you can add it via the Custom Link section of the menu page. Just add mailto:someone@yoursite.com as the link and Contact Me as the label.

Hi, ever since I made the 2.3.6. update with WooCommerce, the checkout feature does not work in IE anymore. This has been over 5 days now. The state dropdown menu is frozen on the screen where it doesn’t allow the customer to type in any of their information. It’s like the java script is breaking the forms. Unfortunately most of our customers are from the IE browser (Firefox,Chrome work fine).
I don’t know if this information helps at all to fix the problem: >Your theme has bundled outdated copies of WooCommerce template files. >salient/woocommerce/cart/cart-totals.php version 2.3.0 is out of date. The core version is 2.3.6,

Everytime woocommerce is updated there is an issue with: Your theme has bundled outdated copies of WooCommerce template files.

OK – so I spent all day trying to make this work:
Nectar Slider on home page with Imagemapper (image map plugin) shortcode in the caption field.
Image map links work on desktop, iPad both in portrait and landscape view.
Image map links do NOT work on iPhone portrait or landscape view.
But… get this, the links DO work on iPhone portrait or landscape view when I put the same shortcode in the Slide Out Widget Area.
It seems that something in the Nectar Slider is deactivating the hyperlinked areas of the image map but only on smartphone.
Failing a fix for this – how far away is the VC update which allows for a different Home page on selected mobile devices?

P.S. There are also supposed to be hover overlays on the image map which work in the Slide Out Widget Area but not when used in the Nectar Slider…
Another weird thing, when I go to another page and click my logo to return to Home page, the image map suddenly scales much larger… I realise this could also be something to do with the imagemapper plugin, but as it is only occuring in Nectar Slider, I thought I’d start here first.
Also, something weird is happening on my tag archive pages. My blog layout is standard blog no sidebar, but it renders the whole tag’s page in the archive pages…? Sorry for all the questions!
Any ideas on this?
I realise you don’t provide support when it involves other plugins, but is there any way I can have a completely different Home page for smartphone layouts?

This is a great theme! Just one small problem though. My portfolio is invisible. My friend bought this for me and a few weeks ago it was working fine. Now, my portfolio page has a big gap where the items should be. These invisible items are still linked, but I cannot see anything.

I’m guessing that the woocommerce product VC module ignores the products set menu order because only in the VC modules does it display them out of order compared to the shop page.
If that’s true, I hope you can update it to follow the products menu order.

Awesome, thanks! One more note regarding woo products. I tried using a woocommerce shortcode to display products by category instead of the VC module. So I placed this shortcode into a text block. The output looks quite bad. I removed all my own custom styles in the child theme, and it still looks bad. So I’m guessing the parent theme needs to accommodate the styles for this shortcode.

I was wondering how I can use WPB VC + Salient VC together? Some modules like the Post Grid in WPB VC is really useful but it seems to be missing in the Salient VC.
When I have WPB + Salient activated together, the website just has a white page meaning there is a conflict.
Any solutions or will there be an update to integrate the use of WPB VC?

Hey – unfortunately you can’t use both at the same time as of now. This would require some custom development but the new grid option in VC may make its way into the Salient version

I have the same parallax performance issue… site is testing.layer3.net.nz main page feels very ‘laggy’. Remove the parallax and it’s fine.

great theme but it has 2 big problems imo:
1. Full width post readability.
The optimal line length for body text is considered to be 50-75 characters per line. Salient blog demo has 140+ which makes it really hard to read.
Salient posts should be more like https://medium.com/.
2. The two identical hamburger icons on mobile when using the slide out widget.
It’s bad (UX/UI) design. It confuses users because they have to guess which icon is the site’s menu. This also means higher bounce rate if they don’t find what they are expecting on the first click.
What are your thoughts on this matter?

1. You could either use custom css to further shorten the width of the content area or simply increase the font size in the typography options panel
2. This is an item on the wishlist to allow the user to define a custom icon for the slide out widget area – for now it would take custom css if you’re making use of both the regular menu and the slide out widget area together

Very shaky performance of parallax background in Google Chrome if smooth scroll is enabled.
Do you know anything about that? If I scroll, the bg is behaving so very much NOT smooth, that I have to enable either parallax or smooth scroll.
That does not happen if I use a 3rd party plugin for smooth scroll but I can not use it because it is changing the container width somehow and that produces a gap between fullwidth container an the screen edge.
So I really would like to use your build in smooth scroll but what is this what I see in Google Chrome? I have to find out if I only see this on my machine or you, too.

Salient v5.5 separated Visual Composer into a plugin and it is no longer automatically built in – this means when you activate the theme you’ll have to still install the Visual Composer plugin via the admin panel. It is included still with the theme and no purchase is necessary, just head to the plugins section of your admin panel to install & activate. Cheers!
I installed the new update, activated it, cleared the browser cache and nothing has changed regarding the shaky parallax performance in google chrome. ????
I am using a very customized Salient version, so I can not just run every update. However, I installed the original salient, latest version and nothing changed with the performance in chrome. Can you please talk to me about this more in detail? Obviously this was a known issue for you, what exactly have you changed to fix it or at least try to fix it. I had to switch back to my custom salient version but as I said, there was no difference in regards of parallax performance in chrome.

Thanks for the quick response that’s great all sorted, not sure if this is a bug or something I’ve done wrong but my icons all have a white background rather than matching the column/row bg colour, I had this all working then it changed and I can’t figure out what I might of done – you can see what I mean here – http://www.aletalkproductions.co.uk/page-2/
