but when we install it the code is visible… Why?
Hi, I just replied to you in the support forum.
Regards
Dumb question. From comments I am having a difficult time deciding things. My WP needs updated to 5.5.1.
At the moment I am using WP 5.2 with U-Design Version 3.4.3 and Child Theme.
I built the site wit WP Bakery Page Builder which was bundled.
I am also implementing Slider Revolution.
On 3 other sites I use, when I updated WP to 5.5.1, things broke so I hesitate to update this site, (different themes on those 3 sites than U-Design)
I recently bought a theme with Elementor and I HATE it
Here is what I would like to know:
#1. Are all the original bundled plugins still bundled and supported with updates for them? EX: WP Bakery
#2 If they are, can I choose WP Bakery instead of Elementor or must I use Elementor?
#3. Should I install the U-Design Update BEFORE or AFTER updating the actual WordPress?
#4 Will my child theme still work or is there any code I should add to the functions.php?
Knowing these things before deciding would be of great assistance in my choice.
Thank you so much. I’ve used and loved this theme for years on my main site.
Hi,
1 ) Yes the originally bundled plugins are still up to date and updated regularly as updates come.
2 ) All the page builder plugins are optional so you don’t have to use any of them if you don’t want to.
3 ) I don’t think it matters with this update, your current version of the theme is relatively recent so probably nothing will break if you update the theme after you update WP.
4 ) This will all depend on what you have added to it, CSS will most likely not have any issues, PHP code added to the functions.php in the child theme could be more problematic if for example you are overwriting there a function that no longer exists in the release of the parent theme or WordPress. But if you don’t have much in your child theme then you will most likely be fine, you can always disable it if you have issues while troubleshooting.

Thank you kind sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar

Do you have demo for this? Than can Store your files, edit, view and share with your team or colleagues. It is practical in keeping medical histories and active files, which it can be used for updating, downloading and storage of radiology images.
Hi, all the theme demos can be found here: http://idesignmywebsite.com/u-design/u-design-theme-demos/
the functionality you’re describing is plugin territory not theme related. A theme should be chosen for the look and feel it provides for your WP site, for any other functionality you should turn to the WordPress plugin directory or if you find some other third party plugins online.

Hi, was this theme built using WPBakery Page Builder?
Hi, not the theme but some of the demos used WPBakery for the page layout. WPBakery Page Builder as well as the other supported page builder Elementor are optional.
Regards
I see. We installed one of the themes (the main theme I believe) that does not use WPBakery.
This is quite disappointing as the 2 main selling points you use in your sales copy are:
1) The theme uses WPBakery. This clearly implies that the theme was built using this page builder rather than coded in html/css, or with Gutenberg blocks.
And 2) That no code is required to edit your themes. This is categorically untrue since #1 is not true.
It feels terribly misleading to say the least. At a minimum, you should be explicit not only about the fact that some page layouts on some themes are in fact “coded” and therefore the page designs would have to be rebuilt using WPBaker (or Elementor) in order to rectify tuis situation, and further, you should identify which ones those are.
This seems a reasonable expectation.
Not everyone likes WPBakery to be honest, I have some users that hate it, so it’s wise not to rely solely on one page builder. If you’re not happy with your purchase and purchased it within the last 30 days I’ll give you a refund, just submit a refund with ThemeForest.
Regards
Yes of course, WPBakery is not for everyone. My point however is that your sales copy is misleading (I assume unintentionally) because it explicitly states that all your Udesign designs are built using WPBakery. Moreover, your sales copy explicitly states that no coding knowledge is required to modify any Udesign design.
By your own admission, both statements are obviously not true, that’s the point.
In any event, a refund is not required. I’ve taken other steps to cope with this matter.
Sorry, can you show me where it states that all U-Design designs are built with WPBakery as I can’t find it as you’re correct this will not be a correct statement and it’s possible we made a typo. When you go to the theme’s demos page and hover over a demo it clearly states what was used to build each demo. Here, check it out, go to this page, scroll down the fold and hover over the demos to see what they are built with, this has been like that since day one: http://idesignmywebsite.com/u-design/u-design-theme-demos/
As for the no coding, I disagree as you can use the theme with WordPress without knowledge of HTML and CSS, just don’t do fancy stuff. You can design a site strictly by using “Visual” mode or Gutenberg now and maybe (optional) the theme’s shortcodes which is a WordPress theme this is not invented by a theme.

