Hello, I know almost nothing about Wordpress but I’m willing to learn as I work on a replacement site for my business. I’m giving myself months to create a new site.
I have a pre sale question.
I like the look of the Brick and Cabin themes. Can either theme be used without the e-commerce feature? Can a “shop” section be eliminated?

I just have a few more questions so I can decide on which one:
In comparing the “Pages” of each it looks like Brick has one more page (FAQ). Can Cabin have as many pages as Brick? – can Cabin have a FAQ page?
Can a color footer bar be placed on the Home page of Cabin like their is in the Brick demo? Can the height of the footer bar and the width of the left navigation side bar be adjusted in both themes? I might want to make both equal if I can – my logo includes an equal width left and bottom bar just like the website might.
Does Brick have as many blog and portfolio options as Cabin?
The Cabin description says unlimited colors. Can the left navigation side bar and the footer bar and anywhere else have unlimited colors? Does the same apply to Brick?

Both of these themes can feature as many pages as you’d like – there’s no limitation, it just depends on your content structure.
A valuable note is that these themes are built on our latest framework which lets you adjust all of the above to your design and your content structure. The key difference would be that Brick features some slightly new features such as – Blog loop, Image Animation among others.
The best way to choose between them would be to scroll over the demos these themes have to offer and see to which one you relate the most – which one would cause the minimal edit required to match your site design and is most appealing to you to start with.
Both of these themes feature Select Slider and come bundled with Visual Composer (a premium page builder plugin) and Layer Slider as well. All of them support WooCommerce, WPML and Contact Form 7 integration.

One final question. Sorry for the inconvenience – I didn’t think of it earlier. I want to incorporate 2D/3D stills. (SketchUp, LumenRT 2015 or Lumion 5.3, maybe Vectorworks/Cinema 4D) into my site – my business is landscape architectural design-build. I’ll embed, into the website, 3D rendered animations hosted via Vimeo? and not try to host these otherwise.
Does Cabin have SVG graphics functionality?
I missed in the description for Cabin that it does have SVG functionality. Either Brick or Cabin should be great for my business site!

I successfully installed and activated Cabin. I successfully installed LayerSlider WP but haven’t activated it yet. When I then tried to install WPBakery Visual Composer I saw this message:

Hi,
With our theme comes the extended license for all the plugins integrated with it (Visual Composer and Layer Slider). We update these plugins to their latest version with every future theme update.
When you install the theme you will get a notification that you are required to install the necessary plugins to run our theme. Just click to install/activate these plugins again and that is all there is to it. If somehow you don’t get these notifications to install the necessary plugins, then go to Plugins -> Add New -> Upload – Find these plugins in theme folder/plugins, select one by one and click import/install.
You can ignore the messages about the required activation of these plugins you see inside Plugin settings.

Hi, I just purchased the theme, and when I try to install it though my wordpress, I can´t finish the installation. The message explaining this error says the package couldn’t unzip and that the theme has no style.css. Could you help me?? I need to start working on this right now.

It would be cool to be able to make the logo bigger in that big header, and then still shrink down to the standard size when the sticky header remains.

You can specify only one category or all categories to be listed in a Portfolio List.
So, to have multiple portfolio lists on multiple page you’d have to perform the following steps:
Go to your WP Admin -> Portfolio -> Categories -> And create two main categories(for example).
Then, inside the first main category add: “category 1”, “category 2” and “category 3” categories and add your single portfolio items to these categories.
Next, inside the second main category add -> “category 4” and “category 5” categories and include other single portfolio items to these categories.
Finally, create a page and insert a Portfolio List shortcode. In your Portfolio List shortcode set the first main category slug only and save. This way only the subcategories of the first main category will be displayed in the portfolio list. Similarly you could set another portfolio list on another page with a different main category which would list out its child categories and so on. Going from there you could create as many parent categories as you’d like and assign various child categories to them and have them listed on any page of your site.

1. On some of the pages there are sections I’d like to remove i.e. the bar with numbers of coffee etc. How do I remove these?
2. How do I edit the google maps? I set it up to be my address but there is still the “cabin” logo over it.

As for the Visual Composer issue – When you install the theme you will get a notification that you are required to install the necessary plugins to run our theme. Please navigate to Plugins -> Add New from the admin panel.Type “WooCommerce” in the search field. Locate “WooCommerce – excelling eCommerce” in the search results and click on “Install Now”. Once the installation has completed, click on “Activate Plugin”. You will now see a notice saying “Welcome to WooCommerce – You’re almost ready to start selling :)”. If you plan on importing demo content, click on “Skip Setup”. Otherwise, click “Install Pages”.

I need help! I am trying to get my site to look like “hawthorn” but I don’t know how to get it just right. Is there a user manual I can download? I got one with my last theme and that helped me a lot. There are so many options and I don’t know what most of the things mean.

In your downloads folder from ThemeForest there is the documentation folder as well. Please navigate to your downloaded zip folder and extract its contents. Next, go to that folder/documentation/cabin/index.html and have a closer look at the official owner’s manual. We recommend that you go from the getting started section to cover all aspects of properly starting with Cabin.

- How to set up a website background properly. Now I have full width website, and background is fixed. I’d love this background to be responsive + scrolling but not repeating. So it should be sticky to the top of my website
- Padding from the top of page to logo. If I set padding via custom css on mobile template my logo is a little bit too low
- On blog post how to reduce space between images to 1px. Using custom css I could change line height which is bad solution as whole tag <p> is moved
- I’m not sure why I can’t use menu or logo to navigate after leaving home page. So if I click on my homepage for ex. ABOUT. The about page will open and click option on menu and logo stop working… ?!

There are several ways of resolving this:
1) If you’re using Boxed layout of your site set in WP Admin -> Select Options -> General – you can specify background color/image on the fly: http://screencast.com/t/XlE1smJU
2) Otherwise if you site is full-width, you need to set a main Row element for each page and set its background color:
