How can I remove the currency symbol ₹ from my website and change it to Rs.?
Hello, @krupalisavaani,
The default WooCommerce functionality determines this, and our theme does not affect it. Please refer to and follow the instructions in these articles: https://woocommerce.com/document/change-a-currency-symbol/ OR https://www.cloudways.com/blog/add-custom-currency-symbol-in-woocommerce/

Hi!
After trying to activate the product code, I am getting a error “Sorry, it could not connect to the Porto API server. Please try again later.” Even though I found many topics regarding this issue, I had not found anything that might solve it.
How can I fix this problem? Should I just wait?
UPDATE: Trying again in 5 minutes fixed the issue.
Thanks!
Hello, @antoniceq,
Great to hear that trying again after 5 minutes resolved the issue! Sometimes temporary server connectivity issues can cause such errors. If the problem persists in the future, feel free to reach out to us again for further assistance. Enjoy using Porto!

Hi, I am using the read more tag in the woocommerce products categories because I have big descriptions but I am inserting the tag and nothing happens. I doesn’t work. Can you help me please? Thanks
Hello, @nmoussas,
Regrettably, achieving this isn’t feasible through theme or element configurations. However, you may explore utilizing third-party plugins to attempt this, though it comes with potential risks that you should be aware of.

I have just installed “business-consulting2” for a new site I am working on. The issue I have is the homepage – it is showing a Slider Revolution 7 error. Looking at the homepage, I cannot seem to figure out where this slider is being set as I want to remove it and just keep the Porto Banner there.

Hi, Thanks for the template. A couple of questions:
- How can I hide categories, wishlist, options, in the module linked products (related products). - How can I change the search Icon for just the word “SEARCH”
Thank you very Much!
Hello, @JaviWild,
1. Please go to Porto > Template Builder > Post Type and create the new Post Type. Next, use Porto Studio to import a layout that meets your needs. You can then customize it by removing categories, wishlist options, or any other elements as necessary. Finally, save your changes.
Afterward, navigate to Porto >> Template Builder >> Single Product and proceed to edit it. Select the linked product and apply the layout you created earlier in the Post Type Builder.

Frequent “Database Connection Error” in WooCommerce Backend
I am reaching out to seek assistance with a recurring issue we are facing with our WooCommerce site, which is built using the Porto theme.
Specifically, we are encountering frequent “error establishing a database connection” messages when attempting to edit product descriptions using WPBakery Page Builder in the backend.
Here are the details of the issue:
The database access credentials are correct and have been verified. Our hosting provider has confirmed that the server and database are functioning properly.
The hosting support team has suggested that the issue may be due to an excessive number of simultaneous database connections. Despite ensuring that our server and database configurations are correct, the problem persists, severely impacting our workflow and productivity.
Could you please provide guidance or support to resolve this issue?
Hello, @fasterbit,
Facing frequent “error establishing a database connection” messages in WooCommerce, especially when editing product descriptions with WPBakery Page Builder, can be frustrating and detrimental to your site’s functionality. Here are some steps and considerations to help resolve this issue:
1. Database Connection Issues Diagnosis:
Check Server Resources: Ensure that your server has enough resources (CPU, memory) to handle the load. Sometimes, inadequate resources can lead to connection errors.
Hosting Provider Insights: Since your hosting provider has confirmed that the server and database are functioning properly, focus on the possibility of exceeding simultaneous database connections, which is a common issue with WooCommerce sites.
2. Optimizing Database Connections:
Database Optimization: Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as optimizing tables, removing unnecessary data, and ensuring indexes are properly set. This can help reduce the load on your database server.
Caching: Implement caching mechanisms to reduce the number of database queries. Plugins like WP Super Cache or W3 Total Cache can help in this regard.
Query Optimization: Review any custom queries or plugins that might be causing excessive database queries. Poorly optimized queries can quickly exhaust available database connections.
3. Server and Database Configuration:
PHP Configuration: Adjust PHP settings like max_execution_time, max_input_vars, and memory_limit in your php.ini or .htaccess file to ensure they meet WooCommerce’s recommended requirements.
PHP version 8.2.
Memory Limit 512M or higher.
max_execution_time 1000
memory_limit 512M
max_input_vars 2000
post_max_size 128M
upload_max_filesize 128M
Database Configuration: Work with your hosting provider to ensure that MySQL or MariaDB settings (like max_connections and wait_timeout) are appropriately configured to handle the expected load.
4. Monitoring and Debugging:
Error Logging: Enable WordPress debugging in wp-config.php (define('WP_DEBUG', true); ) to log PHP errors. This can provide insights into any underlying issues causing database connection errors.
Plugin and Theme Compatibility: Ensure that all plugins and themes (Porto) are updated to their latest versions. Incompatibilities or outdated software can lead to unexpected errors and also try once by disabling all the third party plugins on your site and check back the result, if the issue will be resolved, then please activate all the plugins again one by one and check which one is creating the issue on your site, and if the issue still persist then please try switching the theme to some default WooCommerce theme such as (StoreFront) and check back the result.
5. Temporary Solutions:
Restarting Database: Sometimes, temporarily restarting your database server can clear up connection issues. However, this is not a permanent solution and should be done cautiously.6. Consult WooCommerce Support:
Expert Assistance: If the issue persists despite these efforts, consider reaching out to WooCommerce support for specialized assistance. They may have insights into specific issues related to their product.
By systematically addressing these areas, you should be able to mitigate or resolve the “error establishing a database connection” issue in WooCommerce.

