Hi, I’ve a problem on a site where I use “Salient theme”. I’m unable to insert link on the “Interactive Banner” elements. When I click on the button nothin happen… I’ve the last version of “ultimate addon for visual composer plugin” and the last version of “Salient” theme. Any idea? The team from the plugin answered me this:
We are aware of this issue, as WordPress version 3.9 which was just released about few weeks ago, did produce some issues in the link selector element of the Visual Composer itself (not in our plugin as it just uses their APIs)
Even if you deactivate our plugin completely and try use the elements VC provides by default (like Button 2 & Call to Action Button 2) the link selector wouldn’t work.
However, in the 4.1.2 version of Visual Composer, author of Visual Composer has fixed that issue.
So – I guess, what you need to do to resolve this issue is, get in touch with author of your theme and ask them for the latest version of Visual Composer through an update, which makes itself fully compatible with WordPress 3.9
On other note, if you need a quick fix with manual shortcodes entries, You can take a quick test drive of the plugin here, which will create an identical site as our demo for you.
The backend login detail of that site will be emailed so you can get in and generate shortcodes for yourself.

I do have one question, I have a Nectar slide containing four images. Is it possible to have a transparent header for the first image only than a solid header for the remaining images? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m experiencing weird button behavior on this page (SAT and ACT buttons in second section):

The buttons won’t “unhover”. Also, the text stays black when hovered over even w/ the code specifying white. Here’s what I have:

I can not install this update. I got this message “The uploaded file exceeds the upload_max_filesize directive in php.ini.”
I tried with the previous versions and everything is fine with them unless they are over 5 MB.

You could either reach out to your hosting company and ask them bump up your max upload size or just use FTP to transfer the theme into your themes directory

This is the most game changing event ever and my site can’t be seen by anyone.
These frequent updates are killing me man. Why so many? Can you please fix my site? I updated it the same way I always do and now I’m missing more opportunities than I can count.

I have no idea how to fix this and would really really appreciate your help in this. I’ve been working on this site for months in preparation for this event in which hundreds of people have attempted to access my site which is a white blank page.
If this can’t be fixed by you then I’d like a refund. Literally hundreds of hours of work are now missing during the time I needed this site most.

Just logged into your site – saw that you had a child theme active but had no parent theme installed at all. I uploaded the latest release from TF and the site appears to be functioning normally

I’m having trouble with the one page style setup for my site.
On one of my rows I have an id set to aboutus
Then in my menu I have a button which goes to url
www.websitename.co.uk/#aboutus
Now clicking the tab does go down to the about us section however I expected the navigation button pressed to stay active only when I’m on that particular row.
Not sure I’m explaining it too well but essentially what I want to happen is say I have 3 sections. About us, work and contact. My inactive button state is white and active is blue. If I click contact the page should go down to contact section and only the contact button will stay blue. The rest should be white.
This doesnt seem to be happening for me.
Any ideas?

Hi ThemeNectar, I have a question regarding the icons of the Salient Theme. Since the latest update they are a bit off and not aligned with the circle shape behind them. I have the theme running on 2 websites and they both have the same issue. http://bosplaatjes.nl/press/ Do you have any idea what is causing it? I have the feeling that it’s one of the icon packs doing it. Not all icons seem to have the same mis-alignment (if that’s a word). Thanks!

I deactivated the modified Visual Composer included with Salient so that I can use the stock VC version, because I have other composer plugins that won’t integrate with your modified version. The problem is I lose the custom row options included with your modified version. Is there a way to include this in the stock Visual Composer version? I’m trying to create a row with full-width content. Your theme supports this, but I no longer have those row options because I disabled your modified Visual Composer. Please help. Unfortunately since that is a Salient specific element – it would require doing some modding in order to get it to appear in the standalone plugin as well.

FYI – When using the stock Visual Composer, I simply added (full-width-content) for Extra Class Name under Row Settings and it gave me a full width content row like I needed.

Yes, but it would require some file modding if you wanted to change the icon – however simply altering its appearance or removing it could be handled all with css. Please let me know what you had in mind

Hi, is there a way to define the accent color of a page with a custom CSS rule? I would like to have the accent color change in certain pages (tabs, links, icons, etc.), and it is too troublesome to target all the elements individually.

The only way to do that would either be through custom development in the colors.php file – where you could conditionally change the color variable based on the page id, or of course take the longer route of simply pasting the bulk selector into the page itself where you’d override the color set.

Does the Salient theme have a page template for creating a blank landing page? Basically, a template without the normal header or footer, so it’s just a blank page that can be built with the composer. I imagine needing this for landing pages.

Hello , how can i avoid a password-protected portfolio item from showing up completely when you click through the portfolio using the navigation arrows.. background for my question is that i have two portfoliopages, one public, one protected but alle files come out of the big portfolio folder, i seperated them using categories ( visible/ not visible). Or is there a way to have two completely seperate portfolios after all? Thanks for an answer & my biggest appreciation for the theme…
