All Our Best,
Your Theme.co Team

Hey, I love the theme I was just wondering how do you take tags off of the blog posts. It really is getting in the way everything that I tag my posts with

Thanks for the kind words!

One of our developers would be happy to help you with this in the forums. If you have not registered for access yet, you can do so here: http://theme.co/x/go/register.php

Be sure to search the forum first as there are thousands of answered threads, and this has most likely already been asked/answered. Should you need any help after checking there first, feel free to open a new thread. Cheers!

Thinking of buying this template, can i use instead of the standard social icons in the top bar, use another icon set?

Hi There,

As those are the ones integrated into the theme, you would need to customize that yourself, but it is definitely possible. We simply wouldn’t be able to provide support for the setup or integration of that as it falls under customizations. Let us know if you need anything further, my friend!

Hi there, I am looking to buy a theme for my website and the X seems to be on top of the list. I have two websites that are very simple and more used as a presence on the web, so if I purchase your theme can I use it on both of them? Also, do you have tutorials that guide through the building process? thanks!

Hi There,

The license if for a single use, so if you had two sites, you would need to purchase two licenses.

We do have a lot of member resources including video tutorials, demo content, knowledge base articles, a forum, and more! All of this can be accessed here after purchase.

Cheers, my friend!

Hi there

I want something special and want to know if the theme es flexible enough.

I want a fixed header (only picture) and a fixed footer (text and menu). On the left side I want to choose between a fixed and a scolling menubar.

I don’t want a fluid layout. it sould be 960 pixel wide.

I looked through your demos but I think this one is very special. Is that possible? Even if the left menu is fixed? so there are there areas fixed.

Greetings Gurkenglas

Hi Gurkenglas,

There is nothing out of the box that would allow for that sort of layout and functionality. To be honest, I’m not even sure you can have 2-3 independent fixed areas on a page.

You can definitely set the 960px wide, no problem.

We also have several blank templates that might be of use.

Let us know if you need anything further, my friend!

When enabling transparent header, menu, footer:

how do you remove the thin horizontal separator line between -the header and the body -the body and the footer

thanks

Hi There,

This would be done through a little CSS modification, and if you head on over to the forum, a member of our development staff will be happy to help. Be sure to browse the forum first, as many questions have already been asked/answered such as this. If you still need assistance after browsing through the forum, feel free to open a new thread.

If you haven’t registered yet, you can do so here: http://theme.co/x/go/register.php.

Cheers, my friend!

Is it possible that the “content with” function in the customizer is not working? It doesn’t meter which value I fill in it doesn’t make any change.

Hi There,

It is definitely working and we have not had any other reports of an issue with the Customizer and setting a width for the site. Feel free to open a thread in our forum, and a member of our support staff will be happy to help. When you post the thread be sure to list your domain, the version of WordPress, the version of the theme and shortcode plugin you are working with, plus a list of any other active plugins you may have.

For starters, you can try deactivating 3rd party plugins one at a time (except those plugins included or recommended with X as they are all tested to work just fine) to see if it is a conflict with a 3rd party plugin as it sounds likes it may be.

If after doing that, the issue is still there, our guys will be happy to help in the forum, just remember to post all the information above to help expedite your request. If you have not registered for access yet, you can do so here: http://theme.co/x/go/register.php

Cheers, my friend!

ATTENTION X THEMERS

April 24, 2014 – We wanted to let you all know that version 1.8.4 is now available on your ThemeForest download page. This update includes a very nifty new automatic plugin update feature, and there is some important information related to this update we have put together in this forum thread.

Please make sure to read that thread before updating. You must be logged in to access it, and if you have not done so yet, you can register here.

Thank-you, friends!

Hello, Pre-sale question ;)

Is it possible to make a site like this with the wp theme?: -mock up pic: http://i.cubeupload.com/J6rt8P.png

Thank you :)

Thank you for the reply :)

You’re most welcome :)

Hi There,

Just a quick note that as of June 20, 2014 we have switched our Renew 2 and Renew 10 demos for organization purposes. The Renew 2 demo is now a one page example (using the Renew Stack) while the Renew 10 demo is the fullwidth colored bands. We wanted to pass that on to avoid any potential confusion since part of your question and/or our answer had to do with those demos. Cheers!

