I am interested in this theme as I bought wp-courseware. You said it uses Buddypress and bbpress. My site, is a wordpress MU installations with buddy press and the idea would be to use this theme in a sub blog, not the route one, is this a problem? Would it still work?

WPLMS is MU compatible. If you’re only going to use this as a theme then it should have no problems, but you’ll be missing out on tons of features and flexibility we’ve put in this theme. 
Does that mean that using it on a sub domain/blog not the root one, makes all its features useless? My idea is to use the LMS capabilities as well, I am just wording if they will work being a MU/BP install and not on the main site. I am actually interested in all theme features, not so much the theme itself, although it looks really nice as a theme as well.
No, you’ll get all the features if you choose to. All the additional functionalities in the Theme is offered via “in-package” plugins. These plugins are only compatible with the WPLMS theme. You can choose which functionality you need and install the plugin respectively, and all the plugins & theme comes packed with Auto update feature. Let me know if this does not answers your question.
Jaja, not really, but lets do the following because it looks like I am not able to formulate my question properly. I probably buy it and test it in a sub blog within my MU installation and see if all true features related to buddy press work fine with the rest of the features built within your plugins/theme. There should be no issues in embedding these characters directly in WordPress editor in question content. example.

There is no inbuilt shortcode for this in WPLMS. However, you can use 3rd party plugins which can help you out with this. example.
Not sure if this has been asked before as there’s about 20 other pages that I’ve not went though, but my question is, is it possible to simply disable the LMS portion of the theme and simply use the theme as a normal WordPress/BuddyPress/bbPress theme?
I ask as I really don’t need the LMS portion, but the theme is quite possibly one of, if not the nicest on the market and I’d like to use it on a project I’m working on.
Yes, you can use the WPLMS theme for BuddyPress and BBPress. Simply do not install the custom plugins for the LMS functionality and do not use the LMS specific page templates.

Pre Sales Question – I have been thinking about using your theme on a paid membership / Buddpress community that is already on the web.
Is there a way to separate the paid members of the community from people who buy courses? I don’t want students who come along to buy a course to have the same extended profiles as my paid members.
Is this handled via the Wordpress user roles? I.e. Admin, Student, Community Member?

With the latest version 1.4.1 we’ve added PMPRo Membership plugin support example site. But we haven’t really tested PMPro and WooCommerce simultaneously. It could be handled via WP User roles as for normal user who buys a product WooCommerce assigns the user role : Customer and one who buys a membership is assigned the role Student.

Epic update. great move to include Visual Composer! It feels really good to use a theme that is well planned and thought out.
FEATURE REQUEST: An ‘edit this page’ link on the front end for admins.
If Visual Composer is active you should see “Edit this page with Visual composer” . See this tip in forums for visual composer
A question. Am running the latest version of WPLMS. Since the last update, I am having real issues with my memory limit. I tried disabling most of my plugins but that doesn’t seem to fix the problem. Is there an issue?

I create 1 course with 2 units for test but when i clic “start course” activity page open
WHY PLEASE ?
Make sure you’ve set the following:
1. Make sure the unit is marked free (for testing purpose only).
2. Create a Page with “Start Course” page template.
3. Connect this page in Options Panel -> Course Manager -> Start Course Page.
When someone wants to take a course for free. but not registered. and click on the button “TAKE THIS COURSE.” not sent to the registration page. only reload the page. As I can do to make this button to send the registration page?
I updated the theme today but still does not solve this problem. that I can do?
Ok. This has not been handled in the theme yet. I am marking this in the issue log for the next update. Apologies for not understanding it earlier. The 1.4.1 Theme update is still not out. You should receive the update notification very soon.

