Amazing Work Buddy !!!
Thanks
Hello, is there any way or I should say any plans to implement the course creation process into the theme for instructors (in the instructor area) vs. having them login into wp-admin to create a course? I think it would make a simplier and easier process, as I wouldnt wanting them knowing we are using wordpress. Just a thought.
Yes, this is definitely in our feature list.
Hello, it’s me again. Just wanted to know if there is any comparison previously made by any user between WPLMS (http://themeforest.net/item/wplms-learning-management-system/6780226) and Academy (http://themeforest.net/item/academy-learning-management-theme/4169073). I found both interesting, but will only buy one. If I could use somebody’s experience in order to choose which one is better for me, I’d appreciate. Just to be honest, I’m placing this comment on both theme’s page. Rgds,
Hi,
I think our theme is in a different league than Academy. We focus more on the social aspects for learning, so the both the themes have a lot of difference even though they are in the same domain.
I am just pasting a response which I gave earlier in the comments:
1. WPLMS is built over a social platform called BuddyPress.
2. WPLMS has supports social features like friendships
3. Private messaging (and commenting)
4. User activities, profile status, custom avatars,
5. General or Course specific Groups {private, public or instructor only}
6. Group only activities, Group only messaging,
7. Group only forums.
8. Course forums. Private or public
9. Unit forums. Private or public
10. Connect each Course to a Product.
11. Each product can sell multiple courses at once.
12. Each product can be of subscription type or of one time purchase type.
13. Drag and drop course creation
14. Drag and drop quiz creation
15. 4 inbuilt question types: Multiple choice single answer, Multiple choice multiple answer, Small text and Essay type answers.
16. Auto and Manual Evaluation from the Front end.
17. Each question can support multimedia formats, embedded audio and video files.
18. Mass messaging for courses.
19. Instructor controls for resetting courses and quizzes for students from the front end.
20. Instructor controls for deleting students from the course from the front end.
21. Instructors can see each students statistics for her course from the front end.
22. When a course or a quiz is evaluated the student is sent a message and a notification with the marks.
23. A student automatically joins the course connected Group and Forum when she takes the course.
24. Quiz Results and Course stats are recorded in results section of students profile.
25. LMS Stats, user subscriptions, each course stats, each instructor stats are shown in the WP backend.
26. Drip Feed courses
27. Instructor Dashboard with quick links
Plus you can extend the functionality by using BuddyPress and BBPress plugins.
and I guarantee top quality support from our side
Hi again, just wanted to let everyone knows my choice: WPLMS. Rgds,
Great Choice
Hello,
where can you find the categories of courses, to remove, alter or create.
Thank you in advance
Please see this tip
Great Theme Can you upload SCROM projects? Thanks
No, currently theme does not support this.
i am checking your WPLMS theme: absolutely great job!!!
BUT…let me suggest that you need to outsource video tutorials, because are really ugly
narration voice is not good, mic scratch are very tedious and english pronunce is very bad
again, WPLMS is AMAZING…but you need to improve related marketing (like LearnDash tutorials or similar items)
videos like that will make you appear a newbie-one-man-band….
fix that soon and you sales will skyrocket : good luck
Thank you for the tip. We’ll start working on this.
Wow. What a business idea brain tickling theme. Definitely in my upcoming project list!

This looks like such an amazing theme with so much functionality. I do have a few questions though because I am thinking of getting it.
1) I noticed that in the demo when I click on “Take This Course” I am taken to the woo commerce product page. Is there a way to bypass this since it just creates an extra step that I find unnecessary? I would like it to directly add the course to the cart when I click “Take this course” without redirecting to the product page and then having to click “add to cart”
2) Is there a way to set the profit split for instructors? I want to make a site where there many different instructors and want to set profit percentages so that they get a cut and I get a cut.
3) Also I think the curriculum should be included in the main body of the course page and not as a link on the left sidebar. Is there a way to include the curriculum just under the description and before the course reviews?
Thank you, and great job it’s a wonderful theme
Hi,
Most of your requirements will be complete with the next update.
1. We’re going to add this feature in the coming versions. We’ve already implemented the direct checkout but it still takes you to the product page. You can try it here.
2. Yes, Instructor commissions is already in our check list and is coming in the next update. However, the split part will be available in future versions. Next version brings commissions per instructor.
3. This is possible with little code change and WPLMS customizer plugin.
Thank you so much for the answers and your quick reply. Ok so if I understood correctly you will have it in the next update so that when someone clicks “take this course” they will not be redirected to the woo commerce product page and they can go directly to checkout? I do have one more question and this one is really important for me. Are students able to purchase more than one course at a time and then go to checkout and have access to all the courses they purchased?
1. Yes
2. Yes
Hi, The feature direct checkout bypass product page and instructor commission have now been implemented.
1. Commission : http://vibethemes.com/envato/wplms/instructor-commissions/
2. Bypass product page check this out: http://vibethemes.com/demo/wplms/course/software-training/
Auto update bug has been fixed in v 1.2.2 , if your version is below 1.2.2 you can fix the auto update by visiting this link
Can this system import quiz and questions … in bulk through .csv or .xlsx file. I think it is very important with a professional system, people don’t want do this manually with a big data.
Yes, I agree with you. But currently this functionality is not present in the theme.
