Hello. I recently bought the Newspaper theme, it’s very well made. I’m reaching out about the “Town Talk Pro” demo. On the demo site, it isn’t shown among the paywall demos, yet in the WordPress admin demo importer it’s listed under the paywall category. Does the Town Talk Pro demo include a paywall feature? If yes, how can I enable it? Thanks.

Hello dear Simion i have send new message please check Thanks Regards

Hi,

I have a question regarding author photos in the Newspaper theme.

In post templates, there is an author box with an author avatar/icon. However, in the WordPress user profile, I only see the option to use Gravatar. I don’t see a built-in way in the theme to upload a local author photo.

I don’t really see Gravatar as a practical solution, since most authors do not have a Gravatar account. I’ve tried using several third-party plugins that add custom user avatar/photo fields, but when I upload a photo via these plugins, the image does not appear in the Newspaper author box.

Could you please clarify:

Does Newspaper support local author photos (uploaded directly to WordPress)?

Is there a recommended plugin that is fully compatible with Newspaper for author avatars?

Or does the theme intentionally rely only on Gravatar for author images?

If possible, is there a documented way (filter / hook / setting) to make the theme use a custom user meta field instead of Gravatar?

I’d like to avoid Gravatar and use locally uploaded author photos if possible.

Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Best regards, Aleksey

Hi,

I checked it as well and it seems to work with that plugin. I set the image https://prnt.sc/a8p5Mv1GsxR3 and it is displayed on the website as the avatar https://prnt.sc/EksbRZTCG2Rb In your video I see that the image doesn’t set for some reason. We can take a look at it and try to find out why this happens, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide a link to the website and admin login, we will check as soon as possible.

I have registered you on the website https://dev.maxitolog.ru / You should receive an email with access

I found the email.

From what I see there is a mixed content issue https://prnt.sc/K1gAIUb8GEMd So the browser is blocking the image from loading, because it’s with http. As a quick fix, as I see there are other mixed content issue as well, you could use a mixed content fixer plugin https://wordpress.org/plugins/ssl-insecure-content-fixer/ Or change the website URLs to https https://prnt.sc/w97bT-Hq7bPI

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Could you please clarify the recommended way to use a child theme with the Newspaper theme?

Does Newspaper provide an official ready-made child theme, or

should a child theme be created manually following the standard WordPress approach?

If a manual setup is required, is there any official documentation or best practices specific to Newspaper (for example, which files are safe to override, and where to place custom PHP logic)?

Thank you in advance for the clarification.

Best regards, Aleksey

Hi Aleksey,

Our theme includes a child theme, which is provided as part of the theme package and can be downloaded from your ThemeForest account.

Please note that the child theme is intended for standard templates only. If you are using cloud templates, the files associated with those templates cannot be overridden or managed through the child theme.

For more details, please refer to our guide here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/the-child-theme-support-tutorial/

Hi tagDiv team, hope you’re doing well.

I’d like to report a behavior related to the Main Menu and Sticky Header in the Newspaper theme.

In Cloud Templates → Single Template → Main Menu, I have enabled “Drop menu items in More”, and it works correctly on the initial page load.

However, on single post pages, when scrolling down and the sticky header becomes active, all menu items are displayed again instead of being dropped into the “More” menu, even though the option is already enabled.

To better illustrate the issue, here is a screenshot showing the behavior when the sticky header appears: https://www.awesomescreenshot.com/image/58151367?key=14f135d3a96896fb827397cff49f5fa7

It seems the sticky menu state does not fully respect the “Drop menu items in More” setting from the main menu configuration.

Could you please confirm whether:

The sticky menu has a separate setting for this behavior, or

This is a known limitation or issue in the current version of Newspaper / tagDiv Composer?

Thank you for your time and for the continued improvements to the theme.

Hi,

I ran several tests on one of my local installations, and the option appears to be working correctly on my end. It’s possible that an additional plugin is interfering.

Could you please test this using only the theme’s required plugins and see if the issue persists?

If the problem continues, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide: wp-admin access and a link to this thread, so we can identify your case more easily. We’ll check it as soon as possible.