Yes, there are 2 fixes coming up in todays update (1.4.1).
1. You should now see a Start Course button if the order is complete..
2. If you’re using direct checkout (by passing product page) and Product is connected to one course only. The User would be taken to the Course page with Start Course Button after the order is complete.
Note : In case you’re using Paypal Sandbox (as in the Demo) the order is not marked complete on Thank you page, it is a known issue in WooCommerce

Couple of quick presale questions (also, theme looks awesome – a accomplishment.)
1) Can I sell non-course items in the WooCommerce store? I want to sell items related to my courses as well as my courses. The courses are actually free, to encourage purchase of my products.
1b) Perhaps a cool feature you can consider adding would be to allow free courses if people purchase products – or courses that, for isntance, require books, which are added into the course package?
I may be adding this functionality myself.
2) Any plans to include tin-can API or even legacy SCORM? (google learndash to see one of your competitors that is using industry standards in their approach)
3) I saw mention of a ‘plugin to allow easy file editing and upgrades’. Has this happened yet?
4) Child themes work ‘ok’ ?
5) BUGS: I noticed some real bugs while checking the site out on my iPad 3 in Safari. The checkout page arrows are messy, the tab title margin on the about page are screwed up. Probably more of these little issues.

1 b. That is possible in the current setup. Since the WooCommerce products are normal products as well, you can add downloadable files which will be downloaded/shown to the user upon course purchase.

3. Yes, we’ve added a WPLMS Customizer plugin which allows you to edit almost anything. We’ve added many useful tips and customizations in our forums using it, refer link.
4. No. We’re not adding child theme unless all the features are complete in the WPLMS Package.
5. This is a known issue and it will be fixed in the next update. We regularly update our theme with the bugs identified and mentioned by users.

Hi I think embedding videos does not work in DEMO. I tried both shortcodes and media upload.
The only video that works for me is your “bunny” demo video that has been uploded to server. Otherwise the page is blank.
Could you confirm it works in non-demo regular version of WPLMS ?
The Demo (/demo/wplms) has been having some issues especially with Media upload, as there were a few attempts to shut down the server from the upload functionality. You can try uploading the Media through WP Admin -> Media -> Add New and then try to embed it, it works in our other test installations.

I had a few quick questions!
- Can I have a slideshow at the top of the course single page? So for example instead of course I want to show locations/studios and there would need to be images displayed for this. Actually I’ll prob be displaying courses as well and so having some behind the scenes picture of the courses would be good too.
- Can the members be searchable? I want other members to be able to search for other members perhaps based on their job or locality?
It might be better to pop you guys an email explaining what I’d like to do..

1. Yes. you can embed a Layerslider/Audio/Video basically any functionality which has a shortcode can be embedded in Course description.
2. Currently, members can only be search form their names via the search box in the directory.

Hi, Just install and configure page. I’m stuck at the stage of import sample data. The first barrier – did not work WP Import plugin, but threw the line in 1035. and fired. But here comes the second barrier. The problem is that I can not load the data. it gives me the message: Sorry, there has been an error. This does not Appear to be a WXR file, missing / invalid WXR version number What should i do? Regards. kesztyn

You need to select WordPress and upload the xml file, looks like incorrect file option was selected during the import.

1. Currently, this is not possible in the given structure. However, you can embed a video in the Course Description section using WP Media Embed.

I don’t know how to display the price of a paid course when a course has been linked with a paid product ? if the course is free , FREE is displayed, but if it is paid, the price doesn’t appear.
Please see this important notification about WPLMS Customizer plugin. Most likely your issue is connected to this.

Nice theme- One things i’d say is missing are shortcodes to make the life simpler for admins. Even some of the basic options like colours changes for header logo background and footer are missing?

Would this work with an event manager system e.g. Events Manager? But I would also need to advertise actual class (not only online courses – but not booking gateway would be required for events) based on date and location. Will there be a plugin conflict?

Now i have bought the theme, very nice. Are you going to add visual composer sometime? Also, i’m thinking of adding this as a subdomain with it’s own worpress and buddypress installation. Is it any known issue regarding this approach?

There should be no issues with this approach. Just make sure you’re not asking users to login on your main domain. Login sessions may not carry over in between WP Installations.
