Best theme EVER, thanks a bunch man… great work!
Thanks
Is there anyway to turn off the live search feature, and just use standard search for this theme?
It’s possible by editing /framework/scripts and commenting out the line:
add_action('wp_footer', 'add_live_search');
I’ll add this as an option in a future update.
Thanks
Is there a safe way to remove the small thumbnail from the Post landing page? (when you click on an Article title) I’m assuming that’s the featured image but I don’t want it on the post landing page.
Showing the Post Thumbnail on the Article Category listing page is fine.
Try adding this into the Custom CSS box in the theme options:
.single .entry-thumb {display:none}
Thanks
The latest version has been released and is now available to download from your ThemeForest downloads area. Simply re-download to get the latest files.
You can find a summary of the update in the update log on the item page.
If you have any issues upgrading, please post your issue on the Support Forum.
Thanks
Hey Chris, pre-sales question here. Is it possible to have users register and create their own posts? Of course I would want to approve/deny those.
And does this work with WooCommerce plugin?
Hey there,
This is possible with WordPress: http://codex.wordpress.org/Roles_and_Capabilities
WooCommerce support isn’t built in.
Thanks
Hi Chris,
A few weeks ago you were very helpful in telling me how to set this up to use in a multi-site. One more thing came up with our client I want to ask about before we purchase the theme.
The client has many PDF articles and medical case studies that are PDF’s. They have permission from the original source to use these PDF’s as long as they are in original form. Would it be possible to configure the posts/articles so instead of launching a page it would automatically open the PDF when someone clicks the title?
Hey there,
This would be possible with some customization. I would recommend talking to a developer about the best way of achieving this.
Thanks
Hi Chris,
I bought the theme and am very happy with it except for the sub-category issue which zh_anna2013 touched on. When I add a child category it doesn’t seem to show up. Anyway, I know you know about it. Any ETA on the fix?
Thank you for a great theme!
Mike
Hey Mike,
The update is in the queue, so should be available soon. Keep an eye on my Twitter @swishthemes for news.
Thanks
Hey Chris – Awesome new version! One question – How can I limit the number of sub categories that appear on the homepage? I’m thinking of 5 sub cats per category.
Hey there,
You’re probably best using the new “exclude sub categories” option and filtering out the ones you don’t want to show for optimum control.
Thanks
hello. can i request a dummy content? like in demo thanks !
Hey there,
If you email me via my profile I’ll email you back the demo XML content.
Thanks
Hi, I really like your theme, but my customer needs the content to be printed (“Print this” button). Can you provide a print stylesheet or is there any plugin that could provide this?
Hey there,
This isn’t a default feature, but I’ll make a note to look into it in the future. In the meantime you could look into using a plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-print/
Thanks
It would be great to have the option to modify the font face, and size, for this theme. I went and did it with css, but it would be nicer with a theme option
Hey there,
I’ll keep it in mind for a future update
Thanks
Could the search box also include the tags of the articles?
Hey there,
You can use this plugin to include tags in the search: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-everything/
Thanks
Hello, can this be used like a yahoo answers script?
Thanks.
Hey there,
Not without extensive customization.
Thanks
Beginner question: How can I force all articles in a category to be displayed on the home page under the category on the bulleted list? For example, my category is Fruit. I have 6 articles tagged only as “fruit”, but only 5 display. The cat-count number displays 6, but the bulleted list (category-posts) only goes up to 5
Hey there,
Have you tried increasing the number? Try adding 10 for example to see if that forces it to show more?
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks
Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I went to theme options and upped it to 20 and it’s still only displaying 5 posts.
I’ll take a look and make sure it’s fixed for the next update. I’m currently working on it so it won’t be more than a day or two.
Thanks
Would you be willing to offer any kind of discount?
Hey there,
ThemeForest doesn’t offer discounts.
Thanks
Hello Chris,
Thanks for smooth wp template.
I need to sort categories and theme articles manually. I`ve tried to use wp plugins: “My Category Order” & “CMS Tree Page View”, but it seems, that thay don`t work with the theme. Can you recommend any easy solution for non programmers?
Andrew
Hey Andrew,
There’s currently not a way to do this as of yet. I am looking into solutions for the future though.
Thanks
Hi Chris Have been developing a site with your theme (Love It – Thanks)
I have an issue that all transparent .gif’s are blacked out where it should be transparent. (they show as transparent in the admin – but not the front end)?
Cheers Ken
Hey there,
Could you post a link so I can take a look? (You can email me via my profile if you want to keep it private).
Thanks
I too have a similar question as @zh_anna2013.
Say I have a parent category of ‘Sports’.
I have child categories of ‘NBA, NFL, MLB’.
I also have grand-child categories of ‘Team 1, Team 2, etc.’ within each child category.
If I click on the parent category ‘Sports’, WP will display all of my child categories as well as all of my grand-child categories.
How do I only list the next level of categories in the hierarchy without display the categories at the next level?
Hey there,
Thanks for letting me know about this. This is a bug which I’ve got down for fixing in the next version.
Thanks
Hello. Do you plan to release the HTML version?
No plans at this time, thanks
Hi Chris, I’ve just bought your theme and can’t figure out what I am doing wrong. These are the issue I am having:
My site needs a multilevel structure, up to 5-6 sublevels deep within each category. 1. The homepage currently displays posts rather than subcategories below each top category. Is there a way to display level 2 subcategories instead of individual posts?
2. Count of articles next to the category name stays at zero, although this category already has subcategories with posts added to them. The Wordpress native category widget in the sidebar shows the correct number of total articles for the category, but the ‘main catalogue’ in the Article Categories field doesn’t.
3. The category page lists all the subcategories and sub-subcategories in one column with no distinction. E.g.
Category name: Level 0
Sub-level 1 Sub-sub-level 1.1 Sub-sub-level 1.2 Sub-level 2 Sub-sub-level 2.1
I understand that displaying this list as a category tree might not be an option, but maybe at least I can prevent the sub-sub-levels from showing, otherwise it gets too confusing.
Grateful, if you could point me towards the solutions.
Thank you so much.
Hey there,
1/2 Could you email me via my profile with your site and admin details so I can take a look at your setup? These things are hard to diagnose without seeing the category hierarchy.
3. Thanks for letting me know about this, I’ll work on a fix.
Thanks
How can I add a page where users can post questions that I can responded to. A FAQ page only allows me to post and does not allow my users to ask questions.thank you
Hey there,
You’ll need to look into either a plugin or a freelancer to provide that functionality as it’s not a part of the theme.
Thanks