Thank you, Calin

Hello, I have tried many times to remove the mobile logo unsuccessfully. When I add a new logo, the old logo is still there. The problem is only on mobile. I have cleared and reset the cache in my web browser and also tried a different browser, but the problem remains the same. I went to the mobile section, added a logo, removed the logo, and nothing changed. What is the problem? This should be very simple, but it isn’t.

Hi,

This occurs because the logo element is configured differently in the desktop header and the mobile header. To avoid having multiple H1 tags on the page, you’ll need to disable the H1 on the logo in either the desktop or the mobile header so that only one logo uses the H1 tag.

Please enable the “Disable H1 on logo” option for all logos except one. Only a single logo should have the H1 enabled.

You can refer to the screenshots below for guidance: https://i.imgur.com/TVMTRZC.png https://i.imgur.com/Qipw4vB.png If you need further assistance, please contact us via email at contact@tagdiv.com or post your question on our official forum: https://forum.tagdiv.com/

Dear TagDiv Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request the removal of the following domains from my license for the Newspaper – News & WooCommerce WordPress Theme:

sportliva.com dogworldz.com sportsglob.com phonespod.com sportcasino.info

Here are the details of my license:

Item Title: Newspaper – News & WooCommerce WordPress Theme Item URL: https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609 Item ID: 5489609 Item Purchase Code: a23b95ff-785d-4cb1-a5c0-340355f4cfd0

I would like to use the license on new domains, and as per the instructions, I understand that I can unassign domains after 2026-02-03 07:47:30 UTC + 02:00. Please proceed with the removal of the listed domains, and let me know if you need any further information to process my request.

Thank you for your assistance. Best regards,

Abraham

Hi Abraham,

Please do not share your private license key on public support forums like this one. Requests of this type should be made privately via email. You can contact us at contact@tagdiv.com

I’ve requested a check of the license key, and it appears it has not been used correctly. A license key should be used on one live domain and one test/development domain only. In your case, the key appears to have been used on more than 10 domains.

Currently, the theme associated with this license key is active on the following 5 domains: dogsvets.com fumipets.com moneyvests.com petsguide.info fitmealmentors.com

Because of this, we cannot intervene on any of the domains listed above. To use the theme on other domains, or on domains where the key is not already assigned, you will need to purchase a new license key.

Please check the ThemeForest license specifications here – https://themeforest.net/licenses/standardhttps://themeforest.net/licenses/terms/regular -> https://prnt.sc/X0AldIM7e7ni

Hi it’s possible that this theme work with php 7.4.16 ? actually i’m working with the versión 12.6.4 and i want to update to the version 12.7.0?

Hi,

Yes, even though that PHP version is deprecated, the latest theme version will still work with PHP 7.4.16. However, you need to be careful with the WordPress version and other plugin versions, as they may no longer be compatible with such an old PHP version.

Thank you, Calin

how can i display widget on mobile? because i am using your mobile plugin on my website, and the widgets are not showing on the mobile view…

Hi,

As long as the tagDiv Mobile Theme plugin is being used, it is not possible to display sidebars and widgets. These can only be shown when using the responsive version of the theme.

For more details about how the Mobile Theme plugin works, please refer to this guide https://forum.tagdiv.com/mobile-theme-introduction/

Thank you, Calin

I apologize for the inconvenience. I haven’t been able to work with this template; it’s really beautiful, but I simply couldn’t use it properly. I would appreciate your approval for a refund.

Hi,

We’re sorry to hear that. If you would like to request a refund, please submit the request and our team will review it. We’ll let you know if any additional information or steps are needed before the request can be approved.

Hi Team,

I’m considering purchasing your theme and would like to confirm whether it supports frontend guest blog posting with payments before making a decision.

Specifically, can the theme (natively or via its bundled features) support the following workflow:

1. Guest/user fills a frontend blog post submission form

2. Guest makes a payment

3. Payment is successfully completed

4. Submission is saved in WordPress

5. A WordPress post is automatically created

5. The post status is set to “Pending Review” for admin approval

Additionally, I would like to know:

6. Can the number of external links in guest posts be restricted or controlled (for example, allowing only one external link per post)?

