How can I set up social icons like Twitter/X in the footer to lead to my X account? Every time I put link to my X account or my X user name, the link is like https://www.mysite.com/xusername. How to fix this? I already connected my X account in Social/Apis. I don’t know what to put link to my X account in Footer in X button.

I have a question before I purchase: is it possible to set any of your theme’s front pages to display posts on today’s date in previous years? So if it’s 11th November, the front page displays posts from 11th November in 2023. 2022, 2021, etc?

Thank you for your interest in our theme. While the theme does have quite a few filtering/sorting options for the blocks that display posts, there’s no such option for displaying posts from a specific day, from different years, unfortunately. The only way it could be done would be to manually choose the posts you want to display, by filtering the blocks using post IDs. But that will take time to do, especially if all the blocks in the page have to be changed daily. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Thanks for the fast reply. If I set all posts that are written on 11th November to had a tag of ‘11’ and ‘December’, is there anyway I could use that to check with the correct date? I’m really keen on purchasing your theme, but this is a super important feature I need!

That would work. No need for editing code. Blocks can be filtered by tags, so if the posts have the respective tags, then you can set the blocks to display posts from them. Thank you for been our customer! Yes, you can use article ads (banners and other type of ads like AdSense), those will be display inside the article, (at top, middle and bottom). Now there are 2 type of articles templates that can be used: - standard template (provided by tagDiv Standard Template) – those needs to be set in the theme panel https://i.imgur.com/IANnPWl.png - single post template (provided by tagDiv Cloud Library) – those needs to be set using tagDiv Composer on post content element https://forum.tagdiv.com/article-ads/

Hi, I have a question for the newspaper theme. I have tested one of your demos with an embedded video. On many wordpress themes, when you click on a video using your mobile, it automatically goes full screen (no need to find the full screen button). This makes the user experience much better. However, with your theme , the video plays without going full screen, which is terrible, and would make anyone want to just go directly to youtube to find the video. Do you have any options, or plugin that would make this work properly. And I’m talking about the video theme, where the video is actually the featured image of the post. Thank you for your time.

There isn’t an option for that unfortunately. If someone wants to make the video fullscreen, they could just press the fullscreen icon on the video. Some may not like the video to be forced to fullscreen by default. But we could perhaps add an option for that in the future, I’ll make a note of it. We are very sorry for the inconvenience. The theme has all the necessary features for creating listings https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-12-update-is-live-explore-the-new-features/ Regardless of the type of website, the listing part can be added to it. For creating the post type, the taxonomies, the custom fields, the ACF plugin can be used. Then you will need to build the listing page, with payment plans if you want, so that visitors can subscribe and be able do submit listings based on the plan. It will also need the templates for the post type and taxonomies, which can be built with the composer. Maybe it will require other things depending on how you want it to work. That website uses our Newspaper theme as well. It seems to be custom made, with extra design. So its not a theme demo that can be installed and the website will look the same, it will have to be built to look like that. I face the same issue “paksociety” has. When I try to update the theme, all required plugins disappear, and most of the settings too. Even when I reinstall the plugins, the website is not the same. I tried it many times, even on staging, but had no success. Had to do the revert back on a server. Any ideas how to avoid it? Btw, I update it manually myself and use Shop – Audio theme, and my theme version is 12.6.4, if that helps.

Updating manually (via wordpress or file manager) https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/ presumes to also deactivate/delete/reinstall the theme plugins, or updating them from the theme plugins panel. Not sure how they would disappear, unless you updated using the automatic update method, and there was a problem unfortunately. The automatic update method very rarely fails, but there are factors that can make it fail. We will take a look, maybe checking the logs will help narrow the potential cause of the problem. We will also update the theme manually on the website. Hello dear tagDiv team I wrote that I was thinking of creating a video site. For now, I am thinking of using the video embed method. I still have questions.
1. I placed the video embed form on the front-end submission form. For example, when I enter the youtube embed url, is the information automatically fetched?
2. I think that in the future, users will be able to add their own videos. Can I use this together with the video embed feature? In other words, anyone who wants can use the embed feature or the uploading side of their own videos.
3. Does the theme include a video player for uploaded self-hosted videos? I would be very happy if you could provide information on these issues. My love to your entire team. Thanks

The video embed element is for displaying videos, and unfortunately it requires a video link to be entered directly in it. It doesn’t support fetching the video link from a custom field. We may add this capability for it however. For now it will require using workarounds to be able to fetch video links collected in custom fields, from users, and then displaying them in embedded form. For self hosted videos the theme will embed them in a HTML video tag, like this https://www.w3schools.com/html/html5_video.asp There’s no special player for it.

Hello, for our website www.vicesnob.com we are facing problem of HTML to text ratio even in post pages where text is above 1400 words . As its not recommended by SMErush and other SEO tools to keep HTML more than the text.
So in your theme there is a lot of inline CSS and inline JS, also the CSS and JS files are in huge numbers. There should be some way to output CSS and JS in files instead of posting them into the HTML of page. Kindly recommend a solution for this thanks.

I suggest using an optimization plugin for improving the ratio. A nice free plugin is Autoptimize https://kinsta.com/blog/autoptimize-settings/ It can combine the CSS and the JS into single files, and also minify the HTML. Or if you are looking for a complete, premium caching and optimization solution, the WP Rocket is one of the best. But please note that it may take some tuning, using optimization could cause visual or functionality issues on the website.