Where do you add the Google Analytics code? Used to be under theme’s Settings page with a whole section there about that called “Statistics”. It’s no longer there?
Hi, I had an announcement for this for over a year in the support forum, please refer to: https://dreamthemedesign.com/u-design-support/discussion/32792/statistics-section-will-be-removed-from-the-theme-heres-how-to-add-google-analytics-or-other-code

The Essential Grid settings for the grids in the Yoga demos are preventing the display of all grid items in mobile view.
For example, on the Team page there are 6 people, but only 3 are displayed in mobile view.
For each grid, under Grid Settings-Pagination, the Max Rows Mobile setting needs to be enabled.
Then the Max Visible Rows Mobile number needs to be set to equal the number of items in the grid.
Thanks for letting me know of this @johpg. Cheers!
I just tested out your solution but didn’t work for me, what worked is actually setting the “Max Visible Rows” to the max number of items.

Pre-sales questions. There are 2 versions of the YOGA demo:
https://udesigntheme.com/demos/yoga-el/ http://udesigntheme.com/demos/yoga/If I buy theme and import the yoga demo, which version will be imported? The Elementor version or the non-Elementor version?
Does the Elementor demo version require the free or paid version of the plugin?
Hi,
you can import either one, I’ve made sure you get both.
Regards
The Elementor demo is built with the Free version.
Thanks for the quick reply. What can be used to edit the NON-Elementor version of the yoga demo? WPBakery? or Gutenberg?
The non-elementor version was built with the theme’s core features (no page builder) as well as the Essential Grid plugin for all 2-3 grids that you see throughout the site.

MacOS Catalina version 10.15.6 (latest)
I just tested it on an iPad and all working fine then on a MacBook Pro with Catalina 10.15.5 and all working fine as well. I had to reboot the mac though for another reason, so I’m not sure, I cannot reproduce this issue.
Oh, @AndonDesign, I’m so sorry for troubling you with this. I checked my browser add-ons and found that the problem was caused by my antivirus software (Bitdefender) which has installed an anti-tracker on all my browsers. Once I turned off the anti-tracker, I can now see the demos.
Once again profuse apologies for assuming the problem was with your demo site! All working perfectly now. Thank you for your kind efforts.
No worries, glad you found the cause!
Cheers!
Andon
Hi
I can view the site fine. It’s just when I scroll down a bit to the section titled “OTHER DEMOS”, there are no demos displayed, just the spinning icon.
what OS are you on?
Hi @AndonDesign
I can’t seem to view your available demo sites. For example, on this page http://idesignmywebsite.com/u-design/u-design-theme-demos/, under DEMOS, the spinner just keeps spinning. I’ve tried 3 different browsers, but still the same problem.
Can you point me somewhere to view your available demo sites?
Thanks and regards
Hi,
maybe the server was down for some reason, thanks for letting me know. I can view the site fine now, what about you?

Hi!
I’m not sure if I’m being stupid or not – apologies if I am!
I’m trying to make the main menu background on my homepage a specific shade of blue (the other pages are fine – this only seems to affect the homepage), but it seems that the default is a dark red/ burgundy?
When I put in the colour code for the desired shade of blue into the “Custom Colours” of the UDesign settings section, it colours a small rectangle around the menu items the correct colour. However, the rest of the top section background (approx 90% of the space) is a completely different shade of blue.
I’ve also tried changing the background colour of that section on the page settings but it seems to have the same effect.
Apologies again if I’m being stupid! Are you able to point me in a direction to sort this please?
Best regards
Martin

Ciao Andon.