7. Can this restriction be applied only to guest users, while admins/editors remain unrestricted?

Please let me know:

a. If this workflow is supported out of the box

b. If it requires an additional plugin (and which one)

c. If payments are supported for both readers and content submitters (guest authors)

Your clarification will help us decide whether this theme fits our publishing needs.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Thank you for considering our theme. Frontend publishing is possible with our theme, we added these features quite some time ago https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-12-update-is-live-explore-the-new-features/ and we added a few demos for them. These features can however be used regardless of what demo you choose to install.

Most of the requirements you mentioned are possible, with some clarifications:

1. The guests don’t fill the submission form and then subscribes or makes the payment. The guests must subscribe and pay first, and then they will be able to submit posts or other types of content. The status of the submitted post can be draft. An editor or admin can verify and approve it. In the submission page you can use custom fields to collect all the information you want, please check for example some of the listing demos https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/newspaper-prebuilt-websites/?demo-type=directory

2. The content of the post can’t be limited, so the number of links of any kind can’t be restricted.

Other than these, all your other requirements are possible. No external plugins are needed, all of these are possible with our theme and the plugins we provide. Of course, there is more to discuss. I suggest checking these guides https://forum.tagdiv.com/tagdiv-opt-in-builder/ -> https://prnt.sc/eDsnuTceCzSb and you have any questions let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Featured Video not displaying on Sport Pro demo?

Hi,

There are 2 elements that can display the featured image in the post page, but only one one them can display the featured video. Demos may use one or the other. If you installed the Sports demo https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_sports_pro/ please edit the post template with the composer https://prnt.sc/MlgzZgN78YwO and delete the “Single Post Bg Featured Image” from it https://prnt.sc/IOyj5VzrS0OS Then please add the “Single Post Featured Image” instead https://prnt.sc/lYg7ipMParXa Now the featured video should be displayed. Please try it.

Regards, Simion C.

is this an Elementor theme? I remember in previous versions it had its own page builder, is it still the case?

Hi,

We provide our own builder, the composer https://tagdiv.com/live-visual-builder/ The composer is a required plugin. And the theme demos https://demo.tagdiv.com/select_demo/newspaper-prebuilt-websites/?demo-type=all and all the content from the cloud library https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/All are built with the composer. It’s not that difficult to use, it just takes a bit of practice. And of course, we will provide assistance as well. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Hello again TagDiv Team,

I hope you are doing well.

Its about: “Small question regarding Post Settings field order (no support request)”

First of all, thank you very much for creating and maintaining the Newspaper theme. I’ve been using it for quite a long time on a news portal website, and it has been a very solid foundation for our editorial workflow.

I would like to politely ask for a small piece of guidance. I fully understand that my support period has expired, and I truly respect your support policy. This is not meant to be a support request, but rather a gentle question in case you are willing to share some direction.

For a news portal workflow, the Post Settings order is quite important for editors. In daily use, the fields that are accessed most frequently are:

  • Primary Category
  • Subtitle

However, in the default Post Settings order, these fields are not placed at the very top, which slightly slows down our editorial process. I’ve tried approaching this via custom snippets (JavaScript-based reordering in the admin area), but it seems the Post Settings are dynamically rendered by internal TagDiv scripts, making DOM-based reordering unreliable.

My question is simply this:

Is there any recommended hook, filter, or internal method provided by the Newspaper framework to reorder Post Settings fields safely, without modifying core theme files?

Or, if not officially supported, could you kindly point me to the file or function responsible for defining the Post Settings field order, so I can evaluate a child-theme-based approach?

Once again, I completely understand if this is outside the scope of support. Any small hint or confirmation (even “not possible by design”) would already be very helpful for me.

Thank you very much for your time and for the great work on Newspaper.

Warm regards, Fahmineo

fahmineo Purchased

Hi Simion,

Thank you for the clarification, much appreciated.

Just to clarify our need: ideally, we would like the Primary Category and Subtitle to appear at the very top of the Post Settings panel, as these are the two settings that reporters must always review for every article. We understand that reordering individual fields may not be supported or may require significant internal changes.

If reordering is not feasible, would there be any supported or recommended way to hide or restrict the Post Template option for non-administrator roles? Since this setting is governed by editorial SOP and rarely changed, hiding it would already improve focus and reduce friction for reporters.

Of course, I fully understand if this is not supported by design — even a confirmation would be very helpful.