Hello. Is there a timeframe after purchasing through which I’d receive updates and support? What’s this period of time? Besides this, I understood BBPress/BuddyPress can be used for student-student or student-instructor communication. OK! But, is there a way: a) number of forum posting can be limited per user (e.g: 3 questions per course per user) and b) instructor is notified on the existence of a student’s question on a course handled by that instructor? Furthermore, is there a way we can track how much time were spent from question posting to question answering? This is very important for me since the course support is a differential in my business.
Rgds, Wander
Hi,
No, As such there is no timeframe for support and updates. And all the updates are automatic, just like you update WordPress.
No, this is not inbuilt in the theme. Since this part is handled by BBPress, you get access to lots of BBPress plugins. You can can try searching for this.
BBPress has the facility of subscribe, if you subscribe to a forum , you get notified of all the forums, threads and posts via email. So the Instructor can simply subscribe to Course forums.
BBPress shows the time with each post, so tracking this is very much possible.
is there any way to redirect users not logged in when they want to see “Courses” page? like Member’s page when you are not logged to the account and you are guest it redirects you to the page you select.
Check this tip in Forums.
I don’t have that pluign installed, where do I download ?
Download it form here : Download WPLMS Customizer
I logg in to the forum, and click the “attatchment” link but nothing happends.
Anyways send me an email at vibethemes@gmail.com and I will send you the customizer plugin.
Did the theme provide the log activity for all of the student doing? (login/take quiz/read notes/click any button)
Yes, most of the activity is recorded and we record the activity in BuddyPress Activity module. An Instructor can see all the activity for her course in Course -> Admin -> Activity screenshot. However, activities like Login and logout are not recorded .
hmmm.. can we see the activity on each student on their course?
Administrator can view Activity of each person in her Profile -> activity page. Apart from this, it is possible by entering keywords (student name and course name) in the Activity page.
Hi there all is going well now. Purchased the theme and then my friend told me of this theme that is a marketplace. demo.astoundify.com/marketify/author-dashboard
Username: demovendor – Password: demovendor
Please can you check out the profile area and are you able to create anything like that in yours so that it is easier for the user to add courses as well as adding pricing and selecting the course category
hmm…I think the above theme is a different concept, therefore it has a different work flow. Since this is already in our feature list. We’ll be following the same approach BuddyPress takes for creating groups.
I would suggest you to login as Instructor in our Instructor demo and go to this link and create a group.
I would also like the student to be able to take the quiz again if they fail Can I do that, and can i set a limit to the number of retakes?
i mean automatically not needing the instructor to purge the results manually
Ideally I would like the student to get 10 attempts to get the quiz right
can this be achieved by allowing the student to rest the course themselves?
hmm..plenty of customization would be required for this. But, we’ll make provision for this in WPLMS. I will add a tutorial on this in the live documentation -> Coding tips.
sorry about that,
Hi,
Great Theme!
Is WPLMS compatible with WPML? If not, do you have any plan to make it work with WPML as well as Event Manager?
Thanks!
Yes, we’ve tested it with WPML tester. We have submitted WPLMS to WPML for review. We’ll be adding compatibility with WPML soon.
We’re building a custom events plugin for WPLMS because the events in WPLMS are course specific, therefore generic plugins would not be very effective for WPLMS. You can share your pointers for the events plugin here.
hello, i have one question before buy this fantastic theme! how can i will manage the payments for trainer? for example when a student buy one of instructor’s course, he can see the purchase? can he know his profits?
This is one of the most wanted features for WPLMS and it will be available in next version. As of now there is no provision for this in the theme, so currently this is a manual job.
Hi, The instructor commission has been implemented. Check this : http://vibethemes.com/envato/wplms/instructor-commissions/
I see you added direct checkout, but it looks like when a customer is on the course page and they click “Take This Course” they are still taken to the WooCommerce product page for that course.
I don’t want my customers ever to see the WooCommerce product page for a course. I think it is very confusing. The customer is getting the same course info in a new layout and they need to re-orient themselves. This is going to give them an opportunity to bail and will undoubtedly affect conversions.
Can I link the “Take This Course” button, directly to the direct checkout?
Well this also gives you an opportunity to upsell/cross sell items . never the less We’ll make provision for this in the next versions.
Hi VibeThemes,
Can you explain what does the new feature “WooCommerce Direct Checkout” mean? It skips “Add to cart” and seeing the cart? In my opinion, the purchase path should be shortened. People who seek to buy online courses/trainings don’t shop like buying physical products. Trainings are not so cheap. They buy a single course or a bundle of courses (sold in a single product), take the course and see for themselves whether or not to buy more. So, going to PayPal (or other payment options) must be as short as possible. The profile creation must be upon checkout (profile activation, etc. must not distract the customer before paying)
Maybe Billing and Payment details must be in a single step. Review order must be skipped as a separate step. Maybe it’s better that the customers sees the order on the same page where he enters the billing and payment details
Hi,
Direct checkout means, you click on “add to cart” and it takes you to the checkout page, thereby avoiding 2 steps, page reload and cart page. Try it here.
hmm… some important pointers. Its all about shortening the checkout process. In my opinion a faster checkout means lesser options, since the overall number of options are the same for every checkout, we give the impression of reduced options by increasing the number steps. This makes the checkout simpler for the user, maybe you’re concentrating too much on number of steps. This type of decision should be backed by data analytics.
I see your point. Nevertheless, billing and payment details can be in a single page. Good job with direct checkout
