Hello, We have a purchased copy of this theme but when I try to activate it I get a message saying “the Envato API is down. please try again later.” is this a known and (hopefully temporary) issue? I just want to be sure that error is telling the truth or if something else is broken.

It must have been something temporary on Envato’s side. Did it work eventually? Or are there still issues? Hi,
A subscription unlocks all posts that use the same locker. If you want to unlock just a post, then you could create and set a different locker just for that post. This way when someone subscribes through that locker, they only unlock that post. You can use multiple lockers and plans if needed, it’s the only way to control what is unlocked.

How to show the table of contents after 1st two paragraphs? Is there a dark mode toggle button that can be used on a computer, tablet, and mobile device?

The table of contents can’t be displayed inside the post content unfortunately. It can be placed anywhere else in the post template but not in the post content.
We had plans to add a dark mode in the theme, but the plans were delayed. You could use a plugin for it, I believe there are a few free plugins that provide a basic dark mode.

Sure thing. The theme provides dedicated elements in the builder for creating submission pages https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-12-update-is-live-explore-the-new-features/
The submitted content can be regular posts or custom post types. Besides the required post related elements like the title, content featured image, you can create as many custom fields as needed with the ACF plugin, and collect the relevant information for your submissions. It depends on what type of content you want to use.

The submission part can be integrated with our subscription plugin. So for example you can provide different plans https://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper_real_estate_pro/select-a-plan/ and limit how much content a subscriber can submit based on the plan they subscribed to.

Unfortunately not, we have no plans to provide apps.
Not sure what op-eds and analysis are, are they categories or post types? You can create as many post types as you want, and as many categories for them as you want. Then you can create submission pages for each post type.

That’s correct. Users can submit regular articles or any post type that you create and provide, the post types can be called anything. All it needs is a submission page for each post type.

That is possible. In the submission page you can set the submission button to have limits based on the plans https://prnt.sc/D_fgytGyCbd9 Then on the plans you can set the limits you want. For example this plan is free and I’ve set a limit of 0 posts https://prnt.sc/zWGB4rrjIJaH For a paid plan I can set a limit of 2 posts https://prnt.sc/DopfyVSOHh6p and so on. You can create multiple plans each with their own price and limits.

I configured the Article Auto Loading function (load next article on scroll), but it is not working on my website. The next article does not load while scrolling.

I have one more question regarding author pages in the Newspaper theme.
I created an author page using a ready-made template from the Newspaper Cloud Library: https://maxitolog.ru/articles/author/aktivpolz/This template already contains a posts listing section. I expected it to automatically show only the posts written by the author whose page is currently being viewed. In other words, each author page should display that author’s own posts.
However, the listing currently shows all posts, and I cannot understand how to configure it so the theme recognizes the current author page and displays only that author’s articles.
Could you please clarify whether this template supports automatic author filtering, and how it should be configured correctly?

Please check if the block is set to display posts from the current author https://prnt.sc/b8Lxi4Pl1KDP That special filter makes the block display posts from the author you are on. If that filter is not set, the block displays posts normally.

Our theme has frontend content submission https://tagdiv.com/newspaper-theme-12-update-is-live-explore-the-new-features/ Tis can be integrated with our subscription plugin, so users will have to register and subscribe and then they can submit content. You can create different payment plans with different submission limitations, so for example a cheaper plan allows 2 submissions, a pricier plan allows 5 submissions, and so on. Is there any way that I can see the demo login? I just wanted to see how the post blogs work for a user who registered as a new user…
One more question: Say, in the posted article, I see the thumbnail images are from the articles where users posted… so here, can I modify this thumbnail image layout so it displays the images from the posted user’s profile images ?
We can’t provide a login for our live demos if that is what you mean.
A registered user will have access to their account page on your website, and the options you add in it. The basic available options will be the account dashboard, edit account, and subscriptions panel https://prnt.sc/AKKPJn2yjGV1 Then if you provide content submission you can add an option for them to submit articles, see all their articles, edit them, etc.
Not sure however about your second question. Normally in content submissions the subscribers are allowed to submit a featured image and additional images in the post content, or galleries, or other custom fields as needed. Of course, as an admin you can modify the submitted articles as you want. If this is a requirement for you, you can set the articles to be drafts after they are submitted https://prnt.sc/K1Km7bp9JmW_ so then you can check them or modify them and publish them eventually. If not, they will be exactly as the subscribers submit them.

That depends on the type of header you are using. For full customization it’s best to use a cloud header -> https://cloud.tagdiv.com/#/load/Headers Then you can add anything you want in both the desktop header and the mobile header https://forum.tagdiv.com/header-manager/ If you use the older standard headers, then these can only look in one way. I am currently using your latest Newspaper theme on my website, and I’m facing a performance issue related to the Network Dependency Tree in Google PageSpeed Insights.
The report shows a long critical request chain caused by resources such as:
theme CSS files font files (Font Awesome, Open Iconic, Newspaper icons)
This is increasing the critical path latency (~683ms) and affecting my LCP performance.
I am already using:
LiteSpeed Cache (with Guest Mode ON) Cloudflare (with optimization enabled)
However, the issue still persists.
My Questions: Is this dependency chain caused by the Newspaper theme structure? Is there a recommended way to reduce or eliminate these chained requests? Can I safely defer or remove unused font/icon files without breaking the theme? Any specific settings for LiteSpeed or Cloudflare that work best with your theme?
My goal is to fix the network dependency tree issue and improve PageSpeed score (especially LCP).
Please guide me with the best possible solution.

Those are the theme icon fonts https://prnt.sc/4n318gyWgt_Z When using icons or other elements that display icons in the page, the theme has to load the font for the icon. They are most likely not unused, because they are loaded only when they are needed, depending on what icons are displayed in the page. You could if possible use icons from just one font instead of multiple fonts, then only one font will be loaded. I suggest checking the icons used in the page, and if possible use icons just from one font.

2. Yes, it can be used with any type of ads, including Google AdSense.
3. Currently, that button is disabled in the Job Hunt Pro demo; otherwise, it would receive too many job requests.
4. Yes, it’s possible to allow users to apply for a job without logging in. However, you will need to use a contact form or a similar solution to collect the necessary information from applicants so you can contact them afterward.
5. You can set any link you want on the buttons, so there will be no issue redirecting users to other websites after they click the “Apply Now” button.
6. You can use any prebuilt website, and you can even combine them using the tagDiv Cloud Library. You can import pages, templates, sections, and more. Each license key can be used for one live domain and one test domain.