Kind regards, Fahmineo

Authors normally have access to the settings meant for posts, for their own posts. User roles lower than authors will not have access to the theme post settings, such as contributors, which can only build the post and submit it for review. So our theme checks what the current user is, if it’s an author, or editor, or admin, the post settings are displayed. If it’s a contributor or subscriber the post settings will not be displayed.

Normally there is no way to hide the post settings from authors using options. You could do it with a code added to the theme functions, or loaded via a code snippets plugin. This is the code https://pastebin.com/PFjy3sEZ I tested it and it should work fine. You could give it a try as well.

Hi Simion,

Thank you very much for the clarification and for sharing the code example. I really appreciate your time and willingness to help, even though my support period has expired.

Your explanation helped me understand the intended behavior of the post settings, and I was able to implement a custom solution that fits our editorial workflow.

Thanks again for your attention and support.

Hello TagDiv Team,

I would like to change the “By” label in post meta (td-author-by) to “Editor”.

I’ve already handled this via JavaScript, but it causes a brief flicker since the HTML is rendered first.

My question is: Is there an official hook, filter, or recommended PHP-based method (child-theme safe) to override or replace the “By” author label before rendering?

I want to keep this update-safe and avoid JS/CSS hacks if possible.

Thank you.

Hi,

That is possible. If you use a cloud post template the text can be changed in the composer https://prnt.sc/p8kDEZoUTgxO Or if you use a standard post template then it can be changed in the theme panel translation settings https://prnt.sc/hH_vp1ucIc-g Or is there a problem using these settings? I tested them and they seem to work. In case there are issues however, please send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and let us know.

Regards, Simion C.

Hi Simion,

Thank you very much for the clarification.

I checked both options (Cloud Post Template and Theme Panel → Translation settings), and it works perfectly.

This is definitely the cleanest and update-safe solution.

Much appreciated, thank you very much for the great support.

Regards.

Excuse me, can you add a FAQ element? This is a must-have feature for websites. My website loads slowly and I don’t want to add any additional plugins to implement FAQs. Thank you

Hi,

Most popular SEO plugins provide a FAQ block, if you use a SEO plugin already and it provides such a block then you could use that one. Our theme doesn’t have such a block unfortunately, we used HTML to build one when needed, like in this demo homepage https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_coaching_pro/ The easiest way to do it however is with a plugin instead of manually with HTML, especially if you want to use lots of FAQ sections. But if you want to do it as we did in the demo I mentioned, we will help with it, you can let us know by email at contact@tagdiv.com

Regards, Simion C.

Hello,

I would like to get a clear confirmation regarding the advertising features of the Newspaper theme:

1 – Is there a test environment or full demo version (not just a live preview) available to test the theme before purchase, especially for advertising setup?

2 – Are the advertising spaces modular or fixed? More specifically:

- Can we create and place custom ad zones in different locations (header, sidebar, content, footer, etc.) using the theme options or builder? - Are these ad zones responsive and adaptable to different devices? - Or are the advertising placements fixed and limited to predefined locations only?

Thank you in advance for your clarification.

Best regards,

Hi,

Thank you for your interest in our theme.

1. There isn’t unfortunately. The only way to test the theme is to purchase it and install it. If you are not satisfied with the theme we can provide a refund.

2. The theme uses ad boxes https://forum.tagdiv.com/ads-adsense-overview/ Ad boxes can be placed anywhere, there is no limitation for where you can use them or how many. The ad box will load the ad code you enter in it, it can be simple a simple image and link, or AdSense code, or custom ad code.

Please let me know if you have more questions.

Regards, Simion C.

does this theme has content like feature? If not, any recommended compatible plugin?

Hi,

I don’t quite understand what you mean unfortunately. What feature are you referring to exactly? Please mention a few more details.

When editing on tavdig, if I choose the mobile and do my editings there, it won’t show up on the mobile and will change the way it shows on my laptop. How to fix this? I really can’t make this work on mobile

Hi,

So the mobile version is displayed on the laptop/desktop? That could happen because of caching. The caching must be configured to create separate caches for desktop and mobile. It depends on what caching are you using on the website, but I suggest checking if it has a dedicated setting for mobile. If you want we can take a look as well, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and let us know.