This new and inexperienced user has been trying to find support, tutorials and the like. I’ve tried your way to get a Purchase Code and the suggested links are not there. How can I get assistance (even if paid) so I am set up right and on my way to Blogging? Help please.

Hi There,

If you have purchased the theme (which you have by the PURCHASED) message we see next to your name, you can to go http://themeforest.net/downloads and follow the instructions here to get your transaction ID. Once you have that, use that plus your Envato username SFBarnett (case sensitive) and you’ll be able to join.

If you need anything further, or are still having issues after following those instructions, please contact us.

Thanks!

Pre-sale question—I like the design a lot, but want to use it on a non-Wordpress site. We work with HTML and CSS and taking what we need won’t be difficult, but I wanted to make sure that the files in the theme are standard (eg: HTML for the pages, CSS files for styling, JS files for Javascript, etc so we can take what we need) and not some locked format that can only be used on Wordpress sites (having never done this from a Wordpress template/design before).

Thanks!

Hi There,

As it is a WordPress theme, all the included files are created in a way to work with WordPress. We do not have an HTML version of X if that is what you are asking. Cheers, my friend!

The homepage doesn’t show the content of the page of “Home” but instead shows blog posts, so how would I change it to show Home content as to make a custom home page as I would like?

Hi There,

That is a WordPress setting under Settings > Reading. Cheers!

Hi,

As with many other, finger on the purchase button but I have one question.

At the very bottom of the description of the template it shows IE8 as a compatible browser but in the widget on the right at the top of the screen it doesn’t – it only goes as far back as IE9.

I need to be sure that it is compatible with IE8 as we will be servicing some users who have managed machines and can only have the browser that comes with the OS installed (IE8 on Windows 7).

Thanks, David.

Hi David,

Thanks for reaching out to us about Internet Explorer 8 (and for letting us know about the bottom of the listing as we have corrected that). Here is a more detailed answer we have put together on our policy regarding Internet Explorer 8 going forward:

Internet Explorer 8 was released on March 19, 2009 and was originally intended for use on Windows XP, which was first released to computer manufacturers on August 24, 2001. As of September 2013, estimates of Internet Explorer 8’s global market share ranged from 6.93% to 8.73% (these statistics have continued to drop of precipitously with each consecutive month).

Keep in mind that this is not all Internet Explorer usage, simply Internet Explorer 8 usage. Internet Explorer 8 is now a five year old piece of software, which in web development terms means that it is very old. The only reason that this browser has remained around as long as it has is due to the fact that Windows XP was a mainstay in the PC ecosystem (which you mentioned above), particularly for businesses.

As you can see from the information provided above, Windows XP is a thirteen year old piece of software and has ultimately become a problematic factor in the industry as it has greatly hindered further development and implementation of new technologies. Because of this, Microsoft is ending support for Windows XP in April (less than a month from the time of this writing). With the ending of support for XP, users are essentially going to be forced into having to upgrade their operating systems to receive assistance, security updates, et cetera. Upon upgrading to these newer systems, users will need to also update their browser to a newer version.

Now that Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 11, this also means that Internet Explorer 8 is three versions old, and more and more users are abandoning this old platform for the newest offerings put in place by Microsoft. Because of all of this, many providers have already dropped Internet Explorer 8 support for their services (i.e. Google), and Envato (the parent company over ThemeForest) no longer requires Internet Explorer 8 support from their themes due to all of the statistics and information previously mentioned. This is because the amount of time invested in fixing the numerous problematic issues presented by this legacy browser are typically not worth the returns from the increasingly small proportion of users who are utilizing Internet Explorer 8.

We began building X around the middle of last year when Internet Explorer 8 usage was much higher than it is now. However, since then the numbers have continued to dwindle significantly to the point that it is no longer prudent to support such an old piece of software. Because of this, we have just recently made the decision to drop Internet Explorer 8 support with X so that we can ultimately make a better product for our users that is not held back by the old conventions set in place by this legacy browser.

Cheers, my friend!

Hello, I have just bought the X theme and it’s working well however it seems that I can’t register for post sales support I write my username and paste the item purchase code and doesn’t work. Am I doing anything wrong? thanks in advance,

David

Hi David,

To register you can find your transaction ID here, then the username you need to enter is davidhurtado (case sensitive. If you are still having issues, feel free to contact us.

