Hello Chris,
We’ve been using your plugin Q and A FAQ and Knowledge Base for WordPress Version 1.0.6.2 and it works quite well.
I noticed that this plugin is not longer in the WordPress repository >> https://wordpress.org/plugins/q-and-a/
In the WordPress settings for Q and A, there is a link for the premium version, which points to this page. However, this appears to be a theme and not a plugin.
Do you have a plugin available? We’d be happy to go premium.
Many thanks!
Herby
Hi Herby,
Thanks for your message. I think there’s been some confusion as I’m not the author of that plugin. So not sure why that author would link here. It may be worth investigating the author of the plugin and seeing if they still have the premium version available.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Thanks Chris.
I think what’s happening is that the author no longer wants to support the plugin, and deflecting users to you.
He/she does however make claim to your theme being THEIR premium plugin. Herewith the exact text in the WP plugin page…
“Thanks for downloading Q & A! If you like it, please be sure to give us a positive rating in the WordPress repository, it means a lot to us. If you like Q & A and would like more advanced features, please take a look at Q & A Plus, our premium version of the plugin. It’s got more display options, support for user submissions, user ratings, and even more options to explore.”
(There is a hot link on the text “Q & A Plus” to your Envato page.)
The plugin in our WP plugin page, has a link to the author >> https://madebyraygun.com/
You may wish to take it up with him/her.
Hope this helps.
Herby
Hi Herby,
Thanks for the heads up, I’ll look into it.
All the best,
Chris
Chris, is there a short code available for 2 columns taking up 75% and 25%?
Hi there,
Thanks for your message. Unfortunately that layout isn’t possible with the column shortcodes included. Sorry about that.

Hi Chris. Your theme looks fab. Does your theme use voice search or does it only work if you type a question in? If not, is there a way of using a plugin to create a voice search that is compatible with ajax? Thank you.
Hi there,
Thanks for your message. The theme doesn’t have any voice search capabilities. I’m not aware and haven’t testing any plugins with the theme to add voice search functionality, so unfortunately couldn’t tell you if it’s possible.
Let me know if you have any other questions,
Kind Regards,
Chris
I don’t know anything about CSS and HTML, is it easy to use without these? What is the best thing that knowhow can offer?
Hi there,
Thanks for your message. I see you’ve become a customer of ours and have sent a support request through. One of the team will be with you soon to help you.

Chris
Hi, I am interested in purchasing this theme, here are some of my questions: 1) Are the articles created in this theme as usual wordpress posts? 2) Is it possible to allow visitors to create the articles by themselves? 3) Is it possible to attach a file to an article (.doc; .pdf; etc)?
Hi there,
Thanks for your message.
1. Yes, the knowledge base articles in this theme are regular WordPress posts.
2. It’s isn’t possible to allow regular visitors to create articles by themselves. They would need to be the correct WordPress user role (https://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities) to create articles in the WordPress dashboard.
3. This theme doesn’t have this feature unfortunately.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris,
is it possible to change theme font? I like someting like this http://support.code42.com/CrashPlan/4/Troubleshooting/Connections_Between_ComputersThanks
Hi there,
Thanks for your message. To change the font you would need to customize the theme (using a child theme is best) as unfortunately there isn’t a built-in option to change the font.
For anything else don’t hesitate to get in touch with our support team at http://herothemes.com/support/

Hi,
I would like to build a website where visitors can create new articles, similar to wikihow*com. The demo of KnowHow doesn’t show how to create new articles. Does KnowHow have a simple WYSIWYG editor or can you recommend an editor that plays well with KnowHow?
Thanks!
Hi there,
Thanks for your message. Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with any front-end editor plugins so couldn’t say if they would be suitable for the KnowHow theme.
Sorry about that.
Kind Regards,
Chris

Hi again.
I contacted with the support team and they said we don’t support any modification with our own theme.
My question is:
Don’t you have a shortcode or a functions that can disable the themes menu on mobile version?
Oh, I solved the problem
Hi there,
Glad you got it sorted. Don’t hesitate to get in contact should you need anything else.
All the best,

Does the styling in dashboard allow for the background color in header to be customised? Or would that need to be done with custom CSS?
Hi there,
Thanks for your message. I believe you would need to use some Custom CSS as there isn’t a control built-in for that area.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards,
Chris
How can I change the text on the home page to something other then “Article Categories”? I just purchased today. Thanks.
Hi there,
Do you still need assistance with this or have you solved it as above?
Kind Regards,
Chris
Yes I do. Thank you.

