Today I updated to php 8.0. After I got a ‘There Has Been a Critical Error on Your Website’ and I could not use Elementor anymore to edit content. Anyone else with this problem?

Note: after I downgraded to php 7.4, Elementor was working again.

I updated Curly Core, but still get warnings, when I lift php version to 8.0. This is an excerpt of what I get:

Found the issue. Twitter plugin (even though one doesn’t use it) must be installed, otherwise it causes elementor to crash, when you upgrade to php 8.

There are a lot of plugins available and it is not possible to test our theme with all of them. Our main focus is to help with built-in theme functionalities and supported plugins. We cannot give you an exact recommendation as we haven’t tested such plugins with the Curly theme and we cannot guarantee it’s 100% functionality. Thank you for your understanding.

You can ignore these messages as everything should work even if they are showing. To improve resources usage you can also deactivate plugins which you are not using. For example, if you’ve imported WPBakery demo you can deactivate Elementor and vice versa, if you’ve imported Elementor demo you can deactivate WPBakery. This should have positive effect on overall performance of your site.

Please note that block-based widgets added in newer versions of WordPress do require a bit more demanding resources and you can see our recommendations regarding those in this article – Recommended PHP Versions And Resources And How To Set Them.