Thank-you, my friend!

Hi , I just purchased the theme and I am trying to build my page from the demo of integrity 1. I copy/pasted the html file as instructed, but somehow all text blocks are not styled at all. On frontend you still see the raw html code, but only with the text blocks. Do you have any suggestions? thanks

Hi There,

There is a detailed video walkthrough of the Integrity 01 Demo here. If you need anything else after going through that and using the forum search, feel free to open a new thread, and a member of our team will be happy to help! Cheers, my friend!

Hiya. Quick pre-sales question – is it possible to get a trial copy, just for a few days, to see if this is actually what we need? The screenshots are fab but I need to be totally sure before spending the money. Thanks!

Hi There,

1) Yes.
2) Absolutely! As you can see from our Column Shortcode, you have lots of column options on a page.

Quick response! Thanks so much. One last question – half of our site is built in a different platform to handle complex financial blahblahs, and Wordpress sits next to it on the server. Is it possible to customize the header so it can be pixel perfect with the other half of the site? We don’t want any jolt in the customer journey. I can’t give you a live example at the mo – it’s pretty standard though – top nav bar, primary nav bar with a logo in between the two.

You’re most welcome :)

Sure, this would obviously be something you or your developer would have to do as there would definitely be some customizing to make it match pixel perfect, but anything is possible with the right development help. We simply wouldn’t support something like that as it falls under customizations.

Let us know if you need anything further, my friend!

Hi, How do i go about in adding images on the portfolio as i am stuck and cant find a video of the walk-through. Thanks

Hi There,

There is a portfolio video on our Knowledge Base that walks through everything. If you still need help after going through that and searching the forum, feel free to open a thread in the forum, and a member of our team will be happy to help.

Hi I hope you are well, What’s the latest on the “Magazine” stack, are we any closer to release?

Would love to hear back,

Thanks

We found the thread here and as you can see, the comment was referring to the design being 95% complete. Now our team is hard at work bringing it to life. Cheers!

ahh.. that link wont work, but either way, thanks for the update

Hmmm…it’s working for us. Either way though, you are most welcome :)

Hello,

I have a pre-sales question. Is it possbile to create a homepage, like the one, from the live preview. The one pager, when a button in the menu is clicked, it scrolls down to that section on the homepage.

Thanks in advance!

Hi There,

Absolutely! The one page functionality (how it works in X) can be seen in this demo. You can activate the one page functionality in each Stack (we simply setup the demo on Renew). Let us know if you need anything further, my friend!

Cheers!

Hi!

Just a pre-buy question… What’s the relationship of the theme with Visual Composer? I mean… From what I see the theme provides its own shortcodes, and Visual Composer has their own. Can’t they overlap leaving us with a mess? If after creating a site with these two I change the stack of X Theme, will all those widgets from shortcodes adapt to the new styles?

I find it a bit confusing having buttons from the theme and VC, having an accordion shortcode from the theme and VC, etc… so I don’t know which should we use (maybe they are the same?) to be able to evolve and maintain the site without too much problems (for example, changing the stack of the theme and having to modify 100pages because the widgets didn’t adapt to the new style).

Thanks!

Hey there,

Thanks for writing in! We utilize Visual Composer simply as a drag and drop framework for our own shortcodes. What that means is that we have disabled Visual Composer’s native shortcodes and have implemented our own into their system via the API provided with the plugin. We have done this for the very reasons you state above (i.e. there’s no need for two “Accordion” shortcodes, et cetera). This allows us to create a custom tailored experience for our users and ultimately make building pages with our shortcodes easier for our users who prefer to do so in this manner as opposed to hand coding their layouts.

Don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any further questions about the theme!

Hi! I finally bough the theme and very happy so far. Good job guys.

Just one more question about VC… does that disabling you mention affect any other VC componentes? Put in a different way, if we buy any of the VC addons with additional widgets… will they work with X (styling apart, of course)?

Cheers!

Many thanks! Glad to hear you are enjoying your time with X :)

Since we have customized VC to work with our Shortcodes, the addons will most likely not work out of the box as they are meant to go with the standard VC plugin.