I’ve read through the install pdf file and installed the theme but it looks nothing like the demo. Is there a way to start off with your demo data/look? Where do I get those instructions?
Hi there,
Could you submit a support request via http://herothemes.com/support/ so we can take a look for you to see what’s going wrong for you?
Thanks
I figured it out. Thanks.
What is the significance of the latest [repacked] version of “KnowHow v1.1.9”? The “repack” threw me off, and no information is given for this update (?) under product details. I am assuming whatever differences are not critical, or else a new number would have been assigned. I am mainly just curious.
Hi there,
Apologies for the confusion, the update today was just fixing an issue in the download package, not in the theme itself.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi, love your theme and have 2 questions,
1)I know your theme does not include a ticket system, where should I got a reliable one works well with your theme?
2) I run franchise business, want to restrict ONLY franchisee can login and read the content of knowledge base info, you mention about https://wordpress.org/plugins/members/ am I on the right path?
Thanks
Hi there,
Thanks for your message.
1. Unfortunately I can’t recommend any as I haven’t tested or used any with this theme myself.
2. That’s right, another popular option is Password Protect site: https://wordpress.org/plugins/password-protected/ for setting a password for the entire site.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi,
This theme is support WordPress 4.3?
Hi there,
Thanks for your message. Yes the theme is WordPress 4.3 ready
Let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks,
Chris
Is there a way to restrict content to members? I want to be able to add members which need to login with a user name and password.
Hi there,
There’s no method to restrict content to members built into the theme but there are a large array of plugins available on WordPress.org that may fit your needs. A popular one is: https://wordpress.org/plugins/members/
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Chris,
I am interested in purchasing the knowledge base theme and find your theme bit interesting. But before I go ahead and purchase it, will I get a chance to look at the admin panel so that I will get to know more about your theme options.
Waiting for your response.
Thanks, Shekhar
Hi Shekhar,
Thanks for your message. Please email me from the form on my profile ( http://themeforest.net/user/chrismooney ) and I’ll send the screenshots of the admin panel for you.

Hi Shekhar,
I got your email, I’ll update you over there.

Hello,
I’ve been using this theme for more than a year now and it is awesome.
Here’s my question. I’ve removed the date and time from the comment section (as I don’t want them to be shown) but the word “at” remains in front of the already removed time stamp. It’s supposed to be “AT 12:37PM”, of course. However, after the time is removed it’s just “AT” (which doesn’t make much sense). Where can I remove that?
Thank you very much for your time in advance!
Hi there,
Thanks for your message. I’m not sure how you’ve removed the date and time as you didn’t say (child theme? CSS?) however you should be able to do it with this CSS snippet:
.comments-area .comment-meta time {
display: none !important;
}
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hey Chris,
The CSS snippet worked perfectly. Awesome!
Let me answer your question (I must apologize for being vague initially):
I had the date and comments removed from showing by deleting their values at the general wordpress settings. (going “settings” -> “general” -> choosing custom date format and time format for the whole site and leaving them empty). I was not modifying any theme at all. It’s was a barbaric approach definitely.
Now thinking about it, what would be the css snippet to remove the date from the comments as well (in case it’s needed later)? Should I just change “time” to “date” in the CSS snippet you sent me and add another one?
Thank you very much for your time again. Top notch support.
Hi there,
The snippet I’ve provided above removes both the time and date. It’s not possible to remove one without the other using CSS. You’d need to modify the theme to do that (using a child theme of course
).
Kind Regards,
Chris
Awesome. Thank you for that clarification! Really appreciate the help.
Hi,
Your template looks great for our startup but my question, is there a login and non login post entry ? i cannot see it on live demo.
Thank you
Hi there,
Thanks for your message. Sorry I don’t understand you question. Could you clarify what you mean?
Kind Regards,
Chris
Hi Thanks your fast reply, my question is that, users should login site and give comments or ask questions. But i can’t find any login screen on site. Even without login user should comment. Thank yu
Hi there,
Thanks for clarifying. The theme doesn’t include a front-end login panel.
Kind Regards,
Chris