Hello, @shubham_B,
Unfortunately, our theme does not include that specific functionality. The WooCommerce plugin also does not provide such a feature by default. Therefore, we recommend exploring third-party plugins that may better meet your needs.

my site is giving a “dangerous site” warning. I need to find out if this is theme related.
Hello, @pillowcenter,
Your website, https://www.luikin.com/, is triggering a dangerous site warning in browsers like Google Chrome. This warning typically indicates that Google’s Safe Browsing system has detected potentially harmful content on the site, such as malware, phishing attempts, or other deceptive practices.
Here’s what you can do to address this issue:
1. Scan Your Website: Use a reputable security tool or service to scan your website thoroughly for malware or any security vulnerabilities. There are many online scanners and security plugins available that can help you with this
2. Check Google Search Console: If you haven’t already, verify ownership of your website in Google Search Console (formerly Google Webmaster Tools). This can provide you with specific information about any security issues Google has detected on your site.
3. Review Recent Changes: Think about any recent changes or updates you made to your website. Sometimes, new plugins, themes, or even user-generated content can introduce security vulnerabilities.
4. Clean Up Your Website: Remove any suspicious files, code injections, or malware that may have been identified during your scan. Ensure that all software (including plugins, themes, CMS like WordPress) is up to date.
5. Request a Review: Once you believe your site is clean and secure, you can request a review through Google Search Console. This process can take some time, but if Google verifies that your site is safe, the warning may be removed.
6. Update Security Measures: Consider implementing additional security measures such as HTTPS encryption (SSL/TLS), strong passwords, two-factor authentication, and regular backups.
7. Monitor Regularly: Stay vigilant and monitor your website regularly for any signs of suspicious activity or warnings from browsers.
If you’re unsure about how to proceed or need more detailed assistance, consulting with a security expert would be advisable. They can help you navigate the specific issues and ensure that your website is secure and free from harmful content.

Greetings! I have a mind-boggling question. I recently wrote an ebook and decided to build a webstore for sales purposes. My go-to strategy was the one-page template shop28, as I don’t have more items to sell at this point it’d be quite silly to build a full-blooded webstore for one item only.
However, I plan to write more books and perhaps engage with P2O (print-to-order) merch as well in the near future. This raises one profound question about your theme and the ready-made templates.
If I copy my current front page (www.iread.fi) as a stand-alone page (www.iread.fi/monetising-blog), does installing a new shop template (I like the shop1-soft look) erase the stand-alone page or its styles? I find the shop28 to be an excellent landing page, and it’d be nice to be able to use the layout with an actual shop. However, I don’t really like the idea of re-doing the entire landing page for my existing book, as the days it’s offline could kill the (presumed) sales.
Hello, @NordGate.
Congratulations on finishing your book!
Regarding your question, achieving your desired outcome is straightforward with the Porto Studio feature. You can import any demo or page at any time to suit your needs. For detailed guidance, please consult our theme documentation here: https://www.portotheme.com/wordpress/porto/documentation/porto-studio/
I hope this information is helpful. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Hi! Thank you for the congratulations, the book was a dream of mine for many years and now that it is done, I still have a hard time wrapping my head around it!
Anyway, I looked into the link you provided. This didn’t really solve my question. I fear that I will need to re-do the entire website on/to/with a new store template and then after the new shop is done, re-do the landing pages via Porto Studio. Am I correct?
Does installing a new template erase the existing pages? I have spent days polishing the pages (not only the landing page, but also the terms page and the like) and while I still have only one landing page making it relatively easy to re-do, it would mean days of (hopefully) unnecessary work.
Also, now that I have your attention, I would like to express my support and gratitude for a nicely built theme. Porto makes it relatively easy to build a professional online store. Thank you for that!

Yes before importing the new demo you have to remove the previous content, but there is a way, you can export your pages or terms from Wp-Dashboard >> Tools >> Export: https://pasteboard.co/aaZjQttUHuAF.png before removing the content from your site, and then remove the content from your site and after that import the new demo content, and then again import those pages from WP-Dashboard >> Tools >> Import.
Note: Please take a complete backup of your site before proceeding to avoid any inconvenience.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m really glad to hear that you’re enjoying the Porto theme and finding it useful for your online store. If you have any questions or need further assistance with anything, feel free to reach out. Your support means a lot to us!