Hello @AndonDesign – Slider Revolution is malfunctioning after the update. The video on my home screen isn’t playing properly and when I go to Slider Revolution it tells me under notifications:
- Slider NOT Registered - Register to Unlock All Features
Also, Revolution Slider does not appear under “Related Plugins”
Hi,
unfortunately I have no control over third party plugins. Specifically Slider Revolution had their UI changed significantly in recent update so you might have to redo your slides and sliders. If you need direct support from the Slider Revolution support team then you can purchase your own license of their plugin and then can submit a support ticket with them directly.
Our support is only limited to the integration with the theme not issues with the slider itself.
Regards
That is not the issue. It worked up until the latest U-Design update. It is a simple slider with only a video background. This isn’t a Slider Revolution issue.
Slider Revolution is supposed to be bundled with UDesign. As I stated, the SLIDER REVOLUTION does not show up under related plugins. Why does it not show up on the list under Related Plugins?
Have you STOPPED integrating slider revolution into your theme? It should not be asking me for a registration key because it is SUPPOSED to come with your theme.
It’s still in the theme. You can always check the changelog, I just updated the theme and the slider plugins last week: https://themeforest.net/item/udesign-responsive-wordpress-theme/253220#item-description__updates-history
The “Related Plugins” page ONLY displays if there are any updates of plugins or plugins that need to be installed. The fact that you don’t see the page means that you have installed all related plugins and they are all up to date, so you’re good on that front.
Regards
Also, keep in mind that Slider Revolution is very buggy, so this could very well be a bug you’re experiencing of some sort, assuming you did everything else right. Just check the Slider Revolution plugin’s changelog, in every single release which are very frequent, they are fixing ton of bugs: https://www.themepunch.com/slider-revolution/changelog/ Looks like they are using their paying customers as beta-testers!
Hello, I’ve been a long time customer and used U-Design for a long time without many problems at all.
However, I’ve hit an issue tonight and wonder if there’s a simple solution to it.
I’ve added a menu item as normal through Appearance. However the new item is showing on all main menus, except for the homepage.
Is there anything that I should check, or any simple reason why this might be happening?
Kindest regards
Martin
Please ignore – It seems to have resolved itself… All happy again
Great, thanks for letting me know.
Cheers!

I have the IUDesign theme. I bought it and made an update on a website created in 2014 that was never updated because the programmer never put the Theme in my name. I finally bought the Theme, because the website had become useless. Along with the purchase I paid for them to do the upgrade work. The web works well and I am happy; but there is a problem, it doesn’t allow me to update PHP beyond version 7, and Wordpress recommends that I have it from version 7.3 onwards. The administrators of the Hosting did what they could, but they determined that the problem is with some aspects of the Theme. So they recommended that I contact the creator of the Theme to fix what is causing problems with PHP. I hope it can be so. I need to resolve this as soon as possible to continue my work plans.
Thank you very much for your attention.
José
Hi José,
if you have the latest version of my theme it should be compatible with PHP 7+.
As a matter of fact I’m running all my demo sites on PHP 7.3+ so there are no issues.
Maybe your theme was not updated properly or something, so check on that.
Also, your hosting provider should have been more specific when pointing out to the theme, did they see a specific error message that was pointing to a theme file, or?

Hello. I’m working with a site (www.teameckenrode.com) for my uncle. It was built awhile ago using your theme and I’ve run into a PHP error with revslider because it needs to be updated. I’m looking at the API Key and original user link but it’s not showing up as an update in the dashboard. Do you have any advice as to what road I should take? Thanks for your help.
And just to expand on this, I was not the person who originally built it so I don’t have access to the purchase. Just trying to help my uncle out in these tough financial times. Anything you can do would be greatly appreciated!
Hi,
You didn’t give me any info on what version of the theme currently you have and Rev. Slider plugin but I’m going to have to guess they are old based on what you said, so yes, definitely it’s a good idea to update both.
Once the theme is purchased, future updates are free with that account, so unfortunately the way ThemeForest.net is setup only the owner of that account can have access to the theme that was originally purchased. Since you’re not in touch with the person that purchased the theme originally, it’s impossible to get updates for that license. In general, it’s best for the person who owns the website (in your case your uncle) to have purchased their own license of the theme, that way they will be independent of anyone maintaining their website for future updates or access to support since a valid license is required to register in the support forum.
