Is it possible to customize the tabs or buttons in the Buddypress Member Profile?

Am looking to use the WC Vendors plugin to let members have their own small show in their Member Profiles and creating their own “Tab” would be advantageous as users can click on it.

Also noted that the tabs are on load but not ajax, will there be a future update to have them load with page and Ajax Load?

Forgot to ask as well, the Media Tab in the Member Profile. What Plugin is this? Does the Member have the ability to create albums within the media tab?

I can’t understand exactly to what kind of element are you referring with “Category Recent Post Sliders”, if you could give a real example like a site or a screenshot it would help me understand.

You can customize profile tabs, but unfortunately you’ll need programming skills, i know there’s a plugin out there to help you do so, but from what i know is not free.

Integrating WC Vendors with buddypress is probably more than just adding their tab on the profile, you should better ask the plugin developer if they integrate in somehow with buddypress.

The profile tabs are not loaded with ajax because that’s the way buddypress works. If they will change this, we will too.

The media tab is enabled once you activate the rTmedia or BP Albums plugins, and users can upload media files in there.

Sorry for the link to another theme, this is my current theme and our business is somewhat of a newspaper style and would like to keep it similar to a magazine style site.

As you can see in the link, there is a large slider that shows the recent post for the chosen category. Is there such feature in Kleo?

Do you have any planned review systems in the future? One thing I would like to do is allow users to add their reviews to our articles etc.

I am very interested in this theme but it is a completely different style as to what we have now having a Magazine style website with hundreds of users, thousands of posts and hundred thousands of images.

Would definitely be interested in working with you grow this as we have devs who constantly improve the themes and send code to the theme authors.

We already have on our “TO DO” list to build some special options, shortcodes, visual composer elements and some demos regarding the “magazine style” niche, but all of this will come in one of our future updates.

Meanwhile if you really want to migrate to KLEO, i would recommend you to give a look at what you can achieve with the new options from the last update of Visual Composer. Also in most cases where you want a big slider, you can use the Revolution Slider without problems.

So far it is a great theme and quite easy to use! Had to re-install everything tho and start from scratch but we easily imported the XML data for posts and stuff. That took quite a while due to the amount.

However, we are now redoing the posts and pages. One thing that might be a bug is the “Gallery” Post Format.

When we select this Post format, the thumbnails do not show on the Post List/Blog List, but the Image Post Format does show this.

Is this a bug or just the way your theme works?

As long as you have the featured image set up for every post, the thumbnail should be shown. It might also depend of the listing layout that you’re using.

I have experimented and it is definitely the Post Format “Gallery” causing the issue, all posts in the tests have featured images and if the post format is set to anything else apart from Gallery, it shows the Post Thumbnails in archives, categories etc.

However, as soon as you switch the Post Format to “Gallery” without touching anything else, it removes the thumbnails in the archives and categories.

Another bug I have found is that, when you add KLEO custom Menu such as “My Account” to the menu, and then add a menu within that menu that is a custom link, “My Account” still appears when the user is logged out.

The custom link is to link up the rtMedia Tab as a Menu using this custom link ”##profile_link##/media/”. Would you be able to implement this as a custom menu to only show to logged in users? As it does conflict with the KLEO Custom menus.

Oh I got it now about the gallery post format. There’s how the gallery post format works, from the edit page, below the edit content screen, you’ll find a section called “Theme General Settings”, and under the “Media” tab, you will find a section called slider. Once you add images to that slider section, in the post listing, instead of a thumbnail, you’ll see a small image slider.

You should use the “My Account” link given in the “KLEO” section of the drag and drop menu editor. Also add your media item as a submenu under the My Account item.

I am managing along fine and loving it, when you say

I have followed these instructions but unfortunately there seems to be a bug within the code as when you log out and have the media item as a submenu under the My Account Item, a logged out user can see the text “My Account” but no menus within that menu.

This maybe a bug, Would like to also know if Nav Roles the Plugin is compatible as I did install it but seems to have a clash, have not tried it out however yet.

For the issue with the menu, that’s exactly how it should work. You should also add login/logout links as submenus to the primari “My Account” menu item. Then you’ll se how nice those menu items play.

Nav Menu Roles it won’t work, but we’ll see if we can consider to support it in the future.

We already have a style for your forums which you can see here: http://seventhqueen.com/themes/kleo/forums/ If you need any more customizations that are not available directly from our theme panel then you should have to make them by yourself. Please note that this will require some programming knowledge.

Here is a screenshot:

Left side shows I am logged in and shows you the menu which is fine. When I log out, it still shows “My Account” (Sorry it is not My Profile but it is My Account Menu).

I would like to this not be shown while a guest/person is logged out, the Nav Menu Roles were able to remove this previously before Kleo but there seems to be a conflict with the Theme.

Yes, unfortunately you can’t hide it completely. It was built so you can put login, register and logout as submenus under the my account item. Give a look here and use our demo user to login and see how it’s supposed to work. ( demo/demo as user/pass ).

As i’ve said, we’ll try to see if we can add compatibility with Nav Menu Roles in the future, but I don’t know exactly when this will gonna happen.

I am very grateful for the support you have provided so far, I am testing out every aspect of the theme and it is really incredible on how this theme functions.

I would like to know if you know of any Plugins or ideas on how to create the site to be a Casting, Model or Talent agency style profiles? As in how to add images on the first page of the profile.

Also Do you recommend removing Buddypress to achieve the Casting Agency style website as we do not need the functions of Buddypress but just the profiles?

You can disable the buddypress plugin if you don’t want/need to use any of it’s features.

Regarding your model book idea, there are a lot of ways creating listings or custom pages to list your models.

You can make the pages yourself using Visual Composer, or for example you can use the Portfolio to list your models. It’s really up to way you envision this listing.

That seems to be a much more custom setup and you’ll have to find the right tools/plugins and combine them to achieve what you need. If you don’t have in-depth knowledge of how wordpress works and you don’t have some programming skills, i would recommend you to hire a developer, at least as a consultant to find and integrate the right plugins.

Just would like to know how to disable the theme’s default lightbox? I am using the JIG plugin and would like to use their features as I need the Tagging Features it comes with.

Please let me know what code to comment out/delete to disable the themes default lightbox as at the moment, two lightboxes show up.

You can do such things from you wp admin area, under “Theme Options > BuddyPress”.

After you export your new fontello selection, ( but please go from importing our config and adding new icons so you won’t break other elements) you will have to also replace the fontello font file from our theme, and finaly you should do the changes from the step 2 and 3 from the tutorial page.
